Comfy Home in the Adirondacks, close to Gore Mnt, hiking & snowmoble trails

Notre maison est située sur un chemin privé à quelques minutes du centre-ville avec un accès privé à la rivière Cedar et au sentier de découverte sur place. Dans les mois les plus chauds, parfait pour une promenade facile de votre porte aux sons apaisants de l'eau de la rivière en cascade. En hiver, juste sur le sentier de motoneige d'Indian Lake avec un accès facile au lac Blue Mountain, au spéculateur, au lac Long et au réseau de sentiers de Moose River Plains. Le ski à Gore Mountain est à seulement 20 minutes. Indian Lake possède également sa propre piste de ski et sa patinoire. Great location, provided us access to numerous ADK hiking trails. Located on a nice secluded lot, easy access into the house. Fully furnished with everything you might need, plenty of natural light, spacious living areas. Really appreciated their attention to detail, especially the ‘welcome to our house’ bottle of wine. Definitely two thumbs up!!.

We had a such a nice time in the Adirondacks. The house was perfect, clean, and comfortable. We were close to everything we wanted to do and had everything we needed to make a fun stay for the kids. Steve and Jean were responsive, wonderful hosts!

Me and my family had so much fun staying at your rental. The house was beautiful and really enjoyed taking advantage of all of the activities in the area. We took advantage of the trail down the road and the beautiful scenic area set up. We would love to stay again in the future.

This is a fantastic property with two great baths, large bedrooms, and lots of room, it is very close to town, and minutes away from the Hudson put in. This checked all of our boxes!

Great location, quiet, clean. Short walk to Cedar River on a maintained trail leads to mowed area next to the river which is a great spot to hang out. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful property, well situated close to Gore Mountain for skiing and many hiking / snowshoeing trails. We had a fantastic long weekend with our three kids and their teenaged cousin, just be aware that the ladder leading to the loft sleeping area is a little steep.
The house is well maintained, well lit, very clean and comfortable for a family getaway (I always appreciate a host who has hand soap and thoughtful hooks in the bathroom for many towels!) The kids loved all the games and puzzles provided, and there’s lots of firewood available for the fireplace. Beds are comfortable, local restaurants are solid, and the host, Steve, is lovely to chat with and easy to reach. Highly recommend!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was the perfect location and central to many Adirondack lakes, towns and villages. We would definitely recommend for an Adirondack stay. Steve was also very helpful and is a an A plus host. Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin!

Property was as advertised. Spacious and very
clean. Easy access off the main road. Beds on first floor were comfortable (didn’t use the loft so not sure about those beds ). Fireplace was functioning well with lots of accessible wood in the garage. Owner was easily reachable. 20 minute drive to Gore Mountain for skiing which we did on 3 days. Very short drive (under 5 minutes ) into town where we ate two nights at the Indian Lake restaurant (decent food and reasonable price with a full sized bar attached that has some unique history behind it). Also ordered from the local pizzeria (Puterko’s) which had very good pizza (but the hours they are open are short so if you want pizza check the hours in advance ). Would definitely stay again.

Very nice property and comfortable. Plenty of comfortable sitting (no antiques), good size kitchen, with island, and eating area. Location is great, no traffic or close neighbors. Close to small restaurants and hiking trails. Bathrooms were a good size, clean and modern. Bedrooms were a good size.
The following cons can be put up with but if corrected this would be a 5 star stay: One of our party does all of the cooking, his comments: only two wine glasses, no juice glasses, no medium pots, only one big one and one small one.
His and his wife's comments on their bedroom: no rod in the closet, no dresser and the bed was very hard.
The other bedroom had a squeaky bed. Not really loud, reminded me of an old military spring bed, but the wife definitely mentioned it.
There seemed to be an issue with the vent on the fireplace, when the door was closed the fire went out. And the window on the fireplace was very dirty with soot.

My wife rented this for a family vacation. She hurt her knee, so our 32-year-old daughter and myself were the only ones who were able to come. This place was absolutely amazing. It was our daughter’s first time to the Adirondacks. All she talked about was coming back to the same place but staying longer. We didn’t want to leave. I just wish I knew what the 5 gallon bucket on the tree was for. It made for some great conversation!

