Great location . Enjoyed the local shops and pubs and restaurants

If you’re searching for a property in the Yorkshire Dales area, don’t look any further. This is, by far, the cheapest and best located property that we found after 3 days of searching. A little bonus is that Hawes is the town where Wallace & Grommit was set. The check in process was convenient, the house was spotlessly clean and the beds were so comfortable. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. We lost our dog while we were there and the owner did everything she could to help us find it. I would absolutely recommend this property.

Another 3 nighter in a great location in a home from home

Great place, very convenient for shops pubs food etc. Enjoyed our stay. Very clean cottage and amenities were excellent.

Very comfortable well positioned property. Very steep stairs might be difficult for some people but we were fine. Parking tricky when we arrived as a busy Saturday and we had to go into pay and display car park a little way away until space became avalable, but no problem during the week.

Very cosy, quirky little cottage, equipped with everything you could need, comfy beds, right in the middle of Hawes, beautiful walks from the cottage, we were always able to park outside, Will definitely visit again!

you have a beautiful wee cottage in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. But to have to climb so many stairs so many times becomes a wee bit soul destroying, especially when we are both over pensionable age. One reason for my booking was because you were prepared to accommodate my dogs, and while I appreciate it's not your fault, I need a better facility for my dogs. My dogs are very important to me, and I just found it totally unsuitable for them. Never mind, we did very well, and many thanks. Regards, Michael

This was my third time at cattlemarket cottage. Improvements have been made including new boiler and hive installed since my last visit. A remarkable location, so close to all amenities in the village. Great value for money. Will be back at some point!

A older type accommodation warm cosy and peaceful ( Hawes gets very busy later in the Spring. Convenient for shops and eating out.We found the bedroom a little small bed comfy though.Overall very clean and very quaint.

Very quirky cottage right in the middle of Hawes. Everything you need and good Wi-Fi,staircase can be challenging but no problem once you and remember what floor you are on. Really had a good stay and will return.

Central to the wonderful little town and all its facilities with dales walks right on the doorstep. Perfect for a break away with dog in tow.

Liked the downtown location and that's one of the reasons we booked it but that didn't work out so well because of the road construction.

Good location in the centre of Hawes for the places we wanted to walk

The home is right in the center of Hawes - a delightful village to visit. Across the street or just a few steps away are pubs, cafes, breakfast nooks and fish and chip. Couldn't ask for a better location in town - in a very sweet and comfy house.

Deceptively roomy yet quirky property in the centre of Hawes, instructions were clear to obtain keys, however we looked for a brown door and it's now white, other than that it's perfectly situated for nearby walks, pubs etc. If arriving after 6.30 be aware all shops are closed so take some essential food items if needed, although the chippy is open until 8.30pm. Lots of nearby walks not too strenuous. Overall a great place to stay.

Brilliant little cottage in a fantastic area of the Yorkshire Dales.

Lovely little cottage in a location that could not be more convenient for all Hawes has to offer. Everything we could need for our stay. And all in good working condition. Parking was most convenient - either at the front of the property or in the free car park opposite. Plenty of information in the cottage regarding walks, places of interest etc. Also clear information re how things worked in the accommodation and expectations of what was required upon departure. Cleanliness was faultless. Bed and seating was comfortable. Ideal for two people although there are facilities for 4. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to rebook if we were in the area again.

Just wot we were looking for

The cottage had everything we needed. It was situated very close to amenities and country walks which was exactly what we wanted. We really enjoyed the visit.

This is exactly what it says. An old terrace , updated but keeping all its original features,uneven floors ,steep creeky stairs .Clean and fun for a holiday . Couldn’t be closer to all amenities.

Lovely quaint property. Wouldn't be suitable for those with mobility problems. We are in our 70s and coped ok. Very warm and loads of hot water. Back again next year!

Would recommend it to anyone who would like to explore the dales. Stayed here 3 times now and already booked for next year

Property was clean was a little hard with been on 3 floors but biggest problem is they say dog friendly but when you get there they leave instructions that dog is not allowed anywhere in Property but ground floor and really not the right way to expect to leave dog down stairs while you are sat upstairs

First impressions going through back door was stepping back in time, flagstones and range very quirky, just two of us and dog stayed which was fine, maybe a struggle for family, well equipped, clean and excellent location in the market town of Hawes. Wasn’t easy parking when first got their, due to motor home at one end and bike at the other and all parking spaces at front of cottage taken, too unpack, all fine once got space in front of cottage, just have to be patient, and bonus it is free.

Ideal location for everything we had planned ! Walks in all directions, property was very clean. We did have a problem locating it though! The Market Place was extremely busy and we was looking for a Red Door as we was driving up and down, it was not till we parked up and walked we found it ! The door is now Brown and the name plate on the ground so was hidden. This may not seem much to most but did take time. Pleased we came in the day light. Very quirky building and in truth perhaps the bedrooms little small for 4 adults put perfect for family of 4. We would stay again put as a couple

Cattlemarket Cottage is a delightful little cottage in the heart of Hawes. It was very well appointed and immaculately clean. Comfy bed.Great location and no problem parking. Pretty small if 4 adults but excellent for a couple or would be fine with kids, not toddlers as steep stairs. Would definitely hope to stay again.

This superb quirky cottage is the perfect getaway for short breaks. With beautiful scenery, fantastic walks both long and short and plenty of places to eat and drink the night away. Will definitely return. Xx
