This is more of an experience than just a hotel. You sign up for a place to stay and a private guide, and from that moment on, you're going to see a lot of the Amazon rain forest in its various forms. Included are also three meals in the restaurant, the latter of which are also part of the experience - you get introduced to a number of tropical fruits at least I hadn't heart about before, and things are put nicely together. As part of the trip, which you negotiate with your guide, you can go fishing and then have your catch cooked. We did this with catfish and piranhas (yes!).
Our guide Larry was amazing. Very knowledgeable and attentive to any changes in the plans (especially since we're traveling with our child).
No hot water in the shower (though this was OK most of the time since it's so hot outside). Electricity is available in the evening between 6 and 9 PM. Since this is the rainforest, be aware of big insects and arachnids getting into your room. :)

This was a once in a lifetime experience and libertad jungle lodge exceeded our expectations. Our guide was Manolo and our boat driver was Raul, and they were both so knowledgeable about the jungle and gave us a true Lu unforgettable experience!

This was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the Peruvian Amazon. I was so impressed with how the eco lodge functioned as part of the local Libertad community. Our tour guides Gomir and Norman were exceptional and shared with us so much knowledge about Amazonian plants and animals. The food was incredible and catered to me as a vegetarian. The daily tours were completely catered to us and what we wanted to see and Gomir and Norman always made us feel incredibly safe. We are in awe of the Peruvian Amazon and feel so fortunate that the Libertad community are protecting it. Thank you so much for this experience!
There was nothing I didn’t like - but just to note there is only 3 hours of electricity per day in the evenings, the rooms are simple, and there is no wifi. This felt like a very authentic experience.

This place was everything I needed. The facilities are basic but functional and comfortable. It was all about the people and the people and the location. Our boat(and nature)guy and our guide Manolo were so cool crazy fun, informative and engaging. And everyone in the community and lodge where so welcoming.
Not something which bothered me but if you are the type of person who requires some specific treats be aware that there is nothing available here - bring them with.

We loved everything and have fallen in love with Libertad and the story of the community and the lodge. The area is very remote, so peace is granted. The staff is fantastic - from the guides, especially ours, Remigio, to the boat drivers, the kitchen staff, Manuel, el jefe, Oli and the rest of the people involved.
Tourism brings in money with which Manuel and his team can continue to provide materials to build new infrastructure for Libertad as they have done in the past - by bringing purified water a few years ago, building the local school, or paving the streets. Everything they do is for the benefit of the community. The money raised is also used for scholarships and incentives so that children in the community can continue their studies. We spotted other lodges across the river during our stay, but none of these is investing their earnings in people beyond the owners; all of them are private businesses.
I’m not sure where I read that someone said that the food provided at the lodge wasn’t enough; I had issues finishing everything on my plate. It was delicious and very healthy! There’s always some protein, carbs, vegetables, legumes and fruit, always paired with fresh Amazon fruit juice.
We had the chance to go when the river was still covering most of the area, so our excursion mainly were by boat. We could see many animals, learn about medicinal plants, see the Milky Way at night, watch the sunset surrounded by dolphins and have a dip where the Amazon was born. We managed to fish some piranha that we then ate. I now feel like I can survive by myself!
You’re in the jungle, so you need to go mentally prepared for bugs and critters. You may be uncomfortable because you’re not used to them, but this is the reality of the place you’re going to visit The Amazon has dangers, but none of the critters you may find in the lodge are dangerous.
Everything was absolutely perfect.

Everything was amazing. The price was the cheapest we could find, and with that, you get Transport from/to the airport, 3 meals a day, 3-4 tours a day (lasting 2-4 hours). Our guide (Remigio) was amazing. He knew exactly where to go to find specific animals, fruit, and a camping spot; he also had sharp eyes and could spot tiny animals over 200 meters away. The lodge itself is in a little village, full of happy and welcoming people. The food was made from scratch, and two nights we actually ate the food we caught earlier that day. If you want an adventure filled 3-5 days in the heart of jungle life, then look no further.
Nothing.

Overall a great experience, our guide May is very knowledgeable and is able to spot wild animals at any time. He is also very patient and hilarious. Food is good, I enjoyed every meal, especially the one our boat driver cooked in the mid of nowhere (a kind of fried fish fillet). Personally I think meals could be better with more vegetable added. It is important to use the boots they provide, and don’t forget your mosquito repellent (and a hat with mosquito net). It is a community-owned property, so you feel like you are contributing a little bit by visiting the village. I would like to recommend this place to my other friends if any of them wants to explore the Amazon.
Nothing.

We loved the kindness of the staff, the peaceful surroundings and the wonderfully communal atmosphere. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and could spot wildlife in the far recesses of the jungle. Great care was taken with the food - everything was beautiful and the intense flavours of local foods were a real treat. Our room was very clean as was the entire lodge. I highly recommend Libertad Jungle Village. This business supports a wonderful village community.
We loved everything!
