Had a great time. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all. Had a small issue figuring out the hot tub and a small problem with the garbage disposal. They were there within a few minutes. Both gentlemen were polite and very helpful.House was great, plenty of room for eveyone. The staff on the phone were always polite. Thanks for a great time!!! We'll be backing 😎

Perfect for our big group of friends, 10 total. Centrally located, spacious, and lots of hot water for showers! We really enjoyed having our own private pool & hot tub space. This would be a great rental choice for families too. Nice, private neighborhood with a cute bunk bed room. Friendly and helpful staff. Very responsive to questions and the check-in/check-out process was very simple.

First the positives! The location is perfect, the amount of bedrooms is great for large families, the outdoors amenities are nice. The kitchen is very small but very well furnished. The only thing it needs is a few more sauce pans. Now for the negatives. First of all the living area downstairs is very small for the amount of people that can stay there. Also the kitchen has almost no counter space and is very small. The dining area can handle a lot of people but the chairs need a little TLC, the seats need some reinforcing. Also downstairs the water pressure is almost non-existant. The kitchen sink has a heavy trickle and the bedroom has the same issue in the shower and sink. The shower downstairs is also very narrow to get into, I am not a large person but had to turn sideways to enter the shower. The king bedroom had no lights that worked other than a couple of bedside lamps. The entire home needs some major upgrades! Outdoors was a nice retreat, especially for the kids. The only downside was that the pool water was not really cool. It still felt better than the heat outside but a little cooler would have been nice. I had my doubts about renting this home after reading some reviews, but the outside sold me on it because my grandkids love to play basketball. I'm not sure if I would rent this home again, I think it would need some upgrades before that will happen

Family of 20 but ended up with 9 who were ale to enjoy this birthday weekend ON THE BEACH! House was in the PERFECT Location and large enough to have our own space for quiet time. Pool and hot tub was more enjoyable than the beach. Was a bit too windy but still had warm ocean water. Were able to enjoy EVERYTHING the house had to offer. Very quiet and relaxing. Easy check in and out. House had a few minor things that were fixed within an hour of calling. Overall, WE ARE ALREADY LOOKING FOR A DATE to come back so the entire family can enjoy again. Thank you SPI for an amazing weekend!!!

Overall our stay was good. Check in process was very easy. Communication with SPI rentals was excellent.
The pool and basketball court was amazing for our family of mostly teens. The home itself was OK. There was nothing terribly unpleasant, although the home does need some updates, and could be cleaned better upon arriving. The organization of the the dishes, pots and pans, silverware, and cooking utensils needs some attention as does the dishwasher for those families doing cooking in the home. Overall our stay was good, and I would recommend this facility for large family groups.

We had 15 family members staying together ages ranging from one to 80. As mentioned in other reviews this house shows larger in the pictures, and is more tired than the pictures show.
We had a great stay and there was room for everyone. The pool is smaller than it appears but was still very nice, hot tub was nice also! Basketball court was very nice and used quite a bit!
We did call maintenance and they were very prompt and addressed our questions. This company was really great to work with.
The location of the property is awesome, I would stay here again.

I know that images online for homes are stretched and manipulated so the property appears bigger, but I have never seen one so far off. The rooms are very much smaller than they appear in the images. The pool slide appeared to be huge and its a baby slide, not meant for adults. The air hockey is a mini air hockey, not all size as it appears. Those are just a couple examples to give you the idea on this. I was also very disappointed with the shape the house was in. Cabinets hanging off hinges, cabinets don't shut properly, no rugs, squished together furniture, and just very cheaply done. One image shows a large door going out to the side yard that is no longer there but you can see in the wall where it used to be. In addition I found a large rat trap beside my bed. Thankfully it was empty, but disturbing to see. If you want a house that can sleep many, has a nice outdoor area of the kids, and you are fine with low end amenities then it will be fine for you, but the mansion and higher end look I saw in the images were not what the house actually is. The property management was spot on, very helpful and made check in and out very easy.

We had a large group -4 couples, 4 kids ages 11-20 and 1infant.
Great accommodations for sleeping. Great location and across the street from the beach. Outdoor space was awesome and well used by all. Pool is large and kids loved the basketball court. Would recommend a car unless you plan to cook most of your meals in the house. The kitchen is small in comparison to the house and the appliances are mid-grade, but they are functional and adequate. The house is not luxurious and is quite modest in its finishings, however, it was clean and fine for our group. There is a lot of furniture and living space which was most important for a group our size. I would recommend this property. We loved how close to the beach it it.

We loved the house and pool! Just it seems to be a little dated on the interior but the space made up for it. We had some issues with the AC upstairs, but maintenance was quick to respond and fix it.
Location was perfect for beach access and walking distance to many shops and the grocery store. We planned our vacation to be relaxing and it was just that! If we ever get back to SPI we'll definitely consider this house again!

