My husband and I wanted a close quiet getaway and this was the perfect pick. Ronnie was there assisting in meeting our needs and showing us everything that was available for our use during our stay. Wonderful Man. We plan on another trip when the weather is cooler! Thank you Ronnie for such an enjoyable time!

Had a awesome stay at the Shaggy Shack. Saw an alligator and did some crabbing which is pretty cool to people from Missouri. Ronald was an outstanding host and made sure we were comfy and had what we needed. We will definitely come back!

Ronnie did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. However he is not God and could not control the wound and rain we had every day. Since I could not fish nor golf I had to settle for eating all the fabulous food available. Well someone had to do it.

We absolutely LOVED the Shaggy Shack. It was so much more than we expected. The house was clean, comfortable, peaceful. Ronnie the Host was exceptional and communicated with us on all of our needs/questions. The neighbor were awesome as well. I would highly recommend this home if you are looking for peace and quite. If you're the type of person who takes pictures of bathroom vent fans and imperfect caulking near the sink in the guest bath than this probably isn't the place for you. If you like to chill out on vacation while dangling a line in the water and tossing crab traps off the dock this could work for you. The inside is very neat and very clean. The exterior is, for all intents and purposes, a working waterfront. Kayaks, boat racks, crab traps, fishing poles and rod holders, a hammock. There are tables and chairs under cover below and a big deck up top. The joint is a lot of fun and very relaxing. Ronnie has a gentle demeanor. He is helpful with advice and assistance. It's a great place for fishing and kayaking and just kicking back by the water. I'm a big fan of the people in this part of the world. Peace, Ronnie. Thanks for having us.

Spent a few days for a short vacation. Was no where near long enough. The place was amazing, very nice and very comfortable, had everything we could want, had a great time fishing, crabbing, and watching the local wild life fell in love with the baby ducks. The owner is super nice and very informative and helpful. really enjoyed our couple visits with him wish we would of had more time to sit and chat with him. Really hope to get to go back again ! Thanks from the bottom of my heart for such a great time .

This was a perfect place to stay for our an anniversary. On the water made it tranquil and perfect to reflect our our year. Close enough to everything to tour New Orleans or the swamp.

The camp was very nice. Had a great trip. Can’t wait to come back. Ronnie was very helpful. Beds were very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time...My son and his family joined us Saturday and we ate crabs, played games, fished and crabbed and laughed the day away. Could not ask for a better vacation...We plan to come back in March because my 6 year old great-granddaughter wants to celebrate her birthday there.

Ronnie was so accommodating and helpful our entire stay! The property was just what we were hoping for and had wonderful views off the top deck! Would definitely recommend!

Fortunately The Shaggy Shack was open for a last minute booking this weekend. This place was definitely NOT SHAGGY! Our host was generous and accommodating to our group. We enjoyed the location of the property, the decor was fitting , the beds were comforting and we simply couldn’t imagine a better find! The pictures don’t do this place justice- it’s all that plus more! We will be back!

We loved our stay at the Shaggy Shack. Ron was an incredible host. We brought our boat, used on-site kayaks and canoe, crabbed from the dock and boiled our catch in the evening. Very quiet, relaxing atmosphere and perfect hangout under the house. Just quick jaunt to Lake P for fishing and boating fun!

The property was neat and clean and exactly as advertised. We had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was available and went above and beyond to make sure that we had what we needed. We had a lot of fun crabbing and caught lots! We also caught some catfish and a gar. There were canoes and bicycles though we spent our time crabbing. We can’t wait to return.

The Shaggy Shack is relaxing and had everything we needed. From board games to coloring books to extra cots, Ron has it all! He was very helpful and friendly. He showed us how to set the crab traps and what kind of bait to use. We had quite a few people hanging around during the day and Ron had no issue with it at all. He's very accommodating. There's also plenty to do with the kids. He has supplied bikes and kayaks and a canoe as well as plenty of fishing poles and life vests. Overall, we would definitely stay again!! Thanks Ron!

Loved staying here. Canoe was really fun going up and down the canals. Sitting on the sun deck was lovely just relaxing. Sitting underneath the house watching the ducks was also relaxing The house is close to Kenny’s Seafood and The Lost Cajun. Two great places to eat.

The Shaggy Shack had a little bit of everything we needed. Ron had allowed my and friends check in a little bit early because we had to be back on the road for some bowfishing that he had also referred us to. The place was comfortable for a party of 6. We did quite a bit of cooking and everything was available. Ron even brought over a large pot because we wanted boil some crawfish ourselves along with some blue crab that we caught fresh out back with the supplied crab cage and bait. Nice place to sleep and just hangout all day.

Would stay here again.

We had a great time. The camp is really nice and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Mr. Ronnie the owner is really nice and helped me out with a few things while there. The camp is right on the water just off lake Pontchartrain. It has a covered boat slip that I kept my boat in while there. We also caught lots of speckled trout 5 minutes from the camp. We will definitely be back!

Convenient, great value, fun for the whole family a weekend!

This was our second trip to Shaggy Shack for a short get-away - enjoyed the fishing and crabbing and just relaxing. All equipment available or bring your own. House fully stocked with linens and toiletries and lots of staples in kitchen. Will be planning for our next return!

This home on the river is absolutely wonderful. If you’re looking for a great house to spend quality time fishing, kayaking and enjoying the river together book this one. The owners are amazing and I would definitely stay here again. I can’t thank them enough.

Loved our stay at the Shaggy Shack. Ronnie and Cindy Provensal, the owners, were so welcoming and helpful. Mr Ronnie even provided a dozen fresh boiled crabs to start our week. I was able to dock my boat all week which allowed unfettered use without constant trailering. I was also able to catch quite q few keepers for my freezer. Will definitely use the Shaggy Shack again for other trips home from abroad....Thanks..

The house is away from the big city and very peaceful. Having Ronnie next door is very handy. The house and beds quite comfortable. Being on the water was nice even if we didn't catch any fish. Would stay there again. Janice 9/15-9/21

This was perfect for us. Ronnie was very accommodating and made sure we were happy and checking in was easy just like arriving at your home. First day we fished off the dock and caught several fish. Ronnie had everything for fishing that you need and we borrowed it to go out on the lake and ended up catching red fish and a flounder with the gear. Pro tip, get LIVE shrimp from the local bait shop. He also has kayaks and canoes on site. We ended up sticking a rotissero chicken in the crab traps and caught a ton of crabs right off the dock too. Beds were comfortable and inside cabin-esk feels made us feel like we were up north in MI. Loved it. The neighbors were awesome too. They brought us over to check their traps and taught us a bit about soft shell crabs and on the last day even cooked for us. The place is located a short drive from "old town" which is a cute walking town with a few different bars, such as an arcade bar, and wine restaurant. You can take an Uber anywhere for like $10 too. Our favorite stop was Palmetto's Jazz lunch on Sunday. Food was great, they had bottomless mimosas, and such a neat place. Our favorite bar was the Landing on the water which you could bike to from the house. They had a poker run and live band and a few dogs from the boats running around. Yes, a bar with dogs within biking distance of Ronnie's place. The beach is right down the road too and it was clean... Overall our adveture in Slidell at Ron's place was awesome. Highly recommend. If we return to the area we will stay here again.

my wife and myself came down the night they were calling for a tropical storm when we arrived the owner was right there. great location. we had a little issue with the water he fixed it right away even let me use his fishing pole to do a little fishing. we will be back
