Lovely Stylish Chalet, Stunning Views of Mont Blanc, Nordic Bain, Near to Skiing
Le Refuge est un chalet traditionnel de style alpin qui a été récemment décoré et meublé, combinant les merveilleuses caractéristiques en bois avec un design élégant et contemporain, résultant en un chalet charmant et très confortable.
Le rez-de-chaussée comprend un salon et une salle à manger décloisonnés, séparés par un feu de bois moderne. La table à manger peut accueillir 12 personnes et il y a une cuisine entièrement équipée ainsi qu'un petit bureau. La salle de jeux spacieuse peut également être utilisée comme une chambre double et il y a une salle de douche et wc séparés.
Le premier étage a une chambre double avec douche et une deuxième chambre double (peut également être composée de lits jumeaux), les deux chambres s'ouvrant sur le balcon orienté au sud avec une vue magnifique sur L'Aiguille du Midi et le Mont Blanc. Il y a une autre chambre simple, une salle de bains familiale (baignoire et douche) et un wc séparé.
Un escalier / échelle en bois mène au deuxième étage et un loft spacieux et ouvert avec 6 matelas sous l'avant-toit. Nos enfants adorent ça! Le chalet peut accueillir confortablement 7 adultes et 4 à 6 enfants.
La cuisine, la salle à manger, le salon et la salle de jeux bénéficient tous de portes ouvrant sur le jardin plein sud qui entoure le chalet et il y a des terrasses en bois sur les parties sud et est du jardin. Le jardin borde le ski du fond et offre beaucoup d'espace pour faire de la luge et jouer dans la neige. C'est vraiment un endroit merveilleusement paisible et magnifique.
Il est facile d'accéder au Grand Montets telepherique soit par une courte promenade. Alternativement, le chalet est à environ 100m de l'arrêt de bus et du service régulier de ski-bus de haut en bas de la vallée vers les différents domaines skiables (Grand Montets, Le Tour, Flégère, Brévent, Les Houches). Il est également facile de traverser le tunnel du Mont Blanc pour passer une journée à skier à Courmayeur. Il y a un parking pour 2-3 voitures dans le jardin.
Le joli village d'Argentière est à 10 minutes à pied ou en voiture et propose une sélection de restaurants, bars, boutiques (dont un supermarché et deux boulangers).

I can't recall how many times we have stayed at the chalet now, but once again our stay was absolutely amazing. The chalet is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Everything is on hand to cook for the whole group and now there's the extra bonus of a lovely bakery at the end of the drive!! Already booking to go back to our home in France (we wish!!)

Had a great time at Le Refuge. Did not ski Grands Montets as often as expected, but still loved this quiet spot. Yes, you can ski home from Grands Montets. The hot tub is great, as is the bakery next door, Mont Choux.

Great chalet for families
I would highly recommend this chalet if you are looking for somewhere for 2 or 3 families. We stayed there with 3 families of mainly teenage children and the facilities in the chalet were more than ample. The Norwegian Bain was so good even in the cold weather. There was great communication from the host throughout our stay, nothing was too much for them.
The chalet is in an excellent location for the Grand Montets and Le Tour ski areas. One little tip we have to pass on is if you have older children you must visit FUBAR in Argentiere. It’s a bar but they allow younger people in and have table tennis, pool, darts and a rodeo bull to keep them amused.
If we ever go back to Chamonix as a large group we would definitely try to book this chalet again.

Perfect....again!
Another brilliant trip to the La Refuge. As usual everything was available for a perfect stay. I'm running out of positive things to say!
Ideal spot to walk to Chosalet for the nursery slopes (and a beer), drive up to GM for steep and north faced slopes, a few steps from the bus stop to the other mountains and I've now found out you can run the track next to the ski du fond to Le Lavancher to the right (up a big hill!!) and up the side of the Pierre a ric home run to the left.

Excellent property, great stay
A great chalet for a group of friends. Maggie was an excellent host, answering all of our many questions promptly and fully. She was very helpful and the chalet had everything needed for a ski holiday for our large group including sledges which the children loved making use of after a day on the slopes. Thankyou Maggie!

Excellent chalet in quiet location
This chalet worked out perfectly for our group of 5 adults on a ski trip. Tucked away on a quiet street, the bus stop is very close and provides easy access to the entire valley. From Grand Montets it is possible to ski back to the house. Covered parking is a plus.
Maggie and Wendy are easy to contact and take great care of their guests!

Perfect spot in Chamonix Valley
We really appreciated this well appointed and perfectly located chateau. Quiet spot off the road, big kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water. It is truly charming and backs to a small pasture and the forest. You can walk into the village of Argentières on a beautiful trail, and access a number of trails for running and hiking. Excellent!

Family and Work Trip from the US - lovely stay
We just loved the stay at La Refuge. Everything about it. It was a work trip for my wife, which we turned into a family and friends vacation trip. The location near Chaminix yet far enough away to feel in the country was perfect for our needs. We loved having the horses next door, and relaxing in the Bain. We may very well look to do a repeat of the work trip for my wife next year, and if so, we know exactly where we'd like to stay again. Thanks Maggie, Wendy and Simon, for the great experience.

Comfortable, spacious, fabulous location
We’ve had a lovely stay, 11 people comfortable with room to spare, we’ve even managed to lose each other at times. The house is lovely, extremely well equipped in the kitchen and dining areas. The washing machine was a blessing too. We have all enjoyed the hot tub and sitting out admiring the view. A real gem of a property.

