Tutto, Casa Lira è perfetta. Comoda, spaziosa, fornita di ogni servizio e necessità, è una bellissima villa con un panorama splendido sull'oceano. Con una macchina è possibile raggiungere Funchal e qualsiasi altra meta dell'isola in tempi ragionevoli. Menzione d'onore va all'host, Fatima, che si è dimostrata premurosa, attenta, e disponibilissima a fornire suggerimenti, indicazioni e ad aiutarci nelle nostre necessità. Ci ha fatto inoltre trovare dei doni di benvenuto che sono stati graditissimi e che hanno reso la nostra esperienza superiore a qualsiasi aspettativa avessimo. Tutto considerato, questi sono stati il miglior luogo e il miglior host presso cui abbiamo mai soggiornato. Se torneremo a Madeira, risiederemo sicuramente di nuovo a Casa Lira, e consigliamo a tutti coloro che vogliono visitare l'isola di farlo.

Heated swimming pool Host

Our stay at Casa Lira will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives. We felt like in paradise in this house. Fatima is a wonderful person, she took care of us with all her heart. To welcome her, she prepared a delicious dinner and gave us lovely and tasty gifts. The kids were happy, and so were we the adults. The villa was equipped with everything, we lacked nothing, it was very spacious, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. Billiards, heated swimming pool, pizza oven... We already want to go back there.

Tolles, riesiges Haus. Alles sehr sauber und es fehlt an nichts. Der Pool ist toll, sauber und mit einer wahnsinnig schönen Aussicht. Fatima hat uns ein Willkommenspaket mit Essen und allerlei regionalen Köstlichkeiten bei der Ankunft zur Verfügung gestellt, sodass wir am ersten Abend nicht nochmal los mußten. Top! Auch wurde anstandslos während des Aufenthalts der Pool gereinigt, nachdem dieser durch Asche eines Waldbrandes in den Bergen verschmutzt war. Fatima war überhaupt immer sofort zur Stelle, wenn wir was benötigen. Außerdem ist die Außenküche, direkt neben dem Pool großartig. Man kann hier sogar im Holzofen Pizza backen.

Die Küche im Haus ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Da waren wir aber nie. Ein Ventilator oder Klimaanlage in den zwei vorderen Schlafzimmern wäre ganz schön. Aber das ist jammern auf hohen Niveau...

We loved the view, the space, the comfort and style and most of all the host. The host at all times tried to make the stay exceptionally comfortable and pleasing for us.

The rainy and stormy weather for a few days in a row unfortunately didn't allow us to use the pool as much as we would have liked. I guess we have just been unlucky. Our host however tried to make things as comfortable for us as possible.

I’ve stayed at Booking, Airbnb, and VRBO homes around the world and Fatima’s Casa Lira is hands down the best of them all. Fatima is the best host…period. The house is exactly as advertised and is a pleasure to stay. It is quiet, fully furnished and has everything necessary for a long term stay. Short stays could probably be car free as the grocery and other basic amenities are within walking distance (e.g. poncha bars, pizza). A vegetable and fish truck comes by once a week. Taxi service is readily available. Longer terms stays would benefit from a rental car. Access to the main road to Funchal, Paul de Serra is easy. overall this is a fantastic house to stay.

The property is fantastic. It really made for an excellent holiday. Lots of space for a family with 2 teenagers (and 4 bathrooms). The outdoor pool, sun deck and kitchen are perfectly set up for spending the days in the sun. The pool table, bar and balcony upstairs are great for hanging out in, in the evening. The house is high on the hill so the views are spectacular and perfect for watching the sunset over the sea. The 2 kitchens (yes 2!) are very well equipped, everything needed to make meals. There is a built in BBQ/pizza oven in the poolside kitchen, all stocked with wood. The living room has a generous sofa and TV (with apps). The poolside kitchen has a large TV with apps also. There is 2 WiFi routers to cover the house, no issues with bandwidth. The bedrooms are well decorated and beds were very comfy. lots of pillows to choice from also. Fatima (host) was brilliant, so welcoming and communicative. She met us at the house on entry. She had generously stocked the house with welcome goodies. Any questions we had she answered immediately. Down the hill and around the corner is a pizzeria, cafe/bar and a couple of shops. A couple of miles away is Calheta, which has a marina/promenade with several restaurants/bars and a large supermarket. Also beaches for swimming in the sea. To get the best out of Madeira you need a rental car. This certainly works out best for enjoying the house also. We spent the week exploring the island, visiting natural swimming pools, waterfalls and rain forests. We went canyoning and fly fishing for trout. The restaurants were very good and never had a bad meal. One if the best Holidays we had as a family.
