This was our third trip to Cape Charles and second time staying at Cape Escape. Everything was absolutely great in the house and exactly as described in the listing. Everything was provided - plenty of linens, towels, paper products, detergents, etc. We were a group of six (2 parents, 2 grandparents, and 2 kids) and the setup met our needs perfectly. Both stays we've traveled with a pet and Ashley was perfectly accommodating. Check-in was seamless and we rolled right into our vacation. The location is great, just a couple of blocks to the beach. The historic section of Cape Charles is small, so everything is walkable or runnable, though we rented the golf cart too (a must!) in order to enjoy zipping around town. The house is also a block from the park, which made it easy to enjoy the Saturday evening concert even after a day of travel.
Cape Charles is a very low-key vacation town. Almost everything shuts down by 8PM and it's pretty quiet throughout the day - exactly what we were seeking in a family vacation. You can relax, run, play in the park, go to the beach, check out the small shops, visit the local museum, or enjoy the restaurants/cafes. We didn't golf or fish, but those were also possible.
All in all, Cape Charles and Cape Escape are both great places to visit and stay. Thanks again to Ashley and family for hosting us again!

We had a lovely stay at this property with family. The house was clean, well maintained and great for our family get away with pets. The golf cart helped in getting gear to and from the beach.

We have been visiting Cape Charles every summer since 1987, both before and after children and a series of small dogs along the way. This “home away from home” was very accommodating for our family and just right for our preferences. Communication was very good and I knew that our quality of stay was important and valued by Ashley. We would certainly recommend as well as return in the future if possible.

The house was immaculate and very comfortable. The host was responsive to any questions. Highly recommend adding on the golf cart. Makes hauling stuff to the beach a breeze and although the town is small and very walkable, it’s convenient to have the cart. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Cape Charles.

We thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful house. Every amenity that I can think of was available. It was clean and well decorated. We made wonderful memories and would definitely stay again. We enjoyed the golf cart and the location was close to everything we love in Cape Charles. The host was also wonderful and immediately responsive to any questions that we had. The fenced in back yard was great for a dog. We would go back tomorrow if we could!

This is a beautiful, well maintained home just a few blocks from the center of downtown Cape Charles. Very clean, well stocked with everything you need and the host was great at communicating with us. We will definitely stay here again!!

This was our first time visiting Cape Charles and we had a wonderful experience! The house was very comfortable and we appreciated that it was dog friendly. In fact, the whole town was very welcoming to Enzo (our dog). He enjoyed hanging out at the brewery, meeting the shop owners, and exploring the beach. The State Park was also a fun field trip! We would love to come back when the weather warms up a bit.

Great 2 night getaway. Everything about the house was exactly as listed. The house was clean, master bed was comfortable, lots of extras and neat touches around thehouse. Beautifully decor. The front porch was lovely. Use of the golf cart was fantastic. So neat to drive around town in it. Walking to the beach was easy and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again.

I cannot say enough good things about this house and the owner. The house was impeccably clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect. It offered everything we needed for a “home away from home” trip. We enjoyed the town and its surroundings and all the area had to offer, despite the weather not cooperating. The ability to have our dog with us was beyond priceless! Ashley was a phenomenal host and the whole experience was seamless. We will be back!! :)

My family (and our dogs) stayed for a long weekend for a wedding. The house is cozy and clean. Communication with the owner is top notch. All questions were answered immediately. Cape Charles is a small town with very friendly people. I HIGHLY recommend using a golf cart rental to get around town. It’s just worth the ease of driving and parking. Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay.

This was one of the most enjoyable times we’ve had at Cape Charles and it was directly attributed to the comfort we experienced in this rental . For the first time ever we brought our pup with us and the property couldn’t have been nicer for us. I’ve This property was described as high quality and very very clean and it was . Our family of 6 enjoyed and found this very maintained home to be very comfortable. It is in walking distance of the beach, main street, and there's a lovely park right around the corner.

