I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casal de Petra, a delightful retreat nestled in the picturesque Mallorcan village of Petra. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene ambiance, rich history, and warm hospitality that this enchanting haven has to offer. The location of Casal de Petra is nothing short of idyllic. Petra is a charming, traditional village that embodies the essence of rural Mallorca. With its narrow, cobblestone streets and beautifully restored sandstone buildings, the village transports you back in time, allowing you to experience the authentic Mallorcan way of life. Surrounded by lush green countryside and with stunning views of the nearby Tramuntana Mountains, the setting is both tranquil and visually captivating. Casal de Petra itself exudes a timeless charm that perfectly complements its surroundings. The property has been thoughtfully restored, with an emphasis on preserving the traditional Mallorcan character, while also incorporating all the comforts and amenities that modern travelers desire. The combination of rustic stone walls, wooden beams, and stylish, understated furnishings creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. One of the highlights of my stay was exploring the local area on foot, taking in the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant local culture. Petra boasts a number of historical sites, including the birthplace of Fray Junipero Serra, the founder of several California missions. The village also offers a selection of cozy cafes and delightful local restaurants, serving up delicious traditional Mallorcan cuisine made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Casal de Petra truly is a hidden gem that encapsulates the beauty, history, and charm of rural Mallorca. I highly recommend this enchanting retreat to anyone seeking a tranquil and authentic experience in the heart of the island.

Parking is a few streets away but hey , it’s a village with narrow streets. Get over it.

Perfect for a short stay, right in the middle of town near all the bars and restaurants. shared kitchen had most things you will need (an oven/hob might have been useful but combi microwave did the job) nice pool and pool area. Had to ask a few times about changing the towels (left them in the designated place but they were not changed) however a quick message to the reception and it was very quickly sorted (only changed 5 days a week but didn't say which 5 days!) You can't park outside the hotel but only 2 streets over there is plenty of parking so this is not an issue at all. Very happy with the hotel and happy to recommend this to others.

Just had an issue when the shower was cold one day and was told "I was mistaken and that it was hot" - this just made us laugh but of course this is not the response we expected, luckily this was only on one occasion. Can't fault the hotel other than this point and would be happy to return. Note if going in winter that like most places like this one they are built for the hot summer temperatures, so when it is 4 degrees outside then it's not much more inside as there is no core heating - so just to be aware you may need an extra jumper or two :)

it was FREEZING COLD when I arrived and the heating remote control did not function. since no one is on site, I had to send a WhatsApp message and got instructed to read the general information leaflet. much later I got instructions per WhatsApp but no further follow up. finally I managed to get the heating working by using the batteries of the remote control of the television. but it took too much time to warm up the room so I hardly slept because it was just too cold.

The ambience was amazing. The terasse was beautiful and cozy. There is a small gym that has everything you need. The pool was super clean, as well as the room. The kitchen is fully stacked and you have a lot of fridge space. Two small supermarkets within walking distance.

very lovely hotel in a quite and scenery area, if you have a car you can easily get any beach in the eastern part of Mallorca. We loved our stay in Casal de Petra, the room was big and very clean, had comfortable bed and a lot of nice interior details. definitely is worthy to stay in!

Facilities, location excellent. Quality conversion, using top materials and done in excellent taste. No tat or junk. Excellent accommodation for cyclists. Lovely Pool. Close to bars and restaurants. Catering facilities excellent.

The set up was a bit too intimate for us, this would have been better if the other guests were friendlier. Kitchen & or room definitely needed a kettle for tea. The town was very beautiful but very quiet, not many shops & only a few restaurant cafes with limited food options.

Nicely located in the charming vila of Petra, comfortable room, nice system of sharing kitchen and nice small area with tables and pool. The building is beautiful and we thought it has a great concept and value.

Our room was in the front of the building, we would hear the sound of the door code system late at night and early in the morning ..

We didn’t like the total lack of staff, which makes the experience very impersonal. We would have imagined a person welcoming us. It was a little bit like a dorm with a common kitchen. Petra is a nice small village, but a little bit isolated.

The hotel felt very impersonal. Also, after you made your reservation you got an message with a lot of information and the instruction for me as a guest felt very stingy.

Petra is a beatiful small town, feels more local than rest of Mallorca. The location is perfect. There is also a common kitchen where you can prepare basic meals, no stove though.

Very cute traditional Mallorca style house, with kitchen, pool, outdoor sitting area and even a gym. didn’t meat the staff, but they always responded very promptly to every message.

the beds separated and kept slipping on the floor, I never saw anyone that worked there. when I asked for a late checkout they told me I could leave my bags out in the hallway- in the open unlocked area. the location isn’t great as there are only 3 places to eat in the whole town.
