Perfect for large family get together.

Only stayed 3 nights but was a lovely break. Property was beautiful and we would love to come back in the summer so we could enjoy some of the outside facilities. I did send Kate a message about rebooking but as yet I have had no reply

This cottage is perfect for a family getaway. It is a close drive to Lincoln town centre. The welcome pack from the owner Kate was thoughtful and added an extra homely feel. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely house which suited our needs - two families with five children age 6 and under. The big dining table was really useful, as was having two baths. I didn't realise it wasn't walking distance from the village so you really need a car to get anywhere. It's a quick drive into Lincoln (we had to go in every day for a week and ideally would've stayed in town but couldn't find anywhere) and great for exploring the surrounding area. I enjoyed the peace and quiet!

Whilst we enjoyed our stay and the property was nicely decorated for Christmas we wouldn’t choose to stay here again. There are no facilities for small children at all and bar the main bedroom the other 4 double bedded rooms are too small to fit a travel cot. There is plenty of equipment in the kitchen but only a single oven, bit of a challenge cooking for 10! There isn’t really seating for 10 in the lounge either. Minimal information and the property is in need of a good clean and bit of minor maintenance. Having said all that, a quiet location with easy access to Lincoln.

Great cottage, very rural location and was absolutely perfect for a weekend away from it all

A beautiful house but looking tired ,great location, very peaceful, few issues with dust and cobwebs, living room small for 10 people, not happy at being asked to strip the beds and towels before we left, as a family we had a great break though

Place is in a really secluded area with great scenary with a cosy home feel. Was a great weekend.

Amazing time away at this beautiful cottage. Communication with Kate was brill and very efficient. Beautiful welcome basket and the flapjacks were the best, well so he children said! (the children ate them all!) The cottage itself was huge for all us family of 11 to stay. We celebrated a 10th, 33rd, and 60th birthday. Good size 5 bedrooms and bonus a shower in each bathroom, two being on suites! The kitchen and table was a big size with excellent storage for all the food/drinks! The gardens and surroundings were beautiful and could spot the red arrows on the Sunday which was lovely too. We had so much fun in the lovely garden in the beautiful sunshine. There was so many flys around due to the cornfields which were a pain and we filled a swimming pool up, an outside tap would of been brill but these did not disappoint in the cottage. We have already tried to rebook and hopefully be able to return soon. Fab cottage and the black bull in the town did amazing Sunday lunches. Thank you x

We had a lovely family long weekend. The cottage was spacious and well maintained. Loved the views. Very clean and welcoming. The welcome hamper was such a nice touch. The children could make as much noise as they wanted because we didn’t have close neighbours. Wonderful location and we loved Lincoln. Nice little specialist shops and a beautiful cathedral and so easy to get to. Shop assistants were so friendly and helpful. Would love to go back

We had a relaxing stay in this spacious house , which was ample for five adults who wanted almost seclusion . The only thing that did not make it excellent was the position as it had farm traffic and some light pollution from the security light opposite . The home itself was comfortable and homely and allowed space in and out to kick back . The big bonus was three displays by the red arrows over three days , because they are based half a mile away .

Whilst the house is isolated and stands surrounded by fields, it's a short drive away to the local village. There's a friendly pub in the village as well as a Co-Op (handy for those last minute items). The house is well equipped and very clean. Communication with the host was easy and replies were prompt. I would wholeheartedly recommend this house.

We have e mailed the owner twice since returning home and tried on at least two occasions to phone whilst at the property, but to no avail . All West facing windows were a problem. The weekend was windy, the noise of the wind whistling through the window frames,and,or badly fitting windows was terrible, and did cause problems for the children in our party who had great trouble getting some sleep.( In fact the adults were also complaining). The staircase is very difficult due to the lack of handrails, in fact our two year old fell down the stairs, (at the point of the bend). Thank goodness she was not hurt. In fact the staircase would benefit from child gates being fitted at the top and the bottom, along with the appropriate handrails. The cottage is in all other ways ideal. In fact if it wasn't so windy the cottage would have been idyllic , however the noise really was horrendous. The cottage was warm and comfortable. We did have to use the spare under bed mattress, however we were surprised that there was no bedding for this. We did take along a couple of sleeping bags "just in case", thankfully. We hope these comments will be viewed as constructive criticism ,and will be acted upon by the owners.