Wonderful Chalet, Wonderful Location, Wonderful Owners!
Visited the Chalet for a week ski trip with our friends and were we happy! First of all in the month or so leading up to the trip Maggie gave us a treasure trove of information regarding the area, including where to ski, where to eat, and all kinds of extra information above and beyond what I would consider normal! It really helped to get our initial planning for the trip figured out! The Chalet is perfect. The size is good for about 13 people comfortably. The kitchen and dining room make for a perfect place to unwind with a group dinner after a day on the slopes. The new hot tub is spectacular! We loved the smell of cedar as we relaxed on the tub after skiing. The view from the hot tub is spectacular. We loved looking out from the tub as a group on the Aguili du Midi and Mont Blanc and reminisce about our previous day skiing the Valle Blanche. Sitting in the sun while the weather was beautiful in Chamonix on the patio was also highly memorable. As for the location we loved being able to ski from the Grand Montets ski area directly to our Chalet and then cleaning up and hopping directly into the hot tub! Finally even though we mistakenly broke a mirror as one of our group was getting ready in the morning Maggie decided to waive the cost as she was keen that our experience remained perfect. All in all a wonderful and memorable experience. If/when we come back to the Chamonix valley we will definitely want to stay with Maggie again, and you will definitely want to as well!!!!

Even Better 2nd Time!
Our 2nd winter visit to this chalet. Everything is perfect!
The brand new cedar hot tub was a big hit with the whole party (4x adults 4x kids). Loads of space for everyone to relax after a day skiing. The chalet is tucked away off the beaten track but all of the ski areas are easily accessible. GM is two minutes away on the bus and you can ski back to the garden from the home run.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook in every night if you wanted to.
All in all the perfect chalet in the best place in the world - in my opinion :-)

Amazing Chalet!
We rented the chalet with a group of friends for 4 days prior to a Haute Route trip. The chalet was a perfect place for our group of 8. The location was very convenient near Argentiere and a quick bus ride into Chamonix. Everything was very clean and in working order. The chalet was very well appointed with everything we could need. I think the best word to describe the chalet is charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I look forward to returning with my family for a another holiday. Communication leading up to our trip was also excellent.

Fantastic Family Chalet
Brilliant chalet for families.
Tucked away in Les Grassonnets but only a couple of minutes walk to the bus stop to Chamonix and all of the ski areas. You can actually ski straight home on the ski du fond from Grand Montets (some scooting for boarders).
Loads of equipment in the kitchen to cook with, which we did most evenings.
Clean and immaculately kept the children love bed hanging out in the playroom and sleeping in the loft.
Lots of storage space outside for all of your equipment and space out the back to take the children sledging in the afternoon. You can also walk up to the chosalets night ready area and sit in the sun with a drink while they safely whizz up and down the lift.
Basically a perfect week, we wouldn’t hesitate recommending staying here...

Charming mountain chalet, close to busstop that brings you to a variety of skiing resorts.
Cosy and comfortable mountain chalet.
Nice sitting area with couch and fireplace.
Kitchen and dining area little bit crampy with full (13) occupation. We used one of the outdoor tables to extend the dining table, and that worked fine.
Warm contact with Maggie, the owner, who gives a lot of usefull information about the area.

perfect lovely chalet in the heart of Chamonix
We have a very pleasant vacation in the Chalet . The house is big and there's enough for more than 9 persons . It's comfortable with the whole things we need for cooking and bedding . It's very easy to find the house with the address and GPS . The Owner Mrs. Neylor and her friend Wendy are very nice , easy to contact and pay attention for your staying in the house . They give all the details and have advices for retaurants , shopping , and for the bakery nearby the village . The house is well located , near the lift of Argentière ; The other ones are not too far , with your car you can go through the valley of Chamonix , and have access to others lifts to do a lot o hiking on the top with a marvellous view of the Mont Blanc . Thanks for all , and I recommand this house to others who want to visit the area of Chamonix in summer as we do , or a in winter time for skiing, it should be marvellous too !

Très joli chalet situé au pied de la montagne et proche des commerces et lieux de restauration.
Jardin agréablement exposé au soleil avec vue sur le Mont-Blanc!
Equipements et aménagement sont sans reproche. Seul petit bémol - mais nous sommes d'impardonnables accros! - l'absence de TV :-)
La météo favorable nous a permis de profiter quasiment chaque jour de superbes randos dans les environs.

Wonderful chalet perfectly located in Argentière
This was our second stay at the chalet and we had a wonderful time. The chalet is really comfortable with lot's of space. We appreciate that each kid had it's own room and we felt like home at the chalet. The kids enjoyed playing in the forest near the garden while we were enjoying a good glass of wine in front of the cheminey after a great days of skiing at the Grands Montets. The chalet is really close to the charming village of Argentière which makes it convenient for grocery shopping. The view from the upstairs room is just spectacular. In our opinion the chalet is one of the best deals in town.

Lovely spacious chalet with views of Mont Blanc
We stayed at Le Refuge for two weeks in August. The chalet is spacious with nice bedrooms, two of which have a wonderful view down the valley towards Mont Blanc. The chalet is the end of a lane, with open space around it. The quality of the furniture and other facilities is very high, with access to a washing machine, tumble drier and WiFi. It was a pleasure to deal with the owner - I would highly recommend this chalet to anyone for a summer or winter holiday.

Séjour plus qu'agréable
Nous conservons le souvenir d'un séjour réellement agréable. Le chalet, assez proche des lieux de ravitaillement, est conforme en tous points aux descriptif et photos. Situé dans un jardin au calme, il offre de jolies vues sur la campagne environnante et sur le Mont-Blanc. L'équipement est plus que complet et la literie confortable. Nos petits déjeuners sur la terrasse ensoleillée ont été un régal pour les yeux et les sens. Un endroit où nous aimerions certainement revenir!
