We had an ecellent time! The weather, cabin, kayaking, and fishing were great! We enjoyed our family time together! The cabin was nice and clean. Would definitely recommend!

Waterfall hideaway was amazing. Tucked away in the mountains away from anything. My family and I came for a wedding at a near by venue. My grandchildren enjoyed playing in the backyard waterfall and on the fairy swing over the river. They also enjoyed the community access lake. The cabin was very clean, spacious, and beautiful. Enjoyed gathering around the firepit in the evenings to relaxing in the hot tub to the sound of the waterfall to star gazing from the wrap around porch.

House was very nice and very secluded. We got turned around as we were coming from the direction of Rosman versus Tuckasegee, but once we realized our error the directions were spot on. The waterfall on property was gorgeous and there is good fishing, hiking, mountain biking, shopping and more within a reasonable drive in Brevard. Would stay here again!

We had a fantastic time at Waterfall Hideaway - the house was exceptionally clean and well-equipped. The directions to the property and access code were clear and accurate, and we had a fantastic time relaxing by the waterfall, exploring the lake, and soaking in the hot tub. This is a perfect location for those that want to enjoy all the NC mountains have to offer while being close enough for a day trip into Asheville.

We were impressed with our entire stay! Everything was beautifully clean, organized and thought about. The pictures dont do the place/property any justice. It was a nice getaway from everyday life. Prepare yourself for a 30 minute drive from the furthest store and that is a cash only small gas station. My ONLY "complaint" if any was the water tasted/ smelt weird, but considering youre in the middle of nowhere at the top of a mountain? Its not worth marking it down a star for. We would love to go back!

Beautiful and tranquil! It was tucked down at the end of a private drive giving us privacy. We loved how spacious it was for our family. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit down by the stream and the selection of board games. It was a joy waking up to the sounds of the stream and birds.
Perfect place getaway and enjoy some family time, while stilling enjoying amenities like wifi and cable.
It was great!

Wow, is all we can say. Yes it's remote, very remote, to the point it's even hard to find especially without working GPS, but that is what we were looking for. It was the exact kind of unplugged vacation we needed. The cabin is beautiful and spacious. The natural woody views with warm animal vibes and the waterfall put a smile on our kids faces. We had the luxury of enjoying the pond all to ourselves and the water was chilled to a perfect 70 degrees with no other souls around. We didn't want to end the vacation and return to reality, but alas, we had to return back to the big city grind. We may have found our hidden little annual retreat. We were able to visit the Great Smokey Mountains and see wild Elk in under two hours and enjoy some Indian Tacos out at the Cherokee reservation which was a blast and experience for our family.

We had a wonderful stay. The property was as described if not better. It was easy to access in our minivan. It was clean and stocked for our needs. There was a nice grill with propane as well as firewood. The cabin has a wonderful layout with beautiful view of the creek below. The waterfall and fire pit were absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed the sound of the water even as we slept.
We loved the seclusion with access to so many waterfalls (including one in the back yard) and kayaking/swimming in the lake. The wifi worked well, yet we enjoyed being unplugged.
A few things that might be helpful (although I hesitate to mention because we truly have no complaints and loved every moment).
1. It might be helpful to bring your own beach towels and a foot towel. All the linens are hotel white. We used our own beach towels for outdoor activities.
2. It really is secluded. We felt this was a wonderful asset, but it’s good to know that you need to stop for all supplies & gas ahead of your arrival. Also, don’t turn of your maps once you are within an hour of the cabin. We had no trouble finding it in the dark per the directions.
3. If you want to see local waterfalls with nearly no one around, pick up a copy of Kevin Adams’ book, Waterfalls of NC. I wish the cabin had more books/info on local trails, waterfall books, and swimming holes. Google doesn’t know everything.
4. I wish the basement had a bunk room so we could bring more family next time!
It’s a magical place!!

It wasn’t that clean when we got there. The air conditioner didn’t work. We experienced a hostile situation with a poacher on property.

My wife and I enjoyed the drive up to the cabin. We especially loved the Christmas tree farms that were nearby. The cabin itself was super spacious with huge closets and plenty of other storage. The kitchen has a huge granite top. It was pretty cold during our stay so we used the wood burning stove a lot! We loved looking out the large picturesque windows. After getting out of the hot tub we cozied up in front of the outdoor gas fire place. You can hear the waterfall and the breeze blowing through the trees. With blankets wrapped around us, we looked at each other, smiled and were finally able to truly relax. It’s been so hectic at home so this was exactly what we needed. We entered the address into Waze and it took us straight to it. The key is to not exit the app until you arrive. We plan on taking our kids with us next time! Our time there is now forever etched into our memories!

