We loved the whole vibe of this hotel. We stayed in a beachfront bungalow, all of which are located only 10 paces from a beautiful, quiet stretch of beach. The bungalow itself was a good size with some very nice touches. You are 400yards from the centre of Santa Teresa which had a younger, laid back feel to it with alot of great places to eat and drink. This is a super relaxing hotel and town to visit. It may be worth noting that the surf and riptide here is quite strong, you wouldn't want young ones to enjoy the sea unsupervised.
The accommodation is not cheap, to charge for breakfast is a bit tight.

The staff at Nantipa went over and above to make my visit one I won’t forget. We were all on a first name basis by day 2.
Minor critique, but I’d look to set up a mini bar by the pool.

incredible. we paid the extra for the private pool beach front room and it was just perfect.the bedroom was stunning, with the comfiest bed in the world. we had the most wonderful stay. off season in June enjoying empty pools, quiet beaches and lovely sunny days.
We would have loved a key card entry to the back door so you can get back in via the beach without having to go round via the hotel:)

We stayed there for 3 weeks with my wife and our baby daughter.
The stay, the location, the beach, the wilderness, the people, everything was stunning!
The people were exceptionnally friendly and service driven, taking care and were incredibly nice to our baby daughter.
Nantipa being on the top-of-the scale of Santa Teresa, which is an expensive area (not to say, very expensive area), is not cheap in terms of food, specifically if you are planning on eating there frequently.
We loved the staff, the restaurant, and the local dishes were great, but the menu lacks in my opinion, some more affordable options for people who do not want to systematically spend that much on food. Ultimately it was easy to cater food elsewhere and bring it back but that's the one thing i'd change if I could!
Maybe also, for people with infants, be aware that the beach is not reaaaally kids friendly, there are big waves (hey it's a surf spot..) and rocks just in front of the hotel and it is not advised to swim there. Again, logic as it is a surf area but to be taken into consideration for those with kids!

Very nice facilities and rooms, close to a beautiful beach good food
I had to turn off the mini-fridge at night because it was too loud. The wifi router and phone also had bright lights which I had to cover with clothes

Great staff and stunning location. Restaurant was probably the best in the local area too - try the romantic option with fire torches on the beach!
Wifi didnt have 100% coverage in the beach area - but mostly was very good. Nothing else to say on the negative side! Not cheap but well worth it. More healthy options outside of egg on menu would be good!

Nantipa was the best vacationing experience I’ve ever had. The staff was exceptional. The property is amazing. The food was incredible. The spa was great. The cleaning staff was great. Everyone was so nice to us and did anything and everything to make our stay the best it could be. There is honestly not one thing I would change about our time at Nantipa, and they have earned a customer for life.
Nothing. It was perfect.

Beautiful, small property on the beach of Santa Teresa. The location, pool and rooms at the hotel were superb! Would 100% stay again.
Very minor but we had a Garden Room with a private plunge pool (Ninta 10) - our plunge pool was barely in the sun all day (unlike the garden rooms either side of us), and although the vegetation around the pool was beautiful it was also a bit overlooked (neighbouring entrance and pathway at back).
Only other thing is service at the bar/restaurant on the beach was very slow.

The room was clean and the beachfront location was ideal
2 MAJOR issues:
Our room was broken into all within a 30
minute window as we went down to go
watch the sunset. We feel this had to be an inside job by someone on the staff that watched us leave our room and knew it would be vacant. The hotel also has a guard on the beach who supposedly is on duty to make sure no one but guests enter the property from the beach but he’s looking down at his phone the entire time so not watching as to who is coming or going on to the property. All of our valuables were stolen! including a Mac computer (does not fit in the hotel safe), IPad, watches, jewelry, Bose headphones and other items. We would of out the other items in the safe but we were literally zipping outside to watch the sunset and coming right back to the room. Mind you this is supposed to be one of the nicest and certainly one of the priciest hotels in Santa Teresa so you’d never expect to have your room broken into and be robbed of all your valuables within a 30 minute window of leaving your room!!! and what does the hotel staff offer to do???!!! they apologize and said they would investigate. Thats it! We were told by some of the staff that our incident wasn’t the first time a guest has been robbed but it’s because of the fact that the property is beach front. That’s no excuse!! So we ask to speak to the owner and the manager says he’s on site but too busy to come speak with us. We paid for the most expensive room at the hotel, the beachfront bungalow suite for 3 nights and the owner doesn’t have a few minutes to come speak with us about being robbed of all our valuables??!! I’ve traveled the world extensively and only stay at fine hotels and resorts and NEVER have I ever been robbed at any of these places or been treated so poorly by the staff. The hotel took zero responsibility for the issue and offered zero compensation of any kind.
The second issue is that we were never told when we booked that our room would be directly next to their construction site.

The amenities, staff, location were all great.
Just needs a little final touches to put it over the top such as,
The pool is gorgeous but when night falls the pool lights are not fully on which makes that whole area dangerously dark at night. So much so that our daughter nearly misjudged and walked straight into the pool.
There should be eco friendly to go cups for the delicious coffee that’s in the suite. For all the outdoor activities and tours that are offered leaving early from hotel site this will be very accommodating.
This also is perfect opportunity to mention that when leaving at 7am with a tour operator especially if it was booked directly with the hotel, hotel should offer or provide a morning snack to set someone off with since restaurant on site doesn’t open until departure time (7am). Most of the tours only offer lunch leaving us guests in a very uncomfortable mood and place for hours.
The rooms are very humid due to the nature and environment of the location. There should be thought placed in providing all rooms with dehumidifiers or some form of humidity control system to prevent this from accumulating.
Overall hotel was beautiful, staff amazing surroundings spectacular. Most likely will stay here again if return to the area of Santa Teresa.

The room did not have a microwave.

Stunning surrounding with well appointed furniture. All the small details in the experience from the moment you enter the hotel. Gorgeous swimming pool. Family friendly place.
Expensive restaurant. Breakfast should be included given the price of the accommodation.

This is hands down the best hotel we have stayed at in our 2 weeks in Costa Rica! The staff are so nice and helpful and the facilities are just dreamy. We stayed in a room with a private pool - perfect for a couple like us!
The vibe of Nantipa is still clean and fancy but the perfect "boho" beach experience. Unforgettable!!! The restaurant was also great. Also, how could we forget breakfast on the beach with the "house dog" Blue! :) we were very sad to leave and that they were booked out. Would have loved to stay longer - next time!
