The 1st few days were great over the Easter holiday. Then, the construction started right behind us. Constant hammering, sawing, pounding & other noise ALL DAY. All the wildlife left. You couldn't enjoy the pool or deck for the constant noise. We paid $$$ for a quiet vacation to celebrate 2-70th birthdays & 43rd anniversary. The house description made no mention of construction as we would have stayed elsewhere. Very, very disappointing. We made the best of a bad situation. I would never

We were six adults staying at Villa Toucan for 8 nights, The house is very well located just on the edge of the town of Quepos. It is one of the lower elevation houses, which makes walking to town easy compared to other houses on the property that are higher up the steep hill. The house is surrounded by forest which is full of animal activity. We were able to observe, very closely, three species of monkeys on numerous occasions. Tons of birds, including Macaws and Toucans and several hawks, plus hummingbirds. The trees and the pool provided a nice respite from the daytime heat. The house is far enough away from other units to ensure a quiet setting. The house is well appointed although some thin cushions on the wooden deck chairs would add to the comfort while spending hours on the upper deck watching life go by. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms have air conditioning. There are three full bathrooms. The internet service was good and reliable. A car is very useful to be able to explore a bit farther away, and for groceries, and there are many good restaurants in Quepos itself and also on the road leading to Manuel Antonio National Park. The service at the property was excellent and super fast when we made inquiries. Communication was easy and quick. There are many excellent beaches nearby and wildlife tours are very easy to organize and are excellent. This property is very highly recommended.

The property is lovely, as described, and perfectly suited for our purpose. However, it was Andrés and his attention to our every request that made the stay exceptional. From his pre-arrival communications (directions, grocery store, restaurant suggestions) to prompt attention to our queries, and his assistance in requesting taxi service. He not only satisfied our needs, he anticipated them. Many thanks, Andrés for making our Quepos stay truly memorable.

We loved this house and Manuel Antonio Estates is amazing. The first day we visited El Salto and had the whole waterfall to ourselves - enjoyed swimming in it and this was our favorite day of the trip. The next day we went to Playa Biesanz (monkeys and sloths here too) and hiked a bit of the Reto Mae trail - this was amazing and afterwards got some chairs on the beach. Then, of course we went to Manuel Antonio park and that was awesome - got our animal fix for the trip and saw some sloths up close in the telescope. The house was amazing - we got to see more monkeys at the house than at Manuel Antonio - my goal was to see monkeys so that was accomplished here. :-) My only suggestion is to drink bottled water when you go out to eat. I think the water at one of the sodas we ate at was off. The water at the house was fine b/c my youngest didn't get sick at all, but we remember she didn't drink water at the soda restaurant we went to so she was spared. This house and the area is amazing - don't hesitate to book it.

We loved everything about our stay! For starters the communication was top notch from pre-trip emails with tips and guides to texts in the days leading up to our arrival to ensure all went smoothly. Once we arrived we still received daily check in texts making sure we didn't need anything. The property itself was spacious and spotlessly clean. Our family of 5 had plenty of room to spread out. We loved sitting on the upper balcony in the morning having coffee and listening to nature. In the evenings we got to see and hear lol some howler monkeys and playful squirrel monkeys. Location was easy to get to and a quick drive to the beaches in Manuel Antonio. Highly recommend and we would definitely come back again!!

This is a well-run, friendly, beautiful place to stay. The staff were very helpful. The house was immaculate and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped. The location is excellent - close to town, beaches, Manuel Antonio National Park, and plenty of other places to explore. I highly recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit Costa Rica.

Booking was easy and smooth. Check in and check out were quick and easy. Property pretty much just as described. Four of us stayed at the house. Saw a number of birds and some monkeys. No complaints. Close to the Marina and short drive to the beach. Would stay here again without any hesitation.

