The family who run the hotel is amazing. They are super friendly and polite and we really enjoyed the time we spent together playing games, talking, etc. The breakfast is delicious and very well served and you can ask them to prepare foe you the dinner which is absolutely delicious and much better than the options you have near by. The surroundings of the hotel are fantastic and very well integrated in the nature. We have a fantastic time there. Thank you!

Everything was perfect

Warm welcome from hosts. Peaceful location by the lake, with lvely gardens. Very good swimming pool. Spacious, comfortable room. Big veranda. Huge breakfast with fresh fruit, pancakes, omelette & other delicacies. Home cooked dinner was delicious. Getting around is easy with hosts help.

It's in an out of the way position so some taxi drivers couldn't find it, even though it's correctly located on Google maps. Maybe better signs would help.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They arranged a very last minute taxi for us when our rental car was cancelled, and sorted a rental car for us on arrival to the property. They greeted us with a lovely refreshing drink and were always on hand to help. I would definitely recommend getting the dinner there - a 3 course DELICIOUS dinner at their lake side restaurant. The staff go over and beyond here to help you. Room was lovely, loved the bath in the ground. 10 min walk to Belle Mare GORGEOUS beach.

Not much to say!! Wifi only in reception area. Wish we stayed another night.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful House, stunning room, really nice pool and perfect hosts! Song and her family are amazing hosts! We were their only guests at that time, but they always gave us the feeling to be more than welcome. The Lakeview room is amazing! Really spacious and the view is soooooo relaxing. We had dinner one evening and YES! Do it! Book the dinner - Song is a fantastic cook. Thanks also for the femiliar atmosphere and nice chats with all of you. We had a very relaxing stay - and the 2 nights were definitely too short.

A fridge in the room would be nice to have cool drinks. But you can get ice or even leave your drinks in the fridge downstairs. So thats not really a big negative thing.

We received a very warm welcome from our host Mrs. Sang and Mr. Roshan. Really impressed with the way they have architectured the place. It was a pleasure to spend time in the room, swimming pool, restaurant, and garden. Everything was just perfect in the room from the excellent and beautiful lake view to, the modern interiors. Breakfast was a feast with so many options. The love they put in cooking and serving is just superb.

Everything was perfect. It's just that there could have been more options on the vegetarian dinner menu.

The family welcomed us very warmly, we immediately felt like we were home. The room is very spacious, and very nicely decorated. The hosts thought of everything. We really recommend to have your diner, a delicious home cooked meal, at the Horisun hotel, overlooking the big lake with fruit bats flying above your head. A unique experience. Breakfast is perfect. We regretted that we only booked for one night and would love to come back and recommend the stay.

We don’t have any negative points, just do not judge on your way to the property, the ride is a little bumpy. But this ride is definitely worthwhile!

Sang, her husband and Kai were the perfect hosts from before our trip started until the end. They helped out with advice and taxi bookings, at a better rate than we could ever have found. The property has a lovely and relaxing vibe, and we especially loved the very spacious room with the semi-outdoor bath tub.

The meat in the evening meal main courses could have been of better quality. A back street location.

We had a really good time at horisun. As it is a family owned hotel/accommodation we were every day in touch with the owners, who were really lovely and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. Just keep in mind there is no Wifi on the rooms, but you can get easily and all the time access in the reception area. The location is a really good starting point to explore the east coast if you have a rental car. Special hint: the owners also serve a dinner for the guests if you want to eat there. The food was really outstanding good. It is not cheapest meal you can get on Mauritius, but it was one of the best kitchen we had. We can definitely recommend this hotel!

Lovely hosts, very clean, big rooms, good style. Overall a good stay for this part of the island at that price.

Wasn’t keen on the location and the communal area wasn’t great. It’s a bit confusing having the hotel/breakfast down the road. It’s not a long walk it just feels disconnected and like it’s set up for weddings?
