My husband, two dogs and I enjoyed another great stay at Ocean Panorama. The house meets our needs perfectly. We love the views, the pool and proximity to the beach. Dan Hess is an excellent host. This was our 5th year staying here. We love it!

We recently stayed and we loved our vacation. While the house is a little older and the decor could use an update, it didn't take away from how much we enjoyed our vacation. The house is perfectly located between a condo complex and an reserve which means that you basically get the beach to yourself. The complex is far enough away that no one seems to come down far enough to make the beach crowded. In the week we were there, we were often one of 4 or 5 groups on the beach. The pool was great to have for the kids and gave us a break from the beach when the kids wanted a change of scenery. The owner, Dave, was awesome. We had a couple hiccups during our stay that were out of his control, but he did he best to help us fix the issues and enjoy our trip. In the end, we loved our time in Indian Beach and would come back again.

We stay on this island all the time each summer- usually at Atlantic beach but sometimes Emerald Isle or Indian beach. This year was our first needing a dog friendly place and we loved it here! The balcony/porch was by far my favorite place to be as I could sit and soak in the views and sounds of the ocean without getting sandy if I wanted to have a break from the beach itself- always had some shade and always with a breeze. my husband would say the pool was his favorite- and the main reason we chose this house over others- he really wanted the luxury of a private pool. He especially loved the long float to just lay on and chill. The house has lots light and space which I loved. It’s a much quicker walk to the beach than the picture suggests. Very quiet beachfront -near a big condominium building where there were always a ton of people when the weather was good but there was a huge gap between them and us. With a teen, having a smart TV was imperative so we could watch Netflix or prime video at night or when the weather wasn’t great. There are a lot of stairs- so be wary if limited mobility- but I found it a good way to get more exercise on the quieter days. We have a family member with crutches and he did fine- got in some strength training with them and there’s a railing all the way. Never used the hot tub (it’s summer in NC, so no need to be hotter). Easy communication with Dan. Would absolutely stay here again and 100% recommend!

We had an amazing stay! The pool and hot tub were highlights. Ocean views from the decks were spectacular! We walked to the dollar general just about every day since it was right across the street. We did t want to leave!

We had a wonderful vacation. The views were spectacular. We enjoyed having coffee on the front porch and looking for dolphins. The house was comfortable and quiet-perfect for relaxing.
We enjoyed walks on the beach and fishing.
We also enjoyed the hot tub and pool. We are looking forward to our next visit!

We had an excellent week at Ocean Panorama! The location is fabulous. You have privacy but are close to restaurants. The views from the house are amazing! The setup of the house was perfect for our family of 4. The master bath is very spacious and has plenty of storage for toilitries. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The kitchen was very well stocked. The house was very clean when we arrived. Communication with the owner was very quick. We will definitely be back next year!

Overall clean but dated. We did not enjoy having wicker furniture in the living room. It was very difficult to sit on when you have a bad back. The toilet in the Master bathroom ran all night. Having to go outside for laundry was a surprise.

The home was comfortable. We had everything we needed for the stay. The views were amazing!! The location was perfect for us. It was outside of town by about 15 minutes. We practically had the beach to ourselves, very quiet and peaceful. We had one small hiccup upon arrival that really isn't worth mentioning. The only reason I do is to say that Dan responded within 10 minutes. He happened to be in town at the time and came to take care of it himself. Super nice guy, came, took care of business and left. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall we enjoyed our visit. The location is beautiful and views can’t be beat. However, there were a lot of maintenance and general upkeep issues with the property. One shower leaked through the ceiling, one didn’t drain. Wasps coming in through the attic. Lots of old and low quality furnishings. I would spruce this place up quite a bit before listing it again.

Even though we were closely surrounded by civilization, we felt isolated in our own private paradise. It was quiet, except for the symphony of birds heard from the deck each morning. The beach was completely abandoned at certain times of the day, perfect for long walks and book reading. The kitchen and dining area easily accomodated our group of 4-7 adults when we decided to eat in or play cards. Watching TV during the day was a little difficult due to the glare from the sun. I would suggest investing in some nice indoor wooden blinds that could be closed for tv and opened for the awesome views. My 91 year old Mom rarely left the house, so depended on the tv more than most, but also absolutely loved the views. Also, the closed-in balconies were great for her terrier to come and go as he pleased without fear of him running off. The hot tub gave us all something to relax and enjoy after a fun day on or off the beach! I would highly recommend OP for an at-home feel with a quiet beach and a fantastic view!

Our stay was everything we hoped it would be. My husband and two dogs enjoyed sunny days on the beach and house decks. The house is well maintained and the host is friendly. The pool is a bonus that we used daily. Thanks, Dan, for another great vacation at the ocean.

We had a terrific time in Salter Path. The home is on an offshoot of the public beach access path, which leads right to the home and the pool, which was very well maintained, clean and awesome.
The home itself is reasonably clean, but outdated, so those looking for something with modern appointments and fixtures would be disappointed. We cooked every day, and found the kitchen to be decently well-stocked for what we made.
Our only real complaint is the beds; Dan, you need new beds. These are thin, noisy, and uncomfortable. All of the people in our party complained about them, so sadly, it's not limited to one room.
Views from the porch were spectacular, and we had a terrific weather-week to enjoy it. Definitely try to spend some time out there reading.
Oh, and proximity to all of the Shrimp Burger joints is a plus.