Everything about the Toucan Family Villa in Manuel Antonio Estates is totally awesome!! Spacious and lovely, everything you need for your home away from home! Close to Quepos, for shopping and restaurants and a short drive to Manuel Antonio National Park! The best part though, are the monkees that come sit on your deck railing to say hello in the morning and late afternoon! Andres in the office is EXCEPTIONAL!! He will give you many recommendations for restaurants, activities and things to see...always with a smile! No question is too many. Thank you Andres!! We will definitely stay here next time we are in Costa Rica!!

Had a wonderful experience at Toucan Villa. The location is great with respect to walking distance to town, and an easy cab ride to other local restaurants and activities. Everyone was very helpful with answering our questions and giving us advice on local attractions. Enjoyed a morning at the spa as well! The monkeys paid us a visit several times, and we had two iguanas who hung out around our pool. We would definitely recommend the place to others.

The property was gorgeous. We loved sitting on the balcony surrounded by the rain forest and occasionally seeing troops of monkeys playing in the trees. The house was clean and Manuel Antonio Estates were extremely generous with their help and advice. We hope to return.

Wonderful Retreat!
Andres and Doris communicated right from the start. It was simple and easy! They answered any questions I had. The guard at the entrance made us feel very safe. The location was perfect- located just at the entrance to Manuel Antonio and the town of Quepos.

Perfect villa
We absolutely loved the Toucan Villa. The location was very convenient to lots of things to do, while still being a peaceful and relaxing place to spend our time. The pool was just right and we thoroughly enjoyed mornings and evenings on the porch, watching the monkeys and listening to the sounds of the forest. And the Estates management was easy to communicate with and always kind and friendly. We'd definitely recommend this home!

Excellent - incredible
The location, property, concierge service, everything was just incredible. I’ve been to Costa Rica a few times now and this is by far the very best location we’ve stayed at. I wish we had stayed longer - our family had a 2 year old in it and she had a blast too. Everything was amazing and above and beyond. We are absolutely going to be back with broader family. Cannot recommend this place enough.
We forgot to leave comments in the guest book and fully intended to - our apologies we will be back and will do it next time!

Fantastic Stay in Costa Rica
The Villa Tucan in The Manuel Antonio Estates was beyond our wildest imagination. The house was so comfortable with so much space to stretch out and relax. All the rooms were beautifully decorated and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook in. The outdoor space is magical. Watching monkeys crossing the property leaping from branch to branch was so much fun. The pool was a wonderful cool off after touring all day in the heat and humidity. The town of Quepos is a short walk with many restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. Sarah, our concierge, was lovely and so helpful. Having a spa on site was an added bonus. We hope to return someday and enjoy the beautiful, friendly people of Costa RICO!! Pure Vida!!

Well situated, comfortable and secured villa.
We enjoyed our stay at the Tucan villa. Well situated in a peaceful location to rest after a day at the beach in Manuel Antonio or Dominical. Employees were nice. Fun to go swim at the waterfall on the property and easy to walk to Quepos city. The warf is worth a visit.

Family of Five
We didn't feel we deserved such a luxurious place. More space than 5 people needed, visits from a giant land lizard, once we saw white faced monkeys in the trees above. The team was always at our service. The street it's on is the only street you need - for it takes you to all the restaurants, shopping and beaches you'll need to visit.

Dorit and Angie were great. They helped us with taxis and recommended great places to eat. They were very helpful. We saw lots of monkeys while in the pool. The cool water in the pool felt great after a day in the park and really good after spending a day at the beach. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was very needed. The fans in the rest of the rooms helped cool it down in the evening. This place has lots of greenery around it, so we were not not surprised to see some small lizards crawl through the windows. They stayed near the windows. We never had any in the sleeping areas or bathrooms. They were fun to watch while watching a movie on the television in the evening.
Quick WiFi in the rooms. We did use the kitchen but just to cook our breakfast.
This was a very enjoyable stay.