Perfect beach house for entire family!
We had a group of 16 of us and the house was amazing! We were a little afraid of having high expectations and being let down after some of the reviews but we had not ONE issue! The house was clean, the AC worked great, it was spacious, the game room was popular for our teens and the pool and basketball court kept everyone plenty entertained after winding down from an all day beach day! Checkin was fast and simple, and the property management was always nice and helpful to all my questions. Our family very much enjoyed this house and will be back!

My family and I had a great stay at this beach house. We enjoyed the pool and basketball court a lot. The house is spacious and right across from the beach which was really nice. Overall, very clean and comfortable place to stay. We will be coming back to the island in September with another family group and have already reserved this house again. Thank you!

Great house! We had a very nice stay with our family and a great time on South Padre. The house was clean and the two little issues we ran into were fixed right away by the management company. Great service and very nice place to vacation.

Great location terrible house
Unfortunately the pictures' and description of this house were deceiving . The aesthetics and landscape have been poorly cared for. The layout of the house is not conductive for families (perhaps college students). The kitchen is very small and our family likes to cook but the space was limited. . The stove's front burners were either on or off, no heat regulation whatsoever. We had some burnt food. Kitchen cabinets are old and poor condition. The refrigerator was leaking condensation and constantly need to mop up. First floor master bedroom bathroom is a joke. If you weigh more then 200 lbs. you might have a problem getting into the shower. The sliding glass door is very narrow and not squared.. The location , pool , and basketball court are great amenities but the landscaping is overgrown with cockroaches crawling around as inside the house. The house also does not have a pleasant smell. This house needs a complete makeover and new appliances to be worth the price and I paid a pretty penny. Never again.

We really enjoyed our stay. I was a little worried about past reviews, but it was a great place for our family getaway. We enjoyed being close to the beach and having the private pool. The pool is big compared to some other houses we've rented on the island. Our boys really liked having the basketball court and the pool table. Great stay.

South Padre Trip
We were a little skeptical about mixed reviews but once we got in the house everyone thought it was great. The location could not be better! It really is right across the street from the beach. We were out by the water most of the day and late into the evening, was easy to walk right back up to the house. The house was clean, lots of space for everyone and has a great pool. Nice property and great service from the management company. We will definitely come back.

Sorry to say you live in you where I would never rent from this property ever again
First and foremost believe every review you read about this property about the downfalls when we checked in and open the door sorry to say but they were roaches going everywhere the smell of the house is true it smells like sewer the house was not even clean properly the floors were horribly dirty walls were horribly dirty The pool table was broken leaning to the side Hot tub didn’t work til a day later after they had Maintenance come out only one side of the barbecue pit work went in the downstairs restroom in the living room on the sink there was mice poop or rat poop water pressure is horrible fans that they supply for you in the house are horribly dirty basically the house needs to be re-renovated honestly the house is hazard with the roach infested problem and mice or rats I call the property manager I explained to him the issues he told me he could send cleaning crew out after the fact we already checked in and I had my family there I asked the property manager if there was anything he could do to move us or contact owner and he simply laughed at me and when I confronted him about it he told me he wasn’t laughing at me it was a nervous laugh i’m not the person to complain when it comes to rentals because I’ve never had issues like this ever so my suggestion is before you want to rent this property don’t believe in the pictures and believe in the bad reviews

Buckner Family Vacation
My husband and I rented this house for our kids and grandkids to spend a weekend together during the kids spring break. It was a little colder than we thought it would be but that did not stop us from having a great time with our family. It was especially nice to have the heated pool and hot tub. The grandkids had a blast swimming and playing basketball. And the house is just across from the beach, so it was convenient for frequent trips to watch the sunrise in the morning and for the kids to play in the water. We rented this house for our family and had a great time. The property was very clean and had everything that we needed. We used the heated pool and the hot tub more than anything since it was cold when we were there. The kids had fun and it was nice to be with our family since we don't get to see everyone in one place often. It was just the right size for our family of 14. Didn't feel too crowded. The house was in good condition, no complaints from anyone in our group. And we liked being right across from the beach. My wife & I were able to catch the sunrises in the morning which was nice. We would stay here again and would recommend to others. Thank you, Jedd

Perfect Break for Spring Break
It is the perfect place to bring teenage boys for spring break. They had an absolute blast. They went from playing pool to playing basketball to swimming in the pool. The location was great. It was close to everything. As a mother of a 17 year old boy, it was everything to hear my son say, "Thanks for planning this trip, Mom! This is better than anything I could have thought up!" The only thing that was a disappointment was none of the tv's worked well. The guide wasn't accurate. The wifi would drop out and the television would suddenly change channels or skip back constantly during a show.

