The cottage on the lake was better than expected. We loved the decks and beach area. The host was available for all questions we had. I would highly recommend this lovely place.

Beautiful location and gorgeous lake. Lake was very clean and good for swimming. The house had pretty much everything we needed. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I are originally from Auburn, however, we haven't lived in NY for over 40 years; we live in South Florida. We have visited occasionally for a couple days and enjoyed everything the area offers. This time, we decided on an extended stay so we could have our Canadian snowbird friends experience the Finger Lakes. Christine's cottage was perfect for 3 adult couples. Honestly, having only one shower was not a problem. Taking turns was seamless. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for our quick small snacks and leisurely dinners- there was everything and anything you needed. The beds were comfortable, the rooms clean, sheets and towels plentiful. We would absolutely return...we left very rested and relaxed after spending days exploring wineries, waterfalls, lakes, and historical sites. Christine messaged frequently to see if we needed anything, but we had no requests! Check in and check out instructions were clear and easy. If we had anything at all to suggest, it would be that the cottage interior could use a paint touch up. However, that would not change anything about the comfort or cleanliness. Thank you Christine! 5 stars all the way...we may see you again one day!

We loved this property with two small kids. The view of the lake and sunset from the house was beautiful. The lawn was perfect for our 3 and 5 year old kids to play. Everything as expected. Very nice neighbors. Only 10 mins to Auburn and 15 mins to Skaneateles. Ice cream shop and mini golf down the road. Lovely stay!

The house had space for our full group of 10, and we were able to make good use of the private dock and fire pit

The family was able to do a bit of hiking and kayaking everyday from this great location.

The place was perfect place to get away for my mom’s 60th birthday! Snuggly fit 10 adults (ideally would fit 8 comfortably) with our blow up bed we brought. Exactly as pictured! Right on the water with a great deck down by the water but quite a steep set of steps to get there if there are any mobility issues. Close to skaneatles and auburn if wanting to explore the towns! Christine was great, responsive and flexible with us checking in a little early!

Nice accomodations; very responsive hosts; stairway to lower deck and the block structure below the deck could use a little work.

I rented this property close to Emerson Park where there was a wedding. I went with a group of friend from out of state. The home was warm and homey with the most relaxing view of the lake. We watched the sunsets from the deck above the water. Chrisitne was responsive and helpful. We had never been to the area and it was a great spot for our long weekend. You will not be disappointed in your stay here.

Met some friends here for the weekend, such a nice location. We enjoyed the decks and the kayak, great kitchen for a group.
House is older, cozy, and well stocked. Very quiet neighborhood. Would stay again, for sure.

Our group was in the area for a quick birthday get away. House is nice, owner was amazing and responsive.
Perfect quiet location for a get away
5.0 / 5.0
This place meets all the noted qualities. The house even older, has all one needs. The large table and another round table in the kitchen was utilized daily for meal preps. There are two downstairs bedrooms, double and king along with a downstairs full bath. There's a bath upstairs with a garden tub that went unused as we all prefer showers and there is a tub shower in the downstairs bathroom. The livingroom has two full sofas and a nice leather chair, carpeted and roomy for the kids to stretch out on for TV watching.
The deck on the house has a nice sized grill, table and several chairs. The fire pit was a nice touch for roasting marshmallows and sitting around it observing the great lake view. And the sunsets are spectacular!
The stairs to the water are fine. Just taking it slowly, hanging on the rails is key. My family enjoyed the water and the ease of getting in and out. There are no unexpected drop offs, just perfect for everyone.
We did take our own floating noodles, adding fun to lake play.
Overall we had all we needed and wanted. Being able to walk to the water from the house is HUGE. I'd recommend this place to anyone. The manager is prompt in responding and there's plenty of parking.

First, I’d like to say that Christine, the property manager, was excellent – responsive and helpful.
The property was as listed but several things could have been improved upon and were less that top notch. The towels and linens were old and thin. The lower deck was very nice but the railings on the stairs and lower deck were rickety. There was a laminated warning sign on the upstairs tub about how to gently use the handle as it was very easy to break. There were no games, books or entertainment things for the guest to use. The bushes and trees at the end of the yard were overgrown and greatly restricted what would have been a lovely view of the lake.
Some other things to be aware of - there is a dock but the water is very shallow (1.5 ft. when we were there) and not deep enough to park a pontoon boat without great difficulty and risk of damaging the propellor. The spa tub is difficult to get in and out of and there is no curtain if you were using the hand sprayer as a shower. The bed in the one bedroom is a double (not a queen) which is something we missed in the listing. And overall, the mattresses had seen better days.
All that said we had a very enjoyable time. Owasco Lake is lovely and not very busy. The home was comfortable and with most everything in working order. We were only 5 minutes from a great ice cream place (Tom Thumbs) and the towns of Auburn and Skaneateles were close with shops, restaurants and small museums to visit. The only other comment about the location is that the home is not close to many of the wineries in the Finger Lakes. Anyela’s Vineyards which was very good is 15-20 minutes away but it is a 45-minute drive to most of the rest.

