We had a relaxing couple of days here - enjoyed the games, Frisbee by the lake, fire pit etc. The owner has definitely made updates in most of the rooms but not all. If it's chilly, be prepared that one restroom is off the front porch (but has a heater in it). The upper deck above the house was a treat for the kids.

My family truly enjoyed our time the house is meant for family fun. Cute as a bug the house is really cozy and the host has been amazing

Weekend stay was perfect for breaking away from society with family and spend time grilling, games, and outdoors! Ben was great on recommending activites and making sure we had everything needed! Highly recommend!

They say was amazing the home owner went above and beyond for us. Location was great the house was great and if you miss the country stay there it was just that. We really enjoyed the stay and will do it again.

Definitely older and rustic but close to the lake and what we were looking for. Ben was a gracious and attentive host that made are stay that much more enjoyable.

The house simple, but very cozy and has everything you need for living. We loved nature there, especially birds songs. The big tree provides shade and comfortable temperature in and near the house.

We enjoyed the quiet relaxing atmosphere of the backyard. It is private and the outdoor area is a great place to hang out and let the pets run free. There is covered parking, two screened porches with a swing and rocker on the front porch. It was lovely listening to the song birds as we sat outside, beside a fire watching our dogs play in the leaves. The house is cozy and the bathroom is updated. The kitchen has all the utencils needed to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wish we could have stayed longer. Ben is a great host who is easily reached and responds quickly to text and phone messages. He was very helpful and accomodating, helping us to schedule our weekend getaway. When we return to the Lake Tawakoni area we will surely look to see if this property is available. It is affordable, we give it two thumbs up!! Thanks Ben!! God Bless!!

Had a great time, house was perfect! no its nothing fancy which was perfect as we spent most of our time on the lake or in the back yard. house had everything needed to make our stay e joyable without having to bring our whole kitchen of go to the store to buy stuff. to top it all off Ben was amazing! called the morning of with the instructions and a list of things to do on or near the lake! also had a great selection of DVDs to watch

Nothing pretentious in the property's description. If you don't find something here 'like' at your Grandma's house at Ben's property then I'm so so so sorry for you. Everything isn't for everybody so if this isn't your cup of tea I was taught by my mother and grandmother 'if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all, they'd say shut your mouth. But again the description says it, it is what it is!!??!. Communication with the property owner was wonderfully easy, timely and enjoyable. To sum up our stay I Googled it LOLHehe "" nos·tal·gia"" a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. "I was overcome with acute nostalgia for my days 'OF SITTING ON A SCREENED IN PORCH'!!!! Thanks for the experience. And oh by the way, the fishing anywhere at Tawakani is always great, even when we don't catch anything. See ya again soon.

The property is a fishing hut and is great for that! But my family is a more bogie then this place. The property needs a bit of fixing up, the ceiling is hanging down over the tv area. One bed was broken bathroom vanity was broken just needs bit of work and repairs. Owner was super nice and left water and snacks for us. So I can't say it's extremely bad but not our up of tea.

We were not even able to stay at property due to the MOLD, the grass was grown up, spider webs everywhere, we had to knock them down to even get inside the house. The KOI Pond was empty and full of dirt and leaves and NO fish like described. There was no Sodas or waters in the fridge like was mentioned. Dust was so thick on everything, This house was not stayable. Contacted the owner and he is not professional at all, he laughed about the situation. He ended up only refunding not even half of our payment, even though we had to leave and find a hotel room cause it was so bad, we werent even at the house for 20 minutes. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE!!!!

We absolutely loved it. It was a perfect fit for our group. We loved the yard and all the relaxation. The lake was gorgeous as well. I got some great sunset shots. All the movies that are there were like we had picked them out ourselves, seriously, we have a lot of the exact same ones at home. So they were family favorites and we really enjoyed being able to spend that quality time together. Everything was great....would definitely recommend and stay again ourselves.

Ben was very helpful and house warming. We will come back! We enjoyed our experience. Touch of love to the property would help future experiences but other then that is was great.

I'm going to be honest, when I first pulled up to the property I said what have I gotten myself into. The yard isn't the prettiest but the house is a cute and quaint little cottage that served its purpose. All we really wanted to do was relax for mothers day and fish. There were an enormous amount of movies for my 4 kids to watch and games for them to play. The bathrooms are well stocked with toiletries and bath towels. I did get some wash rags and leave a few for the next guests as there were none. The only major complaint I had is the internet didn't work. The host Ben communicates well the whole time I was there and offered a late check out if we wanted. All in all this place I think is great. The fishing pier that is a community pier is clean and well situated next to the swimming area so my husband and son could fish while the other kids swam and I relaxed under the trees with a book. Thanks mr Ben. I'm sure we will be back I really enjoyed our stay

We had a great time at this property. It was clean and rustic. Ben was great getting us fixed up ready for our two night stay. We had a fire pit, grill and TV with a good selection of movies. Ben made sure we had every thing we needed. He had bags of ice for us and we didn't even ask. He had several types of boats but we didn't rent one. We will next time for sure. This was a great place to stay for fishing and just decompressing.

Unfortunately, we were unable to stay at the property as there were some plumbing issues that weren't completed by the time we were there to check in. The host, Ben, was great, though, and I truly appreciate his efforts to make things right.

Had a great time at Ben's place. He went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He even brought us catfish bait and set up some rods and reels for us on the fishing pier! Will definitely come back the next chance we get!

When I told the owner all he said was he was sorry for the inconvenience. He offered us to stay a little longer,but who would want to do that in the condition it was in. We stayed in July 2019 & house was in good shape. We could also use the dock in the community. In fact, that was why I rented the place so we could be close to the water but, owner said they would not allow anyone who doesn't live there to use the dock. First disappointment was the floor, second was the dock & third was told fishing was good & that was not the fault of the owner but that was why we rented this place. It is miss represented on the website & I really wish I could get a partial refund or something. The place & infact the entire area needs a lot of work. Was embarrassed to have my family from Katy Tx meet me there. I felt so bad about having them pay half & have to stay in this house. Will never stay again. I took pictures of the floor & the outside with leaves covering the entire ground. The owner obviously didn't care about the place. Just a junky place can't believe I paid so much to stay here.

Can't say enough about how great the host was. He did everything possible to make our trip comfortable and fun for the kids.

This was a very nice quiet getaway. Property manager communicated a lot and worked with us. He was so sweet and accommodating. It's not a big places but it is perfect for getting back to what's important. We didn't even use a TV because we were enjoying every thing around us. This is definitely the perfect little getaway.

Me and my friends enjoyed our stay. It's not a 4 star hotel or resort but it was cozy and comfy. The host is a nice guy who will do what he can to accommodate his guests. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a lake cabin located in a quiet place. A nice change of pace from the big city. Rustic and not a Four Season’s resort. The very reason I like the place. My opinion is that roughing it is good for the soul and reconnecting with nature. Owner is friendly and there to answer questions as needed. I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed staying at this house. We felt right at home there. We are planning to stay again and next time it will be longer I'm sure. My grandkids and Nieces and Nephews loved the swimming and kayaking. We are grateful to Ben and his son for being there and watching over us. Also, helping us with fishing and all the other things there were to do there. We never got to do the s'mores :[ because we were so busy. Our family was very happy while we were there. We can't wait for the next family vacation. Thank you Ben and Ben Jr. we appreciate you. You seemed like part of our family :]
