We stayed 4 nights and we can highly recommend this apartment. The location is perfect to explore the old town. Just a 10 minute walk from the train station but Brigitte and Christian so kindly picked us up from the train station on arrival and took us back on departure.
We felt so comfortable staying there. Everything was sparkling clean on arrival. We particularly enjoyed the garden area in the quiet of the mornings and then later in the day.

Wonderful charm in an excellent location. Our stay couldn't have been better and we hope to be back again. Brigette is a friendly and helful hostess. I highly recommended Maisson Bleu.

Maison Bleu is right in the heart of the old town, yet the lovely patio on the canal helps you escape and recharge. Brigitte and Christian's home has everything necessary for a great stay. It offers you the ability to dine in or easily explore the many wonderful restaurants nearby. We were able to see all the sights by foot and by the easy Kutzig bus to the charming villages in the valley. The personal touches were above and beyond, from the ride to and from the train station to the welcome basket of goodies, complete with Brigitte's jam! We are grateful we found this delightful home to rent.

Beautiful home in a perfect location on the water. Close to several restaurants, bars, photo ops, souvenir shops, bakeries, everything. The owners are very sweet and accommodating and even provided us with a rise to and from the train station even though our train was definitely not on our side the day of our arrival. Lol. Absolutely would recommend and absolutely would book this property again. Thank you!

Wonderful accommodations. Walking distance to everything. Could not ask for better hosts, very welcoming . Would totally recommend a stay in Colmar at the blue house. We felt safe and at home. The best experience!!

Brigitte and Christian welcomed us to their lovely VRBO by picking us up at the train! Their apartment is in the best location in Old Colmar, with charming , comfortable furnishings, a well equipped kitchen, and it is tight on the canal, with a picturesque bridge very nearby. Old Colmar is an intriguing, beautiful ‘trip to the past’, with medieval architecture, winding streets with shops, museums and restaurants, and the landing for a boat ride on the canal is around the corner. This stay was truly amazing, I highly recommend you reserve here.

Felt like I was in a fairytale. Everything was wonderful at La Maison Bleue. Hosts, Brigitte and Christian are very nice people. Even picked me up and dropped me off at the train station. I enjoyed every moment of my stay. It is right in the heart of Colmar, but still quiet. Loved walking to everything, especially the covered market. Enjoyed the private patio. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. Absolutely would stay here again.

Beautiful apartment right on the canal in Colmar. Brigitte and Christian are perfect hosts. Picked up and dropped us back to the train station was a plus. Colmar and the surroundings of the apartment are superb, Christmas markets at the door as are restaurants and within walking distance to sights. A very happy stay was had. Well recommended.

La Maison Bleue is in the middle of Colmar’s Little Venice and at the very center of a magical experience. With the boats moving by in the canal with visitors marveling at this and the surrounding homes, there is a great feeling of comfort in knowing that this special place is your home for a short time. The old city is quite beautiful and this home’s character in the center of it all is extraordinary. Brigitte and Christian could not be kinder. The apartment, on the first floor of the house, is well equipped, even including homemade marmalade. The Kempfs had us drive to their home so that they could guide us through some city construction to the apartment. They were available any time if needed. It was simply 10 days of magic.

Fantastic location. Incr double hosts and wonderful authentic timber house
We loved our stay. Brigette and Christian are the sweetest two people we have met. Their home is ideally located in the Petite Venice part of Colmar. The house is authentic, on the canal, and one of the many photographic sights of Colmar. The house is as pictured but exudes so much more charm and personality than a photo can convey. The location is close to a hordes of restaurants. The house provides a soothing haven from the tourists without leaving the center of activity. I wholeheartedly recommend this home. You will have an excellent stay.
Thank you Brigette and Christian for everything- the pickup snd return to the train station, and the goodies you left for us. An excellent stay with outstanding hosts.

Amazing!!!
I’ve stayed at quite a few places and this one is probably my most favorite of all. The pictures show the beauty of of the house and area but can’t capture how magical it is. What took our experience over the top was how helpful and kind Brigitte and Christian were. This place is truly a gem and we hope to return one day!