We stayed at this property with two families including three children under 8. Owasco lake is beautiful and it is a short drive to Skaneateles lake too. Property has a very well kept yard and a small beach that is great for kids. We enjoyed using the two kayaks. The home has everything needed for cooking and grilling. Very much enjoyed our stay.

nice place but drafty in winter-had to keep playing with the heat-has 2 full baths but didn't realize only 1 shower b/c the other bathrm just has a jacuzzi which is fine but not when 3 ppl trying to shower & get ready at the same time-overall good experience though

We had a ton of fun. Taking in all the nature and enjoying the proximity to locations on the various lakes was great.

We knew the property was not going to be top hotel quality but there were a couple of things that disappointed us. Primarily in housekeeping. The owner may want to review these things with whatever service they use as I'm sure they pay for better service than they are getting.
1) When my daughter turned down the full size bed upstairs, there was hair all over the sheets so she had to strip and find new sheets to put on.
2) We went to use the washer and dryer and found the dryer full of towels and linens which we assume were clean but we left them stacked on top of the dryer to be sure.
3) Back dwoor handlea s broken so when you open the door from outside, it rotates off the door
.4) There was only one key for the property left on the key rack at the front door and luckily we tried it in the door or we would have been locked out. It only fits the dead bolt and not the primary handle which is what most people would lock when leaving.
5) steps to dock and the lower deck itself are a bit treacherous and in disrepair. Luckily we were not there for water sport so we did not use it other than to explore the property.
6) cabinet drawers need repair as they do not close properly.
Other than that, the property was as pictured and advertised.

We enjoyed our girls get away on the lake.
We would stay here again.

Everything about the property is great as is the owner and working with her. Only complaint would be the part of the property down near the water.
The stairs down & dock are a bit unstable and dated. The deck near the water could use some sprucing up, as could the concrete storage underneath it. A redo of all of the amenties near the wonder would reallly go a long way.
Aside from that, can’t complain ! A great stay, nice location on the lake and nice easy access to other towns and lakes.

My thanks to Host, Christine, for updates on the property after the recent tropical storm-related flooding around the dock. The house was clean and well furnished and just the right size for our family. Check in process was seamless. All in all, we had an enjoyable stay! There were a couple of issues. however: (1) Whoever last used the grill on the deck did not clean it properly and it was a lot of work to clean it well enough for our use. (2) Anyone who has mobility issues should take note that the house is at the top of the cliff and stairs down to the lower deck/dock are very steep. (3) The dock was unusable due to the flood/storm damage but we understand that couldn't be fixed in time before we checked in.
Bottom line: If you're okay with the long stairway down to the lake, this is a lovely property.

House is great for a family get away. Kitchen well equip with cooking equipment. Some small repair needed- ie- towel rack falling out of all (just didn’t want to hurt anything further)
Dock needs repair but is usable, does not extend very far for fishing but the lake is EXCELLENT for walking out to fish/swimming/children.

The house was in a great location with lots of room for my family. It was nice to have the kayaks to use, and we used them a lot. We had a wonderful week making memories. Lots of fun, sun, swimming, kayaking and food. Thank you for being so quick to respond when I called about the dock needing some adjustment. A wonderful time was had by all!

We were pleasantly surprised by the mid 70’s weather in June, warm but not too hot. We found plenty to do and enjoyed relaxing by the fire after dinner watching the beautiful sunsets. Will be coming back next gear

The Izzo's were amazing hosts! Great lawn for corn hole and kan jam games and enjoyed eating our meals down by the water. We had a great time and highly recommend for families or friends looking for a weekend getaway on the water. Thank you Christine for a great stay :)

Sunsets were beautiful. from the house. We spent time on the deck and in the yard. As others mentioned, the steps to the lake are steep and look unstable, but the steps and railing are very sturdy. The house could use some upkeep, but it was super clean and cozy. Christine was very easy to communicate with throughout the booking process! In addition, the neighbor was very nice and welcomed us to the lake.
