Nothing...

This is a summary of the many problems I encountered dealing with “Chateau Prudhomme” through YouRent.com. I booked the stay on March 14, 2021 through Booking.com. It was for a period of 6 days, from August 1 through August 7, 2021 for $1824.39. It was for “5 BR – Sleeps 10! Best Location next to French Quarter!” at 2422 Chartres Street in New Orleans. There were many attractive features, including a pool and hot tub. The most important feature was walking distance to the French Quarter, a primary reason we chose this property. We thought we were all set and began planning our vacation. Then, a week before departure, we received by email a “check in form” for an entirely different property! This alternate property was in a completely different part of the city (more later) 8.5 miles from the French Quarter. No pool, no hot tub, obviously not within walking distance, in a very high violent crime area. NOT COMPARABLE at all to the contracted property. I replied by email that this was not the property we had reserved…no response. Then I began calling or attempting to call. I played phone games for days. When we finally was able to talk to a real person, we got no explanation of why things were changed and we were informed that they had the right to change properties. They refused to cancel the booking or refund our money. We ultimately decided not to stay there. In summary, this was a TERRIBLE experience. I believe that “bait & switch” tactics were used, describing a desirable property, pretty pictures, nice handbook. Then, conveniently well after the refund period, they make an unauthorized switch with no explanation to a property that is MUCH LESS DESIRABLE and NOT COMPARABLE. This sort of fraud is generally illegal and certainly unethical. Communication was extremely poor, vague and evasive, with multiple unkept promises to “get back” to me. This entire process was completely unprofessional and reflects poorly on any company involved.

We actually didn't have any catered breakfast or any of the meals. But we did make ourselves some meals most days. I'm ready to take my family back to stay for another week.

There was a lack of communication while we were on our way to New Orleans. The house that we were supposed to stay in had an issue that needed fixed and we weren't told about it until we reached the property. It group was given an upgrade due to the inconvenience and I believe it was a better location.

Close to everything! Pool! Friendly staff! They help celebrate my birthday with cake!

Just wish there was a bigger fridge.

Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the property shown or described. The property I booked was not the property I was directed to. The place I did visit was a horrible, dirty mess with no amenities. An event space that was being passed off as a residential property. I was highly disappointed that I was tricked by the property owners.

The location was great! However, there were so many things that went wrong before it got better. Even the staff members started off wrong. But we were able to find some really great people that worked here after two days and they made our stay better. I wouldn't stay here again though.

The fact that we had to stand outside in the dark for 15 minutes because we never received the house code. Also, the house in the picture is NOT the house you reserve. It's just part of the property which is a false advertisement!! We also found our room to be dirty, trash in the cans from a previous stay, pop bottles under the bed, and dusty as heck!! This room was not worth the price I paid, we also found out 3 days before arrival there was a 1,000 dollar deposit which was charged like $1500. This whole experience was very stressful but we made it through.
