We could not stay at this property due to some issues with cable and internet. Best of Canaan gave us another rental to stay. Great company. The new location was great. I think because it was last minute I forgot to tell not PET property. The new property had lots of dog hair . It’s expected for houses with pets policy. Anyway, I do recommend to rent from Best of Canaan. Great service .

Great resort location in the foothills of the mountains. Excellent place to get away from its all. Property turned out to be more dated inside then advertised online and could use renovations and updates from furniture to appliances. But the price is fair and place is in a very good location.

This by far is one of the worst homes/cabins I have ever rented. For reference, I live in a log cabin. This was is a glorified hunting cabin. The house smells of wet molded, the wall are nailed up 4x8 sheets of ply wood, the back screen door is duct taped in, and some of the fixtures are falling apart. This is NOT a Premier Host rental. The rental says no smoking and there are cigarettes butts all over the back yard. There was even an empty cigarette box in the grill on the back porch. The photographer that took the photos did an amazing job of over exposing the photos to hide the dark and dank look of this hunting shed of a house. Also, you may want to mention somewhere that there is NOT A/C. I would never recommend this house to anyone and am shocked at all the good reviews this place has on your site. I will definitely be giving an honest review and make sure to let people know the true conditions of this place. When we checked out, I said I was disappointed in the cabin and the lady behind the counters response was, well it's a cabin.

There are 3 things that can be approved on. 1: Not enough hot water for 9 people. 2: No place to put groceries. 3: Not enough utensils ie.... Forks Knives spoons sharp knives for meat also very few cooking utensils. Last but not lease it is very dusty from the road.

The home's layout was exactly as the photos showed. It was spacious, with plenty of bedrooms, lots of dry wood for both indoor and outdoor fires, and despite being in a community with lots of other homes, felt secluded and private. It was easily accessible to some great trails and not at all far from downtown Davis and Thomas. Suggestions: There were a LOT of ants in the kitchen. I know this is a cabin experience and nature will sometimes find its way inside, but we ended up purchasing some ant traps on our first morning there and by that evening they had really cleared up, so it seems that the cleaning crews could consider replacing ant traps between guests to make sure they remain effective. We were asked to load and run the dishwasher prior to our departure, but had only been provided three dishwasher tablets for the duration of our stay. Six adults cooking and eating in for three days means we used our 3-tablet allotment on the end of our second night and weren't able to run any more dishes. I would suggest if they ask this of their guests that they be a little more generous with the soap. To that end, the sponge they provided for washing dishes was clearly not fresh and I think also should be replaced in between guests. The mattress for the double bed in the first bedroom on the upper level was so soft that I honestly thought I was climbing into a water bed at first. They should really consider replacing that, I ended up sleeping in the much more comfortable bunk bed during my stay. The kitchen had mostly all of the supplies you'd need but it could have stood to have a larger cutting board and another cutting knife (our group did a lot of our own cooking and that would have made that just a little bit easier). Comments are meant to be constructive feedback. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend the cabin to anyone who was looking for a nice getaway in the Davis area.

Nice central place to stay in the Canaan Valley and Davis area. House was clean and great for several families with each bedroom having it's own bathroom. Kitchen and dining room has a great layout for hanging out around the big countertop. Wood stove was great, but make sure to bring fire starter and a lighter. Living room has room for lots of people. The layout of the living room and dining room in the same general carpeted room was nice for everyone to spread out but also be together. Nice wooded lot with decent privacy to nearby houses. Bonus: easy access to miles of great hiking trails in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area by driving to the top of the Timberline community mountain.

It was perfectly adequate as a place to come back to after a long day of skiing.

We stayed here for our annual snow trip and had a great time. We live at the beach so we always like to spend a week in the snow each winter and this spot definitely fulfilled that! There was at least a foot of snow on the ground when we got there and then it snowed 4-5 days while we were there. The scenery outside the cabin was beautiful. Nice and quiet and peaceful and plenty of room for our kids to play safely. The gated community is quiet and well maintained, and the location is perfect for going to either Canaan valley state park or black water falls, which was our favorite for hiking and sledding. The cabin itself was great too. 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 downstairs. Nice wide open kitchen when you walk in with laundry area right there and plenty of hangers to hang all your snow gear up. Perfect set up for a snowy winter location. The heat and fire place worked great so staying warm inside after coming in from the cold was easy. Our only complaint was that since it’s a pet friendly cabin, the couches and some of the blankets were covered with a lot of dog hair. Also to note, we did not have a 4 wheel drive vehicle and had a little difficulty getting around the neighborhood and driveway after all the snow fall. We managed fine, but it would have been nice. Otherwise we had a great week and would definitely stay here again!

Little Doe is great for kids, convenient to all the winter activities, and had everything we needed. We had a lovely stay in this chalet -like cabin, it was clean, cozy and a fun place to be with kids. It has a fun design with a gallery and 3 bedrooms (each with 3 beds). The property managers were responsive and very nice. The only "dissapointment" was that the ad stated that the cabin was very close to the Timberline slopes. However, it did not mention that Timberline ski resort was closed for the season. Luckily, Canaan valley ski resort is a 10 minute car ride away, so we had our ski vacation nevertheless.

The house is almost fully carpeted which makes it great for young kids. The location is very close to White Grass and Canaan Valley Resort and easily accessible to all Davis and Thomas have to offer. The property and available amenities were outstanding, you didn't want for anything! The management company had excellent customer service and was able to replace our outside grill within minutes of my calling. There was plenty of room for 9 of us stay and even gave everyone some alone time if needed. We were minutes away from Blackwater Falls, plenty of hiking locations and sightseeing areas. The only thing that was a little rough is the mattresses were very hard to sleep on. They were not very comfortable. All and all we had an excellent time and will definitely be coming back again!

The house was very conveniently located near the gated entrance and it took less than 15 minutes to get to the park. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the kitchen and comfortable space. The deck provided a terrific place to relax and watch the leaves change. The property management company could not be more helpful.
