My son and I stayed here for 4 nights so we could explore the Grampians. The cottage was fabulous! Great location - a 20 minute walk into Halls Gap and if you go at night you’ll spot deer and wallabies. The cottage was very well equipped - had everything we need, the kitchen had every utensils imaginable (apart from egg cups but we had poached instead). Was lovely and warm, plenty of firewood. The bedrooms don’t have hearing but with the fire going open the doors and it heats the whole house. Joanne is helpful and brilliant with messaging

As some previous guests gave mentioned, an additional lamp or two in the living room would be beneficial - especially for reading. Some board games or books would be great (we took our own - but would be a nice touch) and a full length mirror somewhere would be helpful.

Bedding was not a great fit on the larger adult beds and electric blankets not the greatest. A few more instructions would have been helpful re the fire.

Such a beautiful, cosy house. It was a wild wintery weekend and we were so warm by the fire. Perfect place as a couple, and we’d love to come back with friends. Had everything we needed and was perfectly clean.

The only thing I’d suggest is to upgrade the lounge room couches and cushions, and to add another lamp in the lounge room.

This is a comfy little cottage with far more kitchen equipment than you normally get for which I was very grateful. It has the added bonus of a carport right outside the back door.

The only difficult part was warming up the house. The air con was set to 25 when we got there and although this is far too hot for us we thought we would warm up the house, get the fire going and turn it off. It didn't ever reach 25. I would say it didn't go over 18. It took a whole day to warm up the house using the fire but once warm it stayed that way. From then on I found it very comfortable although my daughter (from Qld) found it a little cold. This would not stop me from staying here again.

Omg, we actually booked Day Dream, but due to some maintenance issues, we were put in to Kingfisher 3. Wow, wow, wow ! Could not believe such a cosy, perfect cottage was going to be our home while in Halls Gap. Thankyou Jo, you were informative and there for our questions! We are returning and probably going to rent out Blue Wren as well for the 8 of us to be side by side cabins !! Thankyou for our lovely time there Jo xx

There's nothing we didn't like !! If I had to be very picky, it would be that there were too many cushions on main bed and on lounge ! But definitely nothing to complain about!

Lovely cosy cottage, nicely furnished and supplied with everything you could need,. Short drive or pleasant (longish) walk into the Gap centre. Joanne (host) was so helpful and answered any emails almost immediately. Plenty of wood supplied for the fire. Beds very comfortable and shower was great.

Please comply with the request to NOT feed the birds! The cockatoos in Halls Gap are as bad as seagulls and can be a real pest. Only one thing missing from the kitchen - egg cups!

Lighting inside the cottage was not too good. One of the globes was fused. Found reading not easy

The road leading to the cottage needs a bit of work otherwise no complaints.

Over bath/shower not suitable for people with mobility needs. Very difficult to get air into the bathroom, as window doesn't open. Hot water heater too close too bathroom window. Needs more light in bathroom.

A lovely comfortable and cosy place to stay. Wood fire was great and plenty of hot water for 5 of us.

A few basics missing in the kitchen, such as a colander, a large salad bowl and a sharp knife. Some hooks in the laundry would be great to hang wet gear. Otherwise, great.

Lovely location. Stunning position with the Grampians behind the cottage. Very quiet and peaceful.

There were no issues with the property.

The cottage was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Curtains in the bedroom were very effective at keeping out any light for sleeping. The bed was extremely comfortable and linen and towels of good quality. It was lovely to be able to sit out on the large verandah surrounded by trees and birdlife. Undercover parking right outside the back door was great. Having a key safe is ideal. We will choose a property offering one ahead of a meet and greet purely for the convenience.

Mostly it was great. The one thing we would have liked was heating in the bathroom. It was quite chilly the second morning and something would definitely be needed in winter.

Outside bin not empty The BBQ was dirty/not cleaned from its last use, we didn't use it. Cobwebs, we got rid of them. Toaster had exposed wires. We used it but turn it off & unplugged it each time to be safe. Needs a non slip mat in the bathtub/shower

Even though we didn't use the fire there was kindling and wood cut up. We liked that there was a lot of pillows and spare blankets for all the beds. Good range of crockery and cutlery.

Being in the bush. Would be quiet apart from construction on block behind. Once the owner was contacted she responded at once & the cabin was immediately cleaned & warmed.

Cleaner hadnt cleaned on our arrival.The bin not emptied Shower in bath requires a grab rail to be safe. Fire place needed needed ash removed. There was no paper, firelighters or kindling so would have been extremely difficult for the inexperienced to get going

Loved the location the house was so nice and cozy, very clean and the inside fire was a bonus that just made it that little bit more special. We will be back.

Convenient location, lots of room. The wood fire heated the whole place. Kangaroos in the front yard every day. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
