We had 3 couples stay for 3 nights at this property. Judith was easy to work with and communicate with before our arrival. She scheduled transfers both from the port when we arrived and to the airport when we had to depart. The property itself is exactly what you see in the description. Everything you need is right there on site. We loved relaxing in the plunge pool during the day as it was very warm when we were there. The views are incredible and the sunsets are spectacular. Location is perfect for getting to everything you want to get to in Oia. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place on Santorini.

It's impossible to describe the ten days we spent here and do it justice! Our private, beautiful, comfortable villa had its own perfect sunset view (without any need to go further than the private plunge pool or the deck) and we had everything we needed or requested from the owner and her amazing "family" of support during our entire stay. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't spend your whole Greece vacation on Santorini. Just tell them you're staying By the Mill!

Our stay at the villa was spectacular! Great space, and the view of the Caldera was beautiful! The host, Judith, was the most gracious and accommodating host that I have ever worked with! I had a lot of questions before our stay, and she always answered quickly and even reached out to our sunset sail company to see if they offered towels. We loved our stay at By the Mill! When the gate was opened to the view it made me gasp….pictures can’t describe how gorgeous it is! Judith was very helpful advising us on activities, reservations, transportation, etc. The location in Oia can’t be beat…steps away from shops and restaurants, but much more private than other villas that we passed by. I loved drinking coffee each morning in the outdoor dining room off the kitchen, and we enjoyed cocktails each night on the upper terrace with an unbeatable view of the sunset. We were truly sad to leave this morning, but we will look forward to returning.

We had 3 couples, and the space was great. Yes, one couple had to sleep in single beds, but the overall home was a great place for 3 couples. We enjoyed the town, we enjoyed the pool, the patio, the local restaurants, and everything. One morning we walked to the local store, we brought back some fresh breads to eat while we had coffee.
The home worked very well. The owner was helpful, and we used the recommended transportation. "Let Billy", I'll never forget that statement. They worked so hard on our baggage. We had good wifi. We slept well. Being able to take a shower while looking out to the Aegean sea sounds weird, but quite luxurious.
I wouldn't plan on doing much laundry here, but there is a working washer and a line to dry clothes. We did a little laundry, but there isn't a dryer and the weather doesn't dry clothes to well.
I wouldn't change a thing. If I can ever stay in Santorini again, I hope this is where I can stay.

From start to finish, the owner, Judith, was responsive and helpful. She set up seamless airport transfers, answered all of our questions, and made excellent recommendations for restaurants. The unit far exceeded our expectations with its roominess and cleanliness. The views of the Caldera were like a dream! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our first time in Santorini. Tranquil Heavenly Retreat
This is the only place you should stay in Santorini!
It is simply remarkable and definitely not adequately portrayed the photos. The most picturesque view of the famous Oia sunset, actually people start lining up just below the property 3 hours before sunset to catch a glimpse and you can just wander out onto the balcony for a totally unobstructed view in minutes . It is so peaceful and tranquil here compared to the rest of Oia, yet you are only a quick walk to everything-restaurants, shops, excursions. Daily housekeeping was discrete and impeccable , and the plunge pool, which was definitely appreciated at the end of the day, was kept pristine daily. This Villa has everything you need , is so clean and well maintained, and the owner is so responsive and accommodating- airport transportation with assistance to the door of the villa is offered ( and recommended). We will definitely be back, only if there is availability to stay here.

Fantastic Property, Location and Hosts
This is a truly spectacular property, optimally located in Oia on the caldera, with easy access to restaurants, shops and bars. The hosts Judith and Theo are gracious and responsive and could not have been more helpful - including in advance with restaurant suggestions and activity selections all of which were fantastic. The property is large, both inside and outside, and comfortably sleeps six adults. There are multiple levels of outside decks for enjoying the sun and view into the caldera, as well as a large plunge pool. The photographs perfectly represent the location and amenities. Hard to imagine a better place to stay, in any way, when visiting Santorini.