Unfortunately this house was not up to our standards. Besides the floors being dirty, the walls being dirty, the lack of blankets, the hard pillows…the beds were absolutely horrible. When you have part of your family leave early because the house was not up to our standards, well that is very sad. For the amount we paid per night for this house, I would have rather stayed in a hotel. It's very very disheartening to spend $10,000 for a week in a house that wasn't even cleaned properly, well it's a shame. The pool and hot tub were freezing and even after calling management and them looking at it, saying it was fixed, it still was freezing. Overall our experience in south Padre was subpar due to this house. When you can't sleep at night due to the uncomfortable situation with ALL the beds, well, it ruins your time.

I will start off by saying the pictures on the website was deceiving. The house was not kept up and it was very dirty. I will say that my group was very disappointed. It was definitely not worth the hard earned money we spent on our yearly vacation. There beds were horribly uncomfortable, the only people in our group who didn't complain about the beds were 5 and 8 years old. Even the teenagers had problems sleeping. The toilets don't flush well, that was quite a blunder. The pool and hot tub did not stay warm. Even after we called management, it was freezing. I would not recommend this place, nor will I use SPI rentals again. It was very disappointing. It's sad that 3 adults left 3 days early due to this house. There was more to complain about, but I think you get my drift.

Beach Trip
My family and I stayed at this property for a few days and we had a nice time. The weather was a little cold, but we were able to enjoy it still with the heated pool & hot tub. We also liked being so close to the beach. You can just walk right across the street to the access, so it feels like you are almost beach front. The property was clean and service from SPI Rentals was great. We didn't have any issues. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable there. We have shown this house to another family that are close friends of ours and we might be all coming back for a trip together in the summer. Thank you

3 Generation Vacation!
This was our second year in a row staying on SPI and renting with SPI Rentals. The people at SPI seem genuinely nice and want to be helpful. My frustration both years is that we can never get a straight answer on what needs to be done to make the pool and hot tub warm up. Two different properties, same story each time. I know that it's cold in Texas in January by their standards, but being from Minnesota, we are going to want to use the the water amenities. I think it took 4 visits (with different explanations on each visit) before we felt like we were in control of how to heat the two different water features.
Last year we left glowing reviews for the property we stayed at. This year, we can't do the same. This property was ok. It just looks a but neglected. A broken leg on a coffee table, sloppy paint job on the trim, lack of landscaping around the pool (just dirt and bottle caps) uncomfortable and worn out couches....I guess the list could go on and on.
We were concerned about a few previous reviews that mentioned a strange odor. We did not have any issues with that.
One other thing that affected us, as we were traveling with small children - there isn't a bathtub in the home. Also, since the weather wasn't always great we have realized there aren't a lot of indoor things to go and do with small children in the surrounding area. That is not the fault of SPI rentals, but just an observation.
We do love SPI and will likely return next year, but are considering a VRBO type home rental in hopes of better service in regards to the pool.

Adequate
Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms are a plus for this property, as well as the proximity to beach access points. The pool area was also quite nice. We had a few issues that were immediately handled by the rental company. Overall the property is not as pictured - they were probably taken years ago, and could use some work for the price charged. We did get a short blast of the sewer smell (not sure where that was from) and the kitchen is very small for the capacity of the house.

Not what we expected
From the moment we walked in, the odd smell foreshadowed the way the rest of the visit. While the pool and outside area were fine and as described, the kitchen was so small only one person could be in it at a time, the furniture was very worn and things looked more like a college dorm rather than a vacation place. The last night a sewer gas smell was horrible and we left early the next morning. Beds were ok and a/c worked fine, yet space was limited nearly everywhere despite the description of it being spacious. Have rented many houses before in the area but this was not one we will return to and don't recommend.

Location is terrific
The house is just as advertised. Great home. A couple of complaints -- the owner will only allow a cancellation if you cancel with 60 days notice. That is not a realistic request. The management company offered to "allow us to pay the amount in full," and not show up. They would then list the property as being available in the hopes that someone else rents it. At the cost of this property, that is not a realistic expectation. The TV's were difficult to work. We could only basically watch Netflix on the TV's. The internet went out while we were there, so no TV at all. While there, a tropical storm was on the way (the day we were leaving.) The management company texted me the day before and asked if we would move all the furniture from the outside to inside the home (while we were still there.)If we could not, they would send someone to do it. Trying to move 25+ pool chairs/loungers into the house is not a realistic request. The hot tub water would not get hot.

Great House for daughter's sweet 16
My close family and friends enjoyed this beach house. It was a fun environment beach house having private pool with slide, hot tub, games and basketball court. My children were bummed that pool table was broken and there was no air hockey table, but still had fun. The rooms were large and had extra pillows and sheets if needed. The beach house was large even for our guest but needed to be cleaned (had to buy a broom) outdoors before our guest arrived. There was also a smell of sewer odor and needed to purchase candles before guest arrived. Kitchen is small, but we made it work.
Overall it was a great stay for our large family! We definitely recommend for large groups!!! Thank you SPI rentals.