From arrival to when we left, the home was a tremendous getaway for our group! Even though we arrived later at night than anticipated, arrangements were easily made to accommodate entry (in the secured Manuel Antonio Estates). Everything in the house worked very well and was peacefully nestled on a hill...just as advertised. All three bedrooms were equipped with air conditioning to ensure a cool night's sleep after enjoying the warm Costa Rican weather. While not expected to do as much as they did, the housekeeping staff was phenomenal (our two teenagers weren't the tidiest). Clean linens were swapped out, and we were always asked if anything was needed. The caretakers of the grounds kept the walkways swept, the pool clean, and were extremely friendly. The property manager, Angie, provided us with her personal contact information and let us know she was available anytime to address any concerns with the home or just information about the local area, attractions, restaurants, etc. In addition to Angie, the staff at the main office, Dorit and Richard, were so professional, welcoming, and ensured we enjoyed our stay! Roscoe, the office cat, was even there to welcome us!
We had read reviews about the house prior to booking, so we were aware of the staircase being outside not an issue for us). So nice to sit out on the balcony and watch the wildlife (scarlet macaws, lizards, monkeys, birds) or just cool off in the pool. For the record, the smaller side of the pool is not a hot tub/jacuzzi. It wasn't advertised as such, but not needed.
The neighbors staying in the surrounding houses were always friendly, so it just made the experience that much more fun.
I can't say enough good things about the fun and willing staff (security guards too). Definitely a fair price for a vacation home. The stay was better than expected!
Loved our trip, the house, and people! ¡Pura Vida!

Lush Setting Close to Town
Our first day, we watched a troop of monkeys play in the trees while we lounged in the pool! Everyday we saw new wildlife including the Blue Morpho butterfly. The house is very large and struck just the right note between luxurious and casual. The house is on a slope so the view is of the dense tree canopy, and the shade makes it very cool and comfortable! The location was perfect as we went to scuba with Oceans Unlimited at the Quepos marina, enjoyed a fantastic selection of restaurants, could walk to buy groceries, and made the easy drive to Manuel Antonio.
Everything is very well maintained and the daily housekeeping was very thoughtful. Our teenage nephew enjoyed having the downstairs to himself while my husband and I enjoyed the generous master suite with a fantastic shower, and we all used the refreshing pool every day and watched the wildlife together from the balcony. We also enjoyed making the hike to the private waterfall and swimming hole - what a unique treat!

House is OK, Staff is helpful.
The description of the property is mostly accurate with one exception....It states there are 2 King beds, a single bed, and a double bed. There is no single bed. I called to verify this prior to our stay (because I didn't see a single bed in any pictures) and I was told the "single bed" is the "sitting area" at the foot of the bed that you can see in the picture. They said it would not accommodate my 12-year-old, but they told me they could put a "real single bed" in the upstairs master bedroom at no extra charge so we went ahead and rented the house with that expectation. Unfortunately, they did not provide a "real single bed". It was a small wooden platform, about the size of a toddler bed, with a very thin and very soft cushion. There was no way my 12-year-old could sleep on it. It was too small and extremely uncomfortable. I'm not even sure a toddler would have been OK on it because it was like sleeping directly on the wooden platform. So, if you need to have a bed for a toddler or child you cannot assume you will get a real bed, even if you are told they will put one in. The other thing to know is this is a tropical area and there are BUGS! The bugs can easily crawl in under the doors where the balcony is. We had beetles everywhere! This is unavoidable, but the one thing that would have been nice is if the maid service that came in daily would have swept up the beetles every time they came in. They did not. By the end of our 4-day stay, there were A LOT of dead beetles lying around. They were all over the floor and some were dead under the couch cushions. Another issue is the oven did not work. It is a gas oven and the lighter appeared to be broken. The stove worked, but not the oven. We told the manager it didn't work so they were going to call someone to look at it after we left. Additionally, the pictures appear to show a hot tub next to the swimming pool, but the pool man who came to clean the pool told us it actually is NOT a hot tub so don't be fooled by the pictures. Also, be aware there is no dishwasher, so if you eat in, you have to hand wash all dishes. The description doesn't claim to have a dishwasher so it's our fault we didn't notice that. The house is in a nice gated area, the grounds are nice, and the setting is nice. The floor plan works well for 2 families, and the upstairs kitchen/living room accommodated 7 people very well. The property manager and staff were helpful when we had questions.