Amazing hosts with outstanding location
Brigitte and Chris are friendly and nice and go out of the way to help you enjoy your stay. We had an issue with a train strike and they came to our aid like close friends would. The location is ideal, right on the canal in Petite Venice with a large patio and garden to enjoy your coffee, meal or drink. The clean snd sparkling home has everything you need to enjoy your visit. Everything is available; there is no running to the store 5 minutes after arriving to get some necessity. Next time we visit I want to stay a month. Thanks Brigitte and Chris.

The perfect spot!
Brigitte and Christian's place is perfect! It is right in the old town of Colmar - we could watch the children sing Christmas songs in their barges on the canal right from the kitchen window! An easy walk to everything. Very clean, very cozy, very pleasant. Plus Brigitte and Christian were kind enough to pick us up at the station and explain how to work things at the apartment. This is one of the best VBRO experiences I have ever had

Best Stay Ever!
I could write a long list of all the wonderful treasures received from our stay at Maison Bleue, creating sweet memories of our vacation. The house was magical, perfectly located. Open to the canal, but private. Decorated in the custom of the area. Thoughtful amenities, everything you would want for a comfortable stay. Very clean. Our host and hostess were gracious and kindly picked us up at the train station and took us there when it was time to leave. If you are looking for a fairy tale holiday, this is it.

A BEAUTIFUL FAIRYTALE HOUSE.
My daughter and I fell in love with Maison Bleue. Brigitte and Christian were all smiles when they picked us up at the train station. They drove us right to the house. At first we thought it was just a hall plus a bedroom and bathroom...but no...Christian led us into a sitting room with TV and then a little office with a door and view of the charming patio...lastly the kitchen with a view of the bridge over the river. The bridge was decked out in red geraniums which were mirrored in the water below. The perfect photo spot especially when the swans swam by. Brigitte had home made jam for us for our morning bread. Yummy too.
They were both helpful in suggesting the hop on and hop off bus to some of the outlying towns along the wine road. They pointed out a couple of good restaurants too.
At the end of our stay they came to collect our luggage and keep it till we were ready to catch the train to Paris. They were right on time to meet us at the station.
They are a lovely couple who did everything imaginable to make out stay extra nice and comfy. We hated to depart but if we ever go back to Colmar we will stay at the Maison Bleue! Next time we would like to be there when it is warm enough to enjoy the pretty patio over looking the bridge and river.
We both highly recommend Maison Blue. It was like staying in a fairy tail book story.
Merici beaucoup d'avoir rendu notre etat si agreable.

Highly recommended - great property in ideal location!
I stayed in Colmar for 5 nights in early June and couldn't have been happier with my choice of rental flat. Brigitte was incredibly responsive and helpful in our messages before my trip, and she and Christian were generous enough to offer to pick me up and drop me back off at the nearby train station at the start and end of my stay. The property itself was spacious and as described in the listing, and I was perfectly comfortable during my time there.
The bed is comfortable, the bathtub was wonderful to have for a soak after long days filled with walking, the kitchen was well-appointed. But my personal favorite (and main reason I chose this property) was the private garden patio directly on the canal. I never used the living room in the apartment because (except for one day with bad weather) I spent the majority of my waking time at the apartment sitting outside - having coffee, reading, eating, or just soaking up the surroundings. It's a beautiful private setting, and you can watch the boats and ducks go by.
Outside your front door - what an ideal location if you're interested in spending most of your time in Old Town Colmar! The picturesque bridge is steps from your front door, and there are countless restaurants and shops available within steps. The covered market is just a couple blocks away, and there's a Casino grocery a few minutes further. Keep walking and you find even more streets filled with more shopping and more delicious food options.
As a female solo traveler, feeling safe is incredibly important and I always felt secure at this property. There's a locked door at street entry, and another key for the apartment. The windows are secure and there's a gate you can lower for the back patio door. And even with the canal, bridge, and a couple of restaurants right outside/next door, it was never too noisy or intrusive when you were inside.
For a solo traveler or small group, I can't recommend this property strongly enough! Again, Brigitte and Christian were wonderful hosts and I was perfectly at home in the flat. If I ever travel to the Alsace region again, I'll definitely check to see if I can stay here again!

Amazing Place
We had the best time staying in this gorgeous apartment. The location is amazing. You literally step out the front door into the cobbled streets. You have a lovely little courtyard which looks out onto the beautiful old houses and bridge.
Bridgette was very helpful. She saved us a car park and we found is really easy to get a park when we went out.
I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. It really exceeded our expectations.

