The place is very calm and peaceful and perfect for stargazing.
The owner Manuel is very friendly too, and the rooms are comfy and brand new.
All good, maybe some bottles of water in the room to fight thirsty during the night would be great. But that’s a very minimal appointment

Simpatia da proprietária, D Manuela que fez tudo para nos sentirmos em casa. Instalações top. Fomos muito bem acolhidos igualmente pela Branca e pela bebe pastora, rafeiras alentejanas muito carinhosas. A paz, os animais, as estrelas á noite. Lindo.Pequeno almoço fantástico.

Beautiful location on the hill with amazing views. A sense of calm and quiet to relax. you have to drive about 3km our of Portel on unmade road to get to the property which is part of a working farm . The room was a good size and furnished in quaint traditional style. Manuela was a lovely host and we really appreciated her flexibility for us to have an early breakfast on departure. Breakfast was superb .
The pool was out of our service at our visit .

Hosts: delightful. Room: unique, spotless, and comfortable. Surroundings: lush. Goats, sheep, and puppies: adorable. Meals: delicious. Location: a bit out of the way but worth the drive. In all, a memorable stay. Obrigado, Herdade Vale de Cabras.
WiFi is available if you need it, but I think it could improve with individual hot spots.

A lovely stay in a peaceful location. The kids loved wandering around the farm, patting the dogs, cats and goats. Huge and very tasty breakfast. Lovely view of the stars at night.

Location was great with a great and spacious appartement. The bed might be a bit small for some but for us it was great. It's nicely located next to a small town with a good restaurant and a nice castle. Breakfast was good and our hosts where great too!

Location was wonderful. Solitude in the heart of the Alentejo. Manuela and entire staff is excellent. Very clean, 1st class bedding. Breakfast is excellent. This is a working farm. The hiking on the property is excellent.

Spending three days in Herdade Vale de Cabras felt like a well deserved gift after one year and a half like the one we all had. The place is wonderful, the sight from every angle in breathtaking, the pool is clean (don’t believe previous reviews, they probably had one bad day, I can assure that it was perfectly maintained) and right above the hill, making your afternoons of relax look like a postcard. Moreover, Manuela is a wonderful host and a beautiful soul, she’ll make you feel at home and help you with everything you need, from breakfast to whereabouts advices, and all of this giving you the best of heartwarming smiles for free (also a great cook, remember to ask in advance to have at leas one dinner in).
Bonus: if you love animal there’s many of them, and some are extremely loving and entertaining.

Beautiful view over the surrounding landscape, very friendly owner who gave us nice recommendations (best nearby restaurants, Monsaraz town, among others), traditional architecture and decoration. Abundant and freshly baked breakfast.
The shower in our room has seen better days.
