The hosts met us with the keys and gave us a tour. Although the property is connected to the hosts' home, it felt very private, was exceptionally clean, and the homemade jam was delicious.

No off street parking as claimed, the “kitchen” is in an alcove in the passageway that leads to the owner’s residence

Penzance Cottage is just a wonderful place to stay. It's totally self-contained. You enter via the road and it is detached from the host's main dwelling (which sits behind it). So you have a whole little cottage to yourself. Best value in Glenelg! We received a message shortly after booking with Peter and Helen's numbers, and they were very responsive on text as check-in approached and key handover was easy with Peter meeting us at the door. They're both lovely people, and Peter even has a quite large claim to fame (ask him what it is when you meet him)! We had complimentary home made cookies and jam to enjoy during our stay... which were so delicious that we had to buy more at the honesty box behind the cottage. It sits on a tree-lined street in a lovely residential area, with a close walk to cafes and pubs and a short drive (or medium walk) to Glenelg pier. Beds were comfy, bedrooms were well sized, the cottage is warm and well insulated, bathroom was tastefully finished and overall it just immediately felt like home for a few days. A perfect base of operations to return to and relax at the end of the day. If you need to stay in Glenelg, hopefully this review is the one that gives you peace of mind that Penzance Cottage is a spot you won't regret booking. Our group of three couldn't fault it.

Felt welcomed. Loved being able to say hello to the "hosts" as they lived next door. Very accommodating when plane was late with arranging for the key to be available. A little far but still walking distance of the waterfront and cafe. Grocery store and chemist just in the next street so very convenient.

Wouldn't have minded off street parking. BUT, not really an issue as it was a quiet street so no trouble parking.

Fabulous location in a very quiet street, yet easy access (walking distance) to good breakfast and coffee locations, pubs etc. The bathroom was lovely and clean, facilities good and had just about everything we needed

The TV reception was very poor so if that could be improved it would just about make it ideal. Otherwise, little else was of a bother to us.

The property was very clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped. It was in a good location. The hosts were very friendly , helpful and kind. They even took us to the railway station to catch The Ghan train on the morning of our departure. Lovely people.