A great home away from home
Not only is this apartment in a perfect location for exploring Colmar on foot, it has a special feeling that reflects the town's spirit and ambience. And what made our stay even nicer was the wonderful hospitality that the hosts, Brigitte and Christian, showed us--picking us up and dropping us off at the train station, leaving treats for us in the kitchen upon our arrival, making the booking process as smooth as possible, and answering our questions before and during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the apartment and on the patio, exploring and dining in Colmar, and sightseeing on our day trip along the Route des Vins, despite some cooler weather than we expected. All in all, our stay was everything we hoped it would be, and we thank Brigitte and Christian for helping to make our visit so wonderful. We highly recommend this apartment to any couple that plans to visit this enchanting town and area.

La Maison Bleue Is an authentic Alsatian house, Both charming and convenient
If you are looking for an authentic experience, la Maison Bleue is the place to come. The home has modern conveniences, especially the kitchen, yet when you sit on the patio by the canal, watching the boatsand swans float by, You will feel you’re in a time gone by. Everything is clean and well cared for in the house, the garden is beautiful, and the cherry tomatoes delicious. Brigitte is helpful and picked us up at the train which is, however, only about a 15 minute walk to the house. Next-door is a good restaurant and another across the canal. The bathroom is not quite modern as the tub is too high, but the shower works well. Momoprix is a good grocery. From the train station, You can catch a bus to the villages, but get a schedule at the train station first to figure out the times. You can hop on and off the bus for one fare, so you see more than one village. This was preferable to us for two reasons: 1. no car rental needed 2. buses drive all around each village, so you can see them. Riquevihr also Has a little white tourist train that takes you into the vineyards above the village – splendid views.
In Colmar you can walk everywhere in the Old town and Petite Venise. We are an active retired couple but were able to navigate this trip without a guide, tour, or a car. One week is enough time here in Colmar and the villages. We flew into Zürich from the US.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the charming, spacious Maison Bleue this September. The most magical part of the house, of course, is the outdoor space on the canal. How wonderful to sit out on the patio at the end of a day of sightseeing with a glass of wine.
We did not cook, but the kitchen is well equipped, if you should want to do so, and there is a great covered market nearby. The bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom very large. Be aware that it is a very large step up and into the tub for the shower. I am in my 70s and had a hip replacement last year, so it was a little challenging. That said, I would definitely rent this apartment again!
The location is fantastic, and we walked everywhere. There are lots of great restaurants nearby.
Brigitte & Christian couldn't have been nicer. They picked us up at the train station and at the end of our stay drove us back, so nice when you are dealing with luggage. If you do want to use the train (we did a day trip to Strasbourg), it is about a 10 to 12 minute walk.
Maison Bleue is the perfect place to live like a local and enjoy all that Colmar has to offer. Thank you Brigitte & Christian for a truly great stay.

Fantastic location, apartment, owners!
As other reviews have indicated, this is a wonderful property in a marvelous location. The lovely Brigitte and Christian met us at the train station, which is not a long walk from the Maison Bleu but since it was raining when we arrived, this was a real benefit!
The location really can't be beaten. It's wonderful to be staying in one of the 15th-century Petite Venise houses that all the tourists are taking pictures of. There is a pretty fountain outside the front door and a canal behind the apartment, on which boats filled with tourists float by. Despite being right in the midst of things (two restaurants are right next to the apartment), it was much quieter than we expected, and felt quite private, which was very nice when we settled down in the garden for a glass of wine in the evenings.
Brigitte and Christian were wonderful hosts, and even located a fan for us to use in the bedroom at night, since it was hot when we arrived. My wife and I had a truly magical stay here and would happily go back!

Beautiful traditional home
Maison Blue is a pretty, traditional home with a private courtyard overlooking the canal. Christian and Brigitte met us when we arrived and showed us round this well equipped and very comfortable apartment. It’s situated in the perfect position to explore Colmars old town and canals with it’s beautiful buildings, many restaurants and shops. It’s the ideal base to explore the Alsace Wine Route and surrounding villages, also it’s only a short drive to the Black Forest.
Christian and Brigitte are the perfect hosts and are only a phone call away should you need any help or advice, we would highly recommend the Maison Blue and will hopefully go back and stay there again in the future

