This is a nice, clean motel. Nothing pretentious but a comfortable place to stay. Rooms are clean and well appointed.

Room they originally put us in smelled so strong of urine when you opened the door, sitting on the dresser was urine remover. we requested a room switch or a refund

We loved everything about this location, it was quiet location and very friendly. I recommend it to everyone if you visit luray, Va its the best place that we have stayed in by far. Wonderful vintage decor as well and very clean basically spotless.

The location was great and close to dining and attractions. The sheets were clean. The beds were comfortable.

The bedspread had a cigarette hole, the shower had some mold, and a dirty sock was under the desk. There was some dirt behind items and trash in the bathroom trashcan. No kleenex or coffee maker.

This is a great place. It's not a high-end hotel, somewhat dated, but the owner was so accomodating, giving us a room with a private porch. Rooms were clean, HVAC worked well and he was always so friendly and smiling. Highly recommend.

I booked 3 double queen-bed rooms. A LOT of space. The surfaces were pretty clean, especially in the bathroom. No funny smells and stains. The bed was medium-firm, which my friends and I liked after a day in the Shenandoah NPK. The owner is nice. More than worth the price.

Some dust on the brinks of the windows which got on our hands when we tried to open/close them.

Immaculate huge old school motel room with micro fridge. Very well located for hiking in Shenandoah. Free parking. Welcoming knowledgeable and helpful staff. Bed in this older inexpensive facility was every bit as comfortable as at any upscale chain. Plenty of heat and hot water.

The price was crazy-expensive for this old hotel. There was no coffee pot, the bedspread looked old and dirty, everything was old. There wasn’t even a clock. That said, the manager was extremely nice. The whole experience was kind of cute actually for a small town visit.

The Cardinal Inn is a retro style motel located just within the city limits of Luray. Very convenient to grocery and restaurants and a short 10 min drive to Shenandoah National Park. The hotel is priced seasonally and we visited during peak season. The rooms open directly to your parking spot right in front of your room. It's located along business rt 211 and if you know anything about Luray there is no rush hour. The room was safe and quiet. Part of what sets this place apart is the charm of 60 year old decor, particularly the tilework in the bathroom. What puts this place on the 10 of 10 list is how clean and well maintained it is. The proprietor was friendly and helpful and made sure to check in after our first night to see if we needed anything. Other than that it was quiet and comfortable.

We were there in peak season and paid quite a lot for the room. The cost was equivalent to Days Inn and other similiar hotels (that weren't already booked). Peak season is mid October.

There are no breakfast or coffee options. The jacuzzi didn't work in our room.

The owner is rude and obnoxious. The room wasn’t cleaned, he put the charge thru before we arrived and we wanted to change it, the door didn’t seem to seal properly so we listened to it flex all night. It was horrible.