- Nice cabin in perfect location.
- Countertops were a bit dirty and popcorn found on bathroom and hallway floor.
- Oven still had cleaner in it. Noticed horrible smell and ruined food when first used.
- Could not get outside fire place to work. Possible user error, but would be good to include direction in future.
- Hot tube was great and easy to use.
- Creek/waterfall out back was awesome and very relaxing.
- Area/neighborhood great for exploring. Saw a bunch of deer.
- Will rent again as its a good price for the space and location.
- Could not figure out Dish Network TV, possible user error again, but directions in future may help.
- Used cigarette and lighter found on back porch railing.
- Water in master bath shower had odor to it. Smelled like lake water.
- Beds very comfy.
- Kitchen sink towels may need to be replaced, smelled very moldy when wet.
- Upstairs smoke alarm kept beeping. Tried reseting and even "tested", stop for a bit, but eventually kept beeping again.
- All issues mentioned above are minor in my book. Just wanted you to know so improvements can be made where needed.
Thanks for the stay,
Michael

We truly enjoyed our quick stay at this property. The location was beautiful and very peaceful. We loved the sound of the waterfall right outside and waking up and enjoying our coffee on the porch. We roasted marshmallows outside and took the kayak out on the lake. Our kids loved it! There was only one issue during our stay and that was the strong sulfur smell of the water. It wasn’t a big enough deal to us to report it to the property management since we were only there a short time and we had brought water with us. But the one time we did call to ask a question, they were very helpful! As others have mentioned, the property is far from stores etc so we made sure to shop for all of our groceries ahead of time so we wouldn’t have to make any trips out until it was time to go. We would definitely stay again and would love to stay longer next time!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is pretty remote, but that's what we were looking for. We loved everything about this property and the surrounding area.
Everything was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. Our kids loved the jacuzzi, too.
We also enjoyed kayaking in the community lake, and it was nice that a kayak was provided for us to use.
I was a little concerned since the property manager said GPS is unreliable in the area. Although I printed the turn-by-turn directions that I was provided, I only used them as a backup. I relied primarily on GPS (Google). I set the destination well before there was no cell signal and had almost no issues arriving at the property. I say "almost" because I noticed that GPS took us to the incorrect property, but we only had to drive up about 1000 feet to find the right one.

First and foremost, print or screen print your own directions once the management office provides the full address. They provide turn-by-turn directions (based off of where you are coming from) from about a third of the way up the mountain. Ignore them as they will most likely be incorrect. It’s just safer to have your own directions because there is absolutely NO cell service on the mountain. I highly suggest preemptively looking up your own directions well before your arrival into town. Unless you are from there, your first time driving this particular mountain is nerv-racking! There are various ways up/down the mountain so plan your outings accordingly.
If you will truly be in full vacation mode —hunkering down and going nowhere; wanting to be totally unplugged from the world, then your golden. Just make sure to bring a cooler and stop at the two predominant grocers, Walmart or Ingles, around neighboring towns before you get to Tuskegee. There won’t be another opportunity 30 miles out from the mountain, not including the 50 minute drive up.
The cabin is beautiful but much smaller than anticipated. It has a wonderful creek out back that the kids are safe to play in. Mine even slid down the small falls. Build a fire for them while they play as they’ll be cold from the 60 degree (summer) water. If you are older, the walk down is quite steep. Wear non-slip shoes. Bring hot dogs and s’mores and make a day of it!
If you are adventurous like us, and want to leave the cabin, then prepare yourself in the following ways…
Make sure you plan and book your daily adventures (grocery shopping included) prior to leaving your own home. With almost an hour’s drive up or down the mountain, that’s 2 hours out of your day in driving alone, without cell service. In neighboring towns most cell service is spotty. Print directions from all the places you plan to visit ahead of time. Gas stations are scarce. There was one gas station consistently open on one of the roads up but if you don’t go that way… There are 3 (possibly more) ways up and down the mountain and some ways are significantly shorter. It pays to be prepared; better safe than sorry, etc., etc.
Poor wifi puts a damper on things but if you’re prepared, it’s easy sailing. They provided a landline phone to help ease the lack of cell service. It took a couple of tries to get it to work and It only works on a clear day near the kitchen window.
Hope this helps!

Fantastic Family Getaway
What more could you ask for? A secluded cabin on a property that features a waterfall, fire pit, hot tub, and a kayak you can launch from the community boat dock. The WiFi provides enough bandwidth to provide a way to text, call, and email people, but the kiddos will not be playing games or streaming movies. Instead they will get to play board games, make s'mores, flip a kayak, learn very quickly how to swim, go fishing, and hear hours of dad jokes.

Best Cabin Ever!
We stayed at this cabin for New Years and had the best time ever! The house is super private and away from it all, which is just what we needed to reconnect. The management company was on top of it with sending all of the information we needed and they even sent us a warning about the possible snow advisory on our last night. The home was spotless when we arrived. There were games, kayaks, firewood, and plenty to do with our friends. We would recommend this cabin to anyone and everyone!

Perfect little remote getaway!
A lot of listings talk about cell service being spotty but take this one seriously! That was fine with us as the break from them was welcomed. The house was clean and adequately equipped and we enjoyed our stay.
I can't say enough about Sun Dog Vacation rentals though! The staff was great, even after hours!

We felt fortunate to be able to stay in such a great home.
Remote location in upscale home with all the amenities. Could not get the heat to work but we stayed late in the season so fireplace and fireplace were happily substituted.

Undersold!
The house was everything and more than the pictures depict! I loved how far up the mountain it was and perfectly tucked away by itself. We spent the whole five day trip outside—the waterfall was beautiful. The rental management was very helpful and responsive. Overall, a truly remarkable experience. Thank you so much for sharing your mountain home!

Great getaway!
Lovely spot to get away from road noise and cell service. Loved the rushing of the creek at all hours of the day. It Was the perfect space for what we needed and had all the amenities we desired. The drive to and from civilization was pretty far though we knew that when going in. Would love to go back soon.