All the comforts of home in the perfect location!
La Maison Bleue, what a special place! You have at your disposal a fully equipped, ground-floor apartment in a historic building that is located at the edge of the historic center of Colmar, right on one of Colmar's beautiful canals. Plus, outside your apartment and along the canal you have your own backyard/courtyard space for eating, sunning, or just enjoying the flowers. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you will need to prepare your own meals, including necessary staples such as salt and pepper, cooking oil, coffee, and so on........(My only pet peeve was that there was no really sharp knife.) Plus, you even have a clothes washer and dishwasher at your disposal, should you need either. There is plenty of room for sitting and relaxing, watching tv, or taking advantage of the free wifi. The bedroom is sparsely furnished, but adequate and with a comfortable bed. The bedroom is, however, located on the street side of the apartment so noise from the street may be a bother to some; it wasn't an issue for us. Parking was/is a bit problematic, but available. The pay to park spaces in front of the apartment are generally available, but the maximum time for advance payment is two hours, thus you have to feed the meter several times a day; still not all that expensive and not a horrible bother, especially since there is no charge from 1200 until 1400. We were told that free parking can generally be found in the area for those who are diligent.
Brigitte and Christian Kempf are perfect hosts; they meet you and explain everything, and then check to see you off when you leave. I might add that there is a very fine and reasonably priced restaurant and butcher shop right next door, and that there is a woderful boulangerie/patisserie around the corner. In essence, we simply loved La Porte Blue and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Colmar.

The most charming place in Colmar
La maison bleue was the perfect place to stay in Colmar. Brigitte and her husband were present for our arrival, giving us a ride both from and to the train (equipped with a car seat for our two-year-old son). There were toys available for our toddler to play with, and the ground-floor apartment was easily accessible and safe for our son. They discreetly dropped off a second set of linens and towels halfway through our three-week stay and even included a second set of toys for our son to play with. When we left, Brigitte had knitted our son a hat and brought him a little fire truck to take with him.
The apartment itself and comfortable and well stocked. It feels larger than it is and is divided well, complete with a private outdoor space with a little garden. We looked out the kitchen window to see swans, ducks, and fish in the canal in the mornings. Everyone stops at the bridge to see La Petite Venice, so you feel like you're the local and everyone else is passing by. The Covered Market (open Tues–Sat) was a four-minute walk away, and walking around the town itself was the best part of the trip. The little green train that tours the town is well-worth the 30-minute tour, and the local shopping is fun and charming.
This place very quickly became a home away from home, we would gladly return.

In the midst of everything
La Maison Bleue puts you in the midst of La Petite Venise, the colorful and historic center of Colmar, which itself is situated in the center of Alsace, with villages, cities, castles and abbeys in easy driving distance. The covered market, shops and restaurants are all close at hand. Spacious and photogenic, the apartment embraces a charming garden and patio, perfect for enjoying your glass of local white wine, while watching the little boats go by on the river. La Maison Bleue, which comes well equipped and as described, is graciously presented by your helpful host, with whom all correspondence is easy and smooth. Besides the oft frequented villages of Riquewihr, Kayserberg and Turkheim, we recommend Bergheim, Obernai, Munster and Neuf Brisach, as well as the spectacular raptor bird show by the castle at Kintzheim. Strasbourg, a 30-minute train trip away, is certainly worth a visit or two. We recommend particularly a fall or spring vacation and do ask you host for the free parking map.

Excellent!
We stayed at La Maison Bleu for a week in August. We were kindly welcomed by the owners. La Maison Bleu is located in the lively centre of beautiful Colmar, which is great because all things of interest are within walking distance. The apartment itself was nice, large, very clean and has a nice little patio. We would definitely recommend this place.

Ideal location in Colmar
We spent two fantastic weeks at Maison Bleue and were delighted. A warm welcome awaited us and we were impressed by the superb situation, right in the centre of Little Venice.
The apartment has its own private garden and a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, delightful bedroom and spacious bathroom.
There is no need for a car as the apartment is in the centre of town.
A fantastic base to explore Alsace and its wines, foods and products.
Don't miss the musee d'Underlinden and the other museums in town. Colmar is a very friendly town and you can be assured of a great welcome there.
Our thanks to the owners for allowing us to use their beautiful house and for a perfect holiday.
We would unhesitatingly recommend this to our friends looking for a base in Alsace and we are looking forward to our next visit.