The view was spectacular and it was nice to have a "private beach" section. The pool and hot tub were definitely a plus! Everything was up to standards with the exception other than the master bed, the two others were very uncomfortable, especially the bunk beds. We would definitely stay at this location again! The house was fantastic and the pool was amazing! We had a total of 6 of us, including 2 grandparents and 2 children and everyone had more than enough room. The pool even has a little shallow sitting area where my 3 year old could play with an adult nearby if she didn't want to go in the big pool area. The hot tub was a nice addition too! We had an issue with a toilet upon arrival and Dan was super responsive and came over to address the issue quickly. He was very attentive to our needs and very friendly! The house has a short walk to the beach and the beach was never crowded. The views from the top balcony were also really great and our little dog loved sitting out there each day with us! I highly recommend this house for a relaxing family vacation that everyone can enjoy! Thanks, Dan!!

The location has one of the best oceans views on the island. the house was very clean. The pool was one of the best features of the house.
The only recommendation I would make is that the kitchen and bathrooms do need an upgrade.

Beautiful views and easy access to the beach. The pool and hot tub are great. House is a bit dated and the beds, besides the master, are not the most comfortable. Location and great communication with the owner make up for the few deficiencies.

Spectacular Ocean Views. Parking is a challenge if more than three vehicles 🚗 are needed. Two vehicles are optimum. As with many coastal properties, be prepared to transition up and down many steps to the family room which is on the top level. The owners are wonderful folks that live nearby.

What a view, i've been visiting this Island for 55+ years and this was the best view of them all, a front row seat to the beach, ...while the house may not be a " luxury" accommodation, the location certainly is, it was clean and everything was in working order, the Hot Tub was nice to have in the cool evenings, and the pool although not heated was enjoyable during the day...the deck was fantastic w/ shade if necessary, so overall I hope we can return next year at this same time...it was a sunny 72-78 degrees w/ some breeze which is perfect in my opinion! This was a great value vacation !

The property is nice love all the vegitation.ans wild life. Birds are like a choir in the morning. Funiture not so comfortable ..cushions do not stay in place. But are ok.Beds very comfortable.loved the sealed bedding and towels. And check in easy.All in all was a great stsy. Thanks so much.

It’s conveniently located near grocery stores and restaurants. The view from the upper deck is wonderful. The pool and the foosball table were both hits with the family. Everything was clean and neat.
Honestly, we didn’t sleep well. The beds are terribly uncomfortable and creak with every move.

Our family stayed here for a week. Overall, the house had some nice amenities - there is a pool, hot tub, full kitchen, grill, and washer/dryer on site. The house is technically oceanfront but there is a somewhat annoying walk to actually get onto the beach - down a narrow path and then a very steep stairwell (so not handicap accessible and not for those with a fear of heights or a chair any wider than a Tommy Bahama).
All of that was all well and good but this homeowner dropped in on us multiple times throughout the week to the point that we did not feel like our privacy was being respected. Also, the house left a lot to be desired in terms of comfort - it was fairly dirty when we arrived, the windows lacked blinds/drapes which was incredibly bright at sunrise, and the furniture in the living room was uncomfortable wicker patio furniture.
Not the worst value for the price but I’d look to a different property for our preferences in the future.

We stayed at Ocean Panorama for two months in the winter. The views from the rental are phenomenal! You have a sound view and a beach view. Access to the ocean is amazing, the beaches were beautiful and vacant. The rental is very private and very quiet. The hot tub was perfect after a long days beach walk. The owner was thoughtful and responsive with any questions. We were sad to leave and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Dan was an amazing host. Always available to help. The house was huge, and perfect for us. The extra room with the little table and chairs was very quaint and a lovely bonus.
Hot tub made the trip! We used it daily.
This was one of our best trips ever.
The only thing missing was the firestick for TV, but we always bring our own for family movies.
All beds were comfortable. Check-in was super easy.
Kitchen was well-equiped.

The view and the porches - AWESOME. The floor plan very good. The bed in the master bedroom was vety good. Beds in the smaller rooms were uncomfortable for older adulst. We enjoyed our stay but had one problem and some suggestions.
Problem:
The head of the kitchen faucet (the kind that the faucet pulls out and becomes the sprayer) was gross. We noticed it when filling a glass - there were black specks. We scrubbed it clean, but what was left were what we assume were hard water deposits. I scraped that off with a wooden skewer that we found in the drawer and we then felt comfortable with using the water. Suggest checking the faucet occasionally.
Suggestions
Replace the curtain rod in the small room facing the ocean. There are no stops on the rod to hold in in place. My friend pulled the curtains open one morning and the rod fell.
One of the amenities was beach gear. The chairs need to be replaced or just don't provide chairs. One is not usable.
Maintenance needs to check the porch light at the door. It was not working when we left.
Would be good to have more than 2 kitched towels for a week stay. I know we could have called for more but we did not. Seems more efficient to just provide more.
There are 2 lights over the dining room table. One comes one when using the switch, the other you have to screw in the light bulb.
We enjoyed the porch and the view so much we might come again.

This was our third year staying at Ocean Panorama. The interior had just been repainted. Everything was great for our stay, from the condition of the house and pool to the perfect weather. The property manager checked in to make sure all was well. We love this house and plan on returning next year.

Overall this was a great trip. House was nice and clean. Minus all the steps, it was very close to the beach and the views were spectacular. A couple things that would've made our stay better would be a heated pool. We came down the first week of May and the temperatures were still pretty mild and the pool was cold every day. Also, it would've been nice to have something other than wicker patio furniture to sit/lay on in the living room after a long day; the wicker furniture was not very comfortable. Overall the house was stocked well. We enjoyed our week and loved the views from the balconies.

The views were gorgeous and the location to the beach was perfect, private yet very accessible. The pool was a huge part of our rental decision, and it did not disappoint. The inside of house could use some help but overall we had a relaxing vacation.
