we booked a superior room but were given a floor room right in front of the swimming pool and coffee tables, without any privacy, no window, but a glass door opening to the passage. room smelled like mold and there was a cleaning product sprayed from the air conditioner to mask the smell. there were ants on the furniture, inside the closet and in the bathroom. they said it was the only room available because we were the last to arrive and that they would change it after 2 nights. we stayed for just one night and moved to another hotel. we payed for a non refundable reservation but still hoping to be reimbursed for some amount.

We were just a bit disappointed by our room that gave into the inside patio instead of the outside (while this was supposed to be an upgrade...). So not very private and a bit dark. Also, we were a bit surprised by the constant music playing in the lobby and common area. But as soon as I asked to change to nicer music the team was very friendly and did it immediately. Will probably return, but different room next time. thanks!

Beautiful inn with cozy atmosphere in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and to town with restaurants and shops. The rooms and bathrooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is very kind and helpful. Couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay in Buzios

We loved everything about the pousada! couldn’t be more perfect

Breakfast was great but not excellent. I travel a lot so my expectation is always high. A big shout out to sra Deisi who helps serving the breakfast always with a big warm smile and attitude. She is really great. Paulo from the reception is also very nice and helpfull. Would love to go back in the future

Beautiful small hotel in a quiet area of Buzios but still only 15 min walk to the busy downtown. Amazing breakfast and very kind staff. Would return in a heartbeat.

no beds by the pool

For the second time we chose to stay at the Pousada La Chimere. It was worth it and we definitely will come back again. With a privileged and quiet location you can reach shops, restaurants and beaches just by walking a few minutes. We felt safe even at night time in this part of Buzios. La Chimere is perfect for relaxing. The small pool is really good for couples at the end of the day to relax and have a caipirinha. The open breakfast room and common areas surrounding the small and green patio are giving the pousada a lovely charme. The comfortable bed, the simple and elegant room and the thoughtful staff makes the difference. A modern split aircon system and a new flat TV were also available in the room. The breakfast is also a highlight with a huge selection of fruits, fresh juice and a great service. Although the Pousada does not have a garage, it has an arangement with a nearby parking lot and parking is included in the price of the stay. The prices for the mini bar in the room and the hotel bar are appropriate.

The towels could be renewed, but this did not really affect the comfort of the stay.

Breakfast with fresh juices was great. Staff very friendly. Good location, just a bit North of Center. I can recommend this place to 100% !!