We had two weeks together in this beautiful house, which as their guest sign says “treat it like home” - and we did. Casual, comfortable, clean, inviting and had all you could need. From the short golf cart ride to the beach early to pick our spot to setup, the neighborhood sidewalks and a community walking path to walk our dogs, a short walk to the large park and playground area, and of course Mason Ave and it’s stores and restaurants and ice cream shops (Brown Dog was our favorite, was worth the wait). We had home cooked dinners out of the kitchen, we grilled and chilled, and even made s’mores and sat at the picnic table until the evening bugs forced us in. We played games and cards at the table, and we sat on the porch to read and watch a thunderstorm roll through. We went up to Chincoteague and Wallops for a day, but the majority of our time was local and at the beach. We walked the pier and watched ships and people fishing. We helped support quite a few restaurants and shops, and we already look forward to our next trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation! Our two weeks seemed like forever to get here then over far too quickly. Thank you for making your house feel like our “home”….or as our grandchildren called it,”our beach house”.
We all drove away with many memories made. Thank you for making it possible.

This was a great rental to get away with family for a week. The home was clean and well appointed and had plenty of space for two couples and a child. Beach chairs, toys, kitchen tools, and basic toiletries were available, and the ability to rent the golf cart was a great (and highly recommended!) bonus. Communication was great and we enjoyed everything about our stay.

Cape Escape is surprisingly large enough to allow everyone in the family some quiet time when they want it and also total family together time.
If I had a question, the owners were immediately in touch.
Excellent location to the beach, park and all activities in Cape Charles.
The owners created a house that provides beach magic necessary to make for a complete Cape Charles vacation.

This was our first trip to Cape Charles. The town was sleepy at night, which was perfect, and the shops were lovely. We spent nearly every day on the bay, and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town on the golf cart. Anything you could need is within the town or a short five minute drive to the local grocery store. The house was absolutely beautiful, and perfectly clean when we arrived. There were ample towels, linens, and pillows. The beds were very comfortable, and the house was refreshingly cool from the outside humidity.
The only improvement I would suggest would be a small gravel pathway or similar, from the outdoor shower to the back door. The mulching is nice, but it sticks to wet feet. Otherwise, everything was perfect.
Communication with the owners was also great, when needed. They were very responsive, and did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable, fun, and pleasant as possible. I am hopeful we will visit again soon, and will definitely stay with these hosts again! Thank you so much!

Just got back from a week at Cape Escape. It was wonderful! The home was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. It was nice to have the grill (there was an extra tank if we needed it) and space to have meals outside. In walking distance to so many cute stores and restaurants, as well as the beach. We rented the golf cart and I highly recommend it as it was a great way to get around town and to take items to the beach. Plenty of beach chairs and two umbrellas for your days at the beach. The beach was nice too and we went wonderful, friendly people. If you have younger children, there was a high chair, pack and play, and a gate in the owner’s suite. First trip to Cape Charles but won’t be the last.

Lovely house with everything you need for a laid back vacation. Very comfortable. Cape Charles is a beautiful, walkable town and this home is just around the corner from Central Park, which was the perfect place to walk the dogs. Easy walk or cart ride to both the beach and the main street. Dining around town was all excellent and we also recommend the short drive over to Kiptopeke State Park, since dogs are allowed any time on the beach there and on the trails.

The house was ideal for two couples and our two kids. It was just 2-3 blocks from the beach OR downtown, so we were able to walk if the kids were up for it, or drive when they weren't. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookware, trash bags/cleaning products, and even some spices. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean.
For those traveling with kids - we had one 4 year old and one toddler in our group. We kept the baby in our bedroom in the provided pack and play, but the bedroom that our 4 year old slept in could easily have slept two more kids. Not having to bring a PNP or high chair really made things easier for us in terms of packing, too.
To our hosts - thank you again for helping us out with a mechanic recommendation when we had a car issue crop up! We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back in the future.

We discovered that Cape Charles is one of the best little beach towns! The location of the house was perfect for our stay; located in walking distance to the beach, pier, shops, art galleries, and restaurants. And we enjoyed using the golf cart to get around also. The house is clean, furnished nicely, and equipped with everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The beds were comfortable and the linens were fresh. The fenced in backyard was convenient for the dogs. Communication with the owner was excellent. I have stayed at many VRBO homes and this one did not disappoint. I highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a girls, family, or romantic getaway!
