The property was lovely especially the living area downstairs and an excellent location for the city centre. The only major downfall was the bathroom with the only functioning toilet was downstairs beyond the kitchen. The toilet on the first floor could not be used. This made it very difficult with five people and lots of stairs!

The house is in a great location 10 minutes walk to any off the attractions
The only negative was the rubbish left in the hallway but not to much of a problem
The house was well priced will defo book again

Perfect locationa stone's throw from the centre of town. Beautifully decorated and very clean. It would be useful in the description to point out that you cannot use the upstairs toilet for a bowel movement. We had a ln elderly person with us and it was difficult to have to go downstairs each time.It also states ensuite but its not off the bedroom its actually on the landing.

Living room/ dining area and kitchen met needs as apart from breakfast we ate out. Bedrooms on 'middle' floor rather cramped with limited hanging space. Shower room/ toilet also limited space and due to faulty macerator toilet water came shooting out of small wash basin sink when flushed. Plumber was coming to repair after we left.

Excellent location (15 minute walk to most attractions)
Easy to find & ample parking, the house was comfortable for the 3 of us but would be a squeeze for 6.

Perfect location; imperfect accommodation
The house is in a row of charming early Victorian workers' cottages about five minutes walk from the centre of one of the most interesting and historic cities in the UK. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. However, it is advertised as accommodating six people. It doesn't, especially if they are not one family or all adults. The rooms are small: one had only a large single bed and another, with a small double, required some dexterity to navigate. The sitting room/area had only five easy chairs and, for example, there were only four wine glasses and four tumblers. The worst thing though was the bathroom facilities. There was an adequate bathroom through the kitchen on the ground floor but that was a route-march from the top floor bedroom and difficult in the dark. There was also a recently installed shower room on the first floor, which was very cramped but would have gone some way to solving the problem if the lavatory had been a proper one and not of the macerating variety carrying a large notice telling us only to use it for urine. We were five adults and the poor toilet availability led to some embarrassment. One last thing: the cleanliness was superficially acceptable but, as our week progressed, we found bits of food between the cushions of the sofas, other people's detritus in the corner of a bedroom and food hard-baked on to the oven trays. In covid times, these omissions are hardly admissible.

Does the job
Reasonably Comfortable cottage in convenient location but it does have a few issues. It’s a house for 6 but there is comfortable seating for only 5 people. Only enough Cutlery for 5 people. Upstairs toilet allows only limited use.

A great stay
The house is in a great location and is comfortable and generally well equipped. A great spot for exploring York.

City break
Great location, perfect for exploring the city. The house is pretty tired and needs a bit of tlc, which would take no time or huge effort
Very poor that no recycling facility is available. Dishwasher doesn't work/clean items properly. Only left 1 rubbish bag so couldn't empty bin or dispose of excess bottles, boxes etc

Buck House
I very much enjoyed my stay. The location is very (very) convenient for the town centre - 5 mins walk. 10 mins from the brilliant local shops on Bishopthorpe Road. Cosy place and nice outside space. Netflix and Xbox nice touches.

Excellent location
This house is ideally situated for exploring York by foot. Resident parking was very useful and there were plenty of places available on the street.
It's a nice quirky property that is probably getting to the stage of needing a little bit of TLC and a really good clean. It was very hot when we stayed there but parts of the house remained quite cool, which was a relief. There is a climb to the top bedroom but the addition of a "pit-stop" shower room does help as I can imagine it was quite a trek from the attic to the back bathroom before this was installed. Even though there is a pub around the corner, which did give some late night entertainment, it is generally really quiet.
York is amazing, it's the busiest place we have visited since March but it still felt safe and the people were very respectful of all the current safety guidance. We managed to visit a couple of tourist sites which had recently opened including the Minster which is a must.
All in all a really good week with the only slight let-down being the cleanliness of the property and confusion over how to dispose of your rubbish.

Cosy home from home, although a bit of a squeeze!
Lovely little house which was warm and inviting, although smaller than we'd imagined. Beds were lovely & comfy. Toilet was always freezing, even with the heating up full!
We only stayed for a long weekend and to be honest, I think the house would be claustrophobic for 6 adults for any longer.
As it was a 6 sleeper, it would have been good to have 6 dinner plates, 6 wine glasses & space for 6 people to sit in the living room without having to use a not very comfortable dining chair.
Make sure your car permit is fully on display - we managed to get 2 tickets even though the permit was on the dashboard - as the windscreen had iced over, the warden was unable to see it. We did get the ticket revoked though by call York Council.
Would we go back ?? Probably because the location was amazing.........BUT we would only do it as a couple, not a group of 6.
Parking was a pain due to only 1 permit, which meant the other 2 couples had to pay to park at the long-stay at the train station.

The house is clean in good location in the city centre but is still quite, it is a small house but owner provides every thing that you need with out been cluttered. This house is good for a weekend but for along stay it is alittle bit tight as it has only 1 bathroom which is located on the ground floor

Great stay at 3 Buckingham Street, York
Stayed here for a week with our dog. Lovely property with everything we needed and some nice Christmas touches as it was December! Wooden and stone floors easy to keep clean with the dog. Comfortable lounge and excellent bedrooms. So convenient for the shops, bars and restaurants and the river just over the road. Would recommend to anyone with or without a dog!