This was the perfect little getaway location. The home was clean and so very quiet, just what we were looking for to celebrate our anniversary. There are a decent number of places to find food close by should you not want to cook and the home has everything you'd need if you decided you did want to cook. The hosts are great communicators! :)

All the ingredients you need for a perfect vacation getaway can be found in this wonderful home! It is spotless inside and is fully stocked with everything you need. The fire pit is awesome and the gas grill was used throughout our stay. There are many personal touches that make this home feel comfortable and cozy. This getaway is located near a small river as well as many lakes to fish or kayak in. There are also many places to hike and they are listed in the welcome book that greets you when you arrive. Steve and Jean were very quick to answer any questions I had. We just loved this great home and would not hesitate to stay there again!

We came out as a family (3 teenage boys) to enjoy a few days together before dropping the kids off at camp in Speculator. The boys all slept upstairs in the loft and they really enjoyed the place. We hiked Wakely Mt one day and Crane the next. Both were within an hour drive. Stewart’s Shop in town had the last minute items we needed for food. We would definitely stay here again.

This house is located in a central area that provided several hiking opportunities near by. The house is roomy and very comfortable. The satellite TV was appreciated on the rainy day we had. Nice fire pit. It was a great Adirondack getaway for us and our dogs.

We very much enjoyed the relaxation this cozy cabin offers. From watching deer just yards from the back window as we drank our morning coffee, to playing checkers on the game table with a fire going- it was the perfect respite.

I have rented several VRBOs up and down the east coast over the last several years. The owners of this cabin in Indian Lake are the most hospitable and accommodating of any place I have stayed….by far. This was our second year for an annual ski weekend. The cabin is perfect…nestled in the woods, private but close to many of the Adirondack sites and activities you could possibly want to enjoy. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short this year but the owners were very understanding and helpful. We wanted /needed for nothing. I would highly recommend this cabin for a weekend of skiing/ snowmobiling or to just get away for some time in the woods. Enjoy.

Steve and Jean's place was wonderful! We arrived on a snowy Friday evening to a freshly plowed and sanded driveway. The home is spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The fireplace warms the Livingroom so nicely, which was perfect after a day skiing at Gore (20 minutes away). Steve was extremely communicative and ensured our weekend stay was perfect. Thanks again!

The cabin was clean and well stocked with towels, wood, linens, and utensils. The community and location was quite, but very accessible to rt 28 and any needed amenities. We would welcome the opportunity to stay again while visiting Gore.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay and owner was very nice and responsive. The neighborhood is lively and is Close to hiking and skiing. We love McSweeneys Irish pub. Thank you!

The house is a great place in the Adirondaks to stay with 2 small families. My wife and our two kids, 6 and eleven months stayed at the cabin Friday and Saturday night along with my brother and his 3 children. His wife joined the following day. The owner sent me a hostile text message saying that he was charging me for 11 guests.... there only were only 8 guests and a baby, so I was confused. According to him he "reviewed the security camera footage" and stayed we had 2 extra guests arrive on Friday and then one more on Saturday for a total of 11. After a prolonged back and forth he "reviewed the footage and made a mistake, it was only two extra guests." so he decreases the added charge to just 2 extra guests per night from 3.
However, there were never any extra guests. He said a simple phone call asking for permission for extra guests would have been appreciated, but there were no extra guests. He wouldn't share his video surveillance with me so I could clear this up with VRBO. I suppose he could have called to check in when he thought he saw extra guests arriving on his surveillance.
He eventually dropped the charge and said "he would deal with this in his own way." Whatever that means.
I guess I won't be coming back to his cabin and may have trouble renting on here due his misunderstanding.
Steer clear or don't change your hair or clothes because you may confuse him on his cameras.

This is the third time we've stayed here, love the location, it's on a private road so not a lot of traffic, finally walked the path down to cedar river and it's a great little trail. Love the fact that the house is dog friendly, I always bring my pups to hike with us. I'm sure we'll be back

We absolutely loved this cabin! It was so cute and spacious! It had everything we needed and then some! Stephen and Jean were terrific and responded very quickly! The only thing maybe negative we would say is that the bed was way to firm for our liking! It was very uncomfortable

Perfect for two families meeting up in Indian Lake. Great sitting/fire pit area. Grills available. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen. Very clean. Would stay here again.

Peaceful setting
My wife and I and our golden retriever spent 5 days at this peaceful Adirondack cabin. It rained most of our first day there, but we found games and puzzles to occupy our time. Enjoyed a trip to the nearby Adirondack Museum and explored many of the hiking trails nearby with our dog. We found the cabin well equipped and cozy. The owner, Steve, was very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for an Adirondack getaway.

Only thing I would change is a switch to deactivate the motion sensor light on the front porch.
