Very close to the beach and newly constructed boardwalk leading to cute restaurants. The host was awesome and provided breakfast and good coffee!!

We booked a stay at one of the Sunrise Inn cottages during our visit to Puerto Armuelles. You can't get any closer to a beach than this--this is oceanfront!. The cottage is perfect for a couple. The continental breakfast is served alfresco at their outdoor kitchen/dining area. There are also comfortable chairs under a large palapa where you can sit, read a book, have a lovely cocktail and watch the ocean waves across the sandy beach. The proprietor, Ron, a very welcoming and charming man, lives on the grounds and is available to provide any information you may need on excursions and restaurants in the town. In fact, there are a couple of great oceanside restaurants within a short walking distance to the Sunrise. You can't beat the value that these cottages provide for oceanfront accommodations including breakfast.

colorfully painted cabins just the right size. a/c worked great... almost too good. chilled after taking a dip in the cool pool. Friendly staff

mangoes falling from tall tree on roof in middle of the night scared us. fair warning would alleviate some stress. pool could have been clearer but that is always a work in progress in the tropics especially when it rains or is heavily used.

PROS: Breakfast was good. Room was clean, roomy shower, water pressure excellent, plenty of hot water, room had a mini fridge and a kitchen sink.

CONS: Mattress was not firm and not straight, two of us were sinking in/to the middle of it. Also, there is a new boardwalk construction is going on - so the ocean shore appearance is messy because of that. Of course at no fault of the resort but nevertheless. Ah, food in the area was mediocre at best, we tried 2 places and both were bad.

Quiet. Across road from beach. 3 reasonably good restaurants in 5 minutes walk. Beds comfortable. Fruit at breakfast was good

Unfortunately there is a sewage treatment plant not too far away. Sometimes bad smells arrive when going to beach. Unit could be a bit cleaner but remember ocean areas are hard on facilities.