We hired the cottage over the Christmas period - loads of room, massive kitchen, large table, 5 lovely bedrooms all nicely decorated- lots of space outside too- location was good- the nearest village was a short drive away and had everything we needed- Lincoln is also a 15 min drive away - communication between the owner and ourselves from enquiry through to booking and Information leading up to check in day was quick and efficient- will definitely stay again- all members of the family had a wonderful time

Our family of 9 - age ranges from 2 years to 71 all had a great long weekend at Cliff Cottage. The house is perfect for large gatherings and the garden is very large and the children had a great fun playing ball games. The treats kindly left for us were enjoyed by all - especially the delicious cake. We could well be back again!

The cottage was located in a very quite area and approx 2 miles from shops and 15 min drive to a park & ride to get into Lincoln. The cottage contains everything that would be required for a weeks stay. Good quality all round.

Cliff Cottage is ideal for getting together with family or friends. It is perfectly situated on farm land well away from the main road thus ensuring a peaceful holiday. Lincoln is very close and we would suggest using the park and ride which is about 10 minutes away. However, it doesn't operate on a Sunday. The Cathedral and the Castle are a must see (a joint ticket saves money). If you love history we also highly recommend a visit to Gainsborough Old Hall (English Heritage). If you're looking for somewhere to dine out we suggest you try the Pyewipe Inn in Saxilby. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. It is situated alongside the Fossdyke canal and after dinner you can walk off some of the calories by taking a stroll along the canal to the Brayford Wharf in Lincoln. Although Cliff Cottage sleeps 10 in 5 bedrooms it would be a little 'cosy' with 10 adults in the lounge. We were a party of 6 and we had ample space. On a note of caution, we found the flooring throughout the downstairs to be very slippery. On several occasions we nearly fell over when stepping off the stairs onto the floor in the hall - even in bare feet. Some reviews have said that the cottage is hard to find and that their sat nav took them to the wrong place. Kate's instructions are perfect and it you follow them the cottage is in fact very easy to find.

The house was perfect for our family trip for a family wedding. There was plenty of space in the bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms for us all to get ready. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't too great, so we couldn't use the spacious garden, maybe next time! The treats Kate left us when we arrived were so helpful so we didn't have to run out to the shops. The house was sparkling clean and had everything we needed. We were so close to Lincoln and other lovely places but enjoyed the secluded location of the house. Thank you for having us, we hope to visit the lovely house and area again soon!

We rented Cliff Cottage for a family get together, and enjoyed our stay. The cottage is close to Lincoln (on a clear day you can see the towers of the cathedral from the upstairs windows) and is in a quite location. It's very close to RAF Scampton so when they are at home, you get to see the Red Arrows practicing their displays, from the kitchen windows. Kate,the owner, was responsive to enquires both before the stay and when we had an enquiry during our visit, and provided a thoughtful care package of bread, milk and eggs when we arrived. There were a few minor issues - the front door is incredibly difficult to unlock, and given that the house sleeps 10 it would be useful to have more than one key available (or a key safe) As other reviews have said , better signage would help, especially as sat nav puts the cottage on the wrong side of the road! (although the directions provided by Kate are accurate) The cottage is reasonably well equipped, although it would be useful if instructions for appliances and if things were checked more regularly - we had to clean the filter for the dishwasher before we could use it, for instance, and there are several doors which don't latch.. However, over all, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay here again.

Had a great week staying in cliff cottage. The house was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. It is close to Lincoln and a few minutes away from the park and ride which we found easier than trying to park in the city itself.Would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet but convenient place to stay.

Nicely decorated, lots of personal space and plenty of room to socialize together. Some lovely little touches like home made shortbread. Not too far out of Lincoln.

Had a lovely stay at Cliff Cottage. It was clean, warm and the beds were comfortable. As a group of friends getting together once a year, it was ideal for bedrooms and the large dining table in the spacious kitchen. The location was very quiet and relatively secluded - if you’re lucky, you might get a glimpse of a Red Arrow practicing its moves. We will definitely book again.

A really lovely holiday for a family celebration of a birthday. Loads of space for 8 of us in the house. Really close to Lincoln for a lovely day trip. Quite tricky to find so make sure you have Google maps on your phone!!

Lovely large cottage with lots of room for 9 of us. We loved the large kitchen with enough room for all of us to sit round the table, the comfy living room and the bedrooms, all of which had comfy beds. The cottage is on farm land and very quiet at night. You can see the runway at RAF Scampton from one of the upstairs bedrooms and we were lucky enough to see a few of the Red Arrows take off and circle round us a few times. It is only a short drive to Lincoln which is a lovely city, with the impressive cathedral and castle. The cottage is in a great position but the only downside is how expensive it is to get taxis to the local pub, which is only 5 minutes drive away. The food at the Black Bull in Welton was lovely though. We had a great time on our family get together at this cottage and I would recommend it to everyone.