Wonderful getaway in Oia with special sundown view
What to start with? Every evening we enjoyed the spectacular view on the sundown with a glass of wine in our hands. Although being situated really central in Oia the location offered a lot of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking your own meals and a welcome package with fruits and the basics was available. Every room was different and special in itself with an individual bathroom attached to every bedroom. The interior was high quality and suited the Santorin flair. There was cleaning of all rooms and the pool every day and towels were replaced regularly. Special thanks to Judith for being so welcoming and forthcoming. We add this week to one of our very special holiday experiences.

Best House I have ever stayed at with VRBO
My husband and I travel the world. This house was the best house we have ever stayed in. Quite magical, you walk through you or gate and you are in your own private Santorini !! Facing the famous sun set with sitting in the pool Drinking wine. Doesn’t get much better than this. Our 2 girls loved the upstairs bedroom. Lots of space for family of 4 or more.

Incredible Oia property
The house was amazing - even better than the already great depiction on VRBO.
The location was perfect - great views, centrally located on the west end of Oia, and arranged in a way that provided privacy from the packed paths of other tourists exploring the island and trying to get a glimpse of the sunset.
In addition, Judy was an extraordinarily helpful host. She made check-in and check-out easy, and was very responsive whenever we had questions before and during our stay.

Beautiful view of blue skies and sea
Terrific location and property! The views from the outside space are amazing. And there is plenty of space outside to enjoy the views! Six of us were very comfortable - enough room/privacy and perfect amenities - e.g., snacks, coffee/tea, pool towels, toiletries. And the property is within easy walking distance of towns and restaurants.
Judith was very helpful and responsive - she helped arrange a half day sunset cruise with the Santorini Yachting Club that was awesome. And, Judith handled our transfers - we arrived early the first day and because we were too early to get into the property, our driver George gave us a tour of the island for five hours and we saw so much - archeological dig, Santos winery, town of Fira - it was a great way to spend the time before we could get in.
One thing to be aware of is that Santorini has a lot of steps! and the property has some steep and uneven steps. They should be very manageable for most people - just something to be aware of if you are traveling with someone who has bad knees or is elderly.

Left us speechless!
Where to even begin! Our stay at By The Mill was one of the top highlights of our trip to Greece. From the minute we booked our vacation at By the Mill, Judith went above and beyond to help us coordinate activities and reservations for the trip. She gave us amazing recommendations for a private catamaran cruise and a wine tasting - both of which we did and had an absolutely amazing time. She was so helpful in coordinating our arrival/departure and for any transportation we needed during our stay. Her recommended driver - George, was wonderful and very accommodating. Now for the house, the minute we walked through the oversized wooden doors our jaws were on the ground. The views are beyond breathtaking and something out of the dream. I was traveling with my three grown children and husband, the house was extremely spacious. My son even had his own private pad on the second level, which he was thrilled about! Judith has a cleaning service come everyday which I don’t believe is a requirement for VRBO homes but was certainly a welcomed feature. Our family will never forgot the gorgeous sunsets viewed from the house. We practically felt like celebrities with our private villa sunset views. This is not to be taken for granted since in Oia many tourists have to walk to that side of the town and stand in a crowd to catch the sunset. Judith, we can not thank you enough for opening your gorgeous home to us and we hope we can come back for another stay in the future!