Unbeatable location
The location of the house is unbeatable. From the garden and balcony we were treated to fantastic sightings of monkeys, toucans, lizards, and we could hear macaws right nearby. At the same time, we were close enough to town to easily have access to groceries and such. The manager and the concierge, Magay, were very helpful, calling each evening to see how our day was and whether we needed anything for the next day. The pool was a great place to cool down after a rain forest hike. The house itself was comfortable, although one of the downstairs bedrooms is not air conditioned, and the lack of indoor stairs (which we knew about ahead of time) was inconvenient, especially as we were traveling with children and they were sleeping downstairs. Also, if you book the house, bring some large zip lock bags to secure your food against the ants that show up instantly at the single dropped crumb.

Great villa
We enjoyed our 3 night stay very much. Lots of space. Well equipped kitchen. Great location. Safe/secure gated neighborhood. Very friendly staff. Only negative that I would point out is that the two floors are somewhat independent, meaning that there is no internal connection, and therefore require you to go outside to go from one floor to the next. With 2 bedrooms down and one bedroom up, our family of 5 had three of us downstairs and two upstairs. This arrangement is ok, but could be improved if the doors facing pool on each side could be opened by key or touch code from outside, but the latch mechanisms didn't allow that. Still give the place 5 stars anyway!

Awesome jungle house
We lucky to find this beautiful home last minute... the staff accommodated us immediately the same day and were very nice and efficient! The house is situated in the lush jungle with a gorgeous view overlooking the pool and surrounding nature. Our stay was beautiful and peaceful, the house was spacious and clean, and we were happy to have a big bath tub. We would stay here again.

Absolutely perfect and gorgeous and amazing.
The property was clean, beautiful and lovely. The house had all the amenities one would want in a home away from home. The regular cleaning lady helped maintain clean towels and kitchen and whatnot.
Make sure you go on the hike to the waterfall! So beautiful!
Make sure you are home in the afternoon once or twice to catch all the monkeys in the trees!
Dorit and Jessica attended to our every need and provided us with GREAT suggestions for activities and places to buy what we needed.
I would come back for sure and tell a friend to stay for sure!

Pura Vida in Manuel Antonio
We had a lovely stay in Toucan Villa. The house is about a 10-minute drive to Manuel Antonio Park with great restaurants and beaches along the way. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of room for our family of four. The main living area is upstairs and that is where we spent most of our time. The only drawback is we had to go outside to go to the lower level of the house. Loved spending time on the porch early in the morning to listen to the birds chirping and enjoying great Costa Rican coffee. We can't say enough about Dorit and Jessica. Thank you for all of your great tips and hospitality. We hope to back soon!

Absolutely PERFECT vacation!!!
How do you define PERFECT VACATION? For us it was a month at the Tucan Villa in Quepos. Everything was BETTER than we anticipated...the house, the pool, the surroundings. We slept well, played hard, and relaxed on the upper patio every day. There were 4-6 people living in the villa during the month. We never felt crowded...there was always another space in which to spread out. All the appliances were top notch...the villa was clean and well kept.
Walking to Quepos or taking the bus to the beach in Manuel Antonio was easy. We ate in cute little restaurants in Quepos or fancier ones in Manuel Antonio...all the food was incredible. And the tours/tour guides were outstanding...so knowledgable...we particularly liked the night jungle tours with Brian and the birding tours with Johan all arranged by our wonderful managers Dorit (MANY THANKS!) and Rolando (THANKS SO MUCH). The women who cleaned the villa and the gentleman who cleaned the pool area every day were so friendly and did a great job. We really can't say enough about the Costa Rican people who are ALWAYS helpful and friendly. Coming home was a real let down!! PURA VIDA!!!