Perfektes Haus in allerbester Lage von Oia
Oia ist sicherlich der schönste Ort auf Santorini und das Haus ist bestimmt eine der besten Möglichkeiten dort zu wohnen. Es liegt fast am westlichen Ende des Ortes in ruhiger Lage, aber mit direkter Anbindung zu den Geschäften etc. Ein sehr nettes Restaurant ist 30 Meter entfernt, ein Supermarkt vielleicht in 50 Metern zu erreichen.
Der Kontakt zu den Eigentümern ist sehr gut, man wird mit einer Flasche Wein, vielen Snacks, Obst etc. sehr liebevoll empfangen.
Jeden Tag kommt eine Dame, die alles sehr akribisch grundreinigt und Ordnung schafft (falls notwendig). Alle zwei Tage kümmert sich jemand um den Pool (wenn auch sehr früh am Morgen), so dass man einfach nur genießen kann.
Das Haus ist sehr charmant und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Es gibt auch einen überdachten, sehr schönen Essplatz. Die Sicht ist wirklich nahezu perfekt! Während sich jeden Abend in den Gassen von Oia die Massen drängen um den Sonnenuntergang zu sehen, kann man gemütlich auf der Terrasse oder einem anderen Platz im Haus sitzen und dort das Schauspiel in Ruhe anschauen.
Die Küche ist klein und praktisch, allerdings für den Hobbykoch eher weniger geeignet. Wir haben einmal gekocht und es ging, aber es handelt sich mehr um eine Küche für Snacks, Frühstück etc. In Oia gibt es aber sicherlich auch genügend Restaurants - und wer kochen möchte, kann dies eben auch tun...
Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und waren jedes Mal nach dem geschäftigen Treiben im Ort glücklich wieder zurück in unserer Ruheoase
zu sein und hinter uns die Tür schließen zu können.
Judith kümmert sich um alles - Transfer, Mietwagen etc. und steht für Fragen jederzeit zur Verfügung.
Wir würden hier immer wieder wohnen und können das Haus empfehlen.

We LOVED our stay here. Beautifully furnished and the view is unbelievable. Judith and Theo were very accommodating. The only problem was we didn't want to leave the house and didn't see slit of Santorini as a result - but no regrets. I would definitely recommend this, 5 stars all the way

Our family of five adults stayed at By the Mill for four days and had the most incredible vacation yet! The location is perfect and the villa itself has everything anyone could ask for. Judith is a fantastic host that makes your stay unforgettable, from leaving all sorts of snacks and drinks when you arrive to fixing any little issue that can crop up. The villa itself is breathtakingly beautiful, from the decor to the location to the sunsets you are able to view away from the crowds. The location is key as you are able to walk to all the Oia has to offer. Judith was wonderful about organizing our rides to and from the airport, as well as reserving a private cruise with Santorini Yacht Club for us. We are counting down the days until we can return!

Breathtaking in every way
Our family of 5 had the best time ever in Santorini and we all agree it was because this place was so special. My two older kids (21,18) and our 11 year old appreciated the location, the sunsets, the views, the pool, and most of all every detail of this spectacular home. Without a doubt, best place to stay in Santorini!
So many great things to say about this villa, that I don't even know where to start.
Judy is an amazing host, from beginning to end (and even after we left when we realized we left behind a cellphone - she overnighted it to our next destination immediately!).
The house itself is gorgeous - tastefully decorated, and perfect for a family or large group. 3 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms - all with beautiful views of the water. The pool is the perfect place to relax, and the views are out of the world. The breakfast nook is the most pleasant way to start your mornings looking out to the gorgeous views. Judy left a whole bunch of things for us to welcome us - a basket full of snacks including some greek sweets and baked goods, fruits, beer, wine, and ouzo! So thoughtful.
The villa itself is located in a prime spot in Santorini, on the cliffs in Oia. Within a 3 minute walking distance to a mini-market where we were able to get some bread and small items for breakfast. Lots of restaurants, shops, galleries, all within walking distance of the villa. We ate lunch at Amoudi bay one of the days which is a walk dawn from the villa; you can take a donkey ride on the way back up if you chose to!
The sunsets from the villa are spectacular! You'll see many people lining up against the walls of Oia a couple of hours before sunset trying to get the best spot, and feel like you're one of the lucky few who can watch the sun go down from the poolside or rooftop.
The slight negative thing I would note about the house is that there are a flight of uneven stairs, about 12 of them, from the entrance of the property to the rooms. This might be a pain for really young children or elderly folk. With that being said, we had a group of two 70+ adults and a 9 year old child in our group that were fine. They just walked up and down slowly and were extra careful.
Other than that minor cadence, the house is just perfect. There's AC in every room if you need it during the hot summer months, daily maid service which is a bonus, as well as all the top notch amenities. Judy and her husband really put a lot of thought into this rental.
If you ever need a place to stay in Santorini, look no further! You won't have any regrets staying at By the Mill, and it will most likely be one of your highlights of your trip!
