My husband and I returned for our 30th anniversary after we had honeymooned at the Palm Island Resorts. We had an absolutely amazing and relaxing stay. This is just what we both needed. We even had a manatee swim with us!! Thank you for providing a warm atmosphere where you can go to get away from all of the distractions of today. Several times we had the beach or the pool to ourselves. We didn't want it to end.

We've been coming to PI/DPI for 20 years beginning with the Resort. We had a couple of issues taken care in the unit after reporting them in about 48 hours. All staff members are very professional and helpful. The golf carts are another story! Bald tires on all three we were assigned;no rearview mirror, and tail lights not working. Very unsafe. We had a blow out on the 2nd cart. The third cart would not take a charge. Carts were being driven by under age kids without parents and overloaded. Even saw one cart with someone riding on the hood in front. Resort patrol never seemed to be around on roads just sitting in the shade watching who knows what? Rum Bay is awesome as always. Dustin has been waiting on us for over 7 years and is very accommodating, professional, pleasant and attentive. Merry at the front desk is pleasant and professional as were the others at desk. We will be back!!

The unit we stayed in, while needing updating, was clean and sufficient for our needs. The beaches are beautiful & the staff was friendly (mostly), but there were a couple of issues that will prevent us from returning. First of all, the restaurants (both on and off the island) were not good. The food was edible...that's it. In addition, the restaurants are old, dingy, dirty, & musty. We requested to sit outside b/c the smell made us feel ill. Since these are the only restaurants available (besides some local places w/o good reviews) I would suggest planning to cook all your own meals (not very fun on vacation, though). Also, when we were leaving, there were no golf carts available to get us as the person on duty the night before had forgotten to plug them in. Instead of using the golf carts available for rent, we either had to wait an hour or walk quite a ways w/all our bags in the heat. Not the best management. It all seems like management issues to me. We will go somewhere else next time.

The resort was just lovely. The beach was gorgeous!! We saw dolphins and everything! The restaurant was delicious. What a relaxing lovely time we had. I would definitely return. Our apartment was adorable and very comfortable. The staff was as nice as could be also and zipping around in the golf carts was a blast! Thanks for a wonderful time!!!!

We stayed at Palm Island Resort in winter 2014 and booked for 2015 as soon as we got back for 2 weeks. I will be booking for 2016 now we are back in INdiana. The unit we stayed in our second week was a little worn/outdated but clean. Our first week condo was nice. We stayed in Beach Villas both times. I recommend it regardless of the condition of the Villas!

We first visited Palm Island Resort several years ago for a friend's wedding, and decided it would be the perfect spot for our own anniversary weekend. The one bedroom we rented was on the top floor, and the gulf views from the screened-in balcony were amazing! We found some beautiful shells and dozens of shark's teeth on our walks along Shark's Tooth Beach. Our meals at Rum Bay were excellent, and we took the water taxi across to Leverock's one evening and met up with old friends staying at the marina. My husband really loves tooling around the resort in a golf cart. We definitely recommend Palm Island if you need a relaxing place to spend a long weekend! Any longer, and you would just run out of things to do.

This was just a one night getaway for my husband and me, as we left the kids at home this time. As always, we had a great time. We stayed in a one bedroom villa for the first time, which was okay. The villla was clean and had a great view of the Gulf. I wish the bedroom had a Gulf view also but it didn't. The villa was clean but I was taken back a bit by the little roach "motels" in the kitchen as I have never seen them in any other villa I've stayed in over the years; however, never saw a bug in the villa of any kind :-). We ate at Rum Bay restaurant, which never disappoints; we love this place. Their food is good and their signature drink - the Rum Bay Smash - is so delicious; I highly recommend giving it a try. I love Palm Island and cannot wait for our next visit.

We had never heard of this place but came here for the wedding of a dear old friend. From the time that we boarded the ferry, thru check-in we felt very welcomed. Our Villa was very clean, fully stocked with all the amenities of home and decorated in a cute beachy theme. The view was spectacular and the restaurant was a stone throws away from the Villa. GREAT Food!!! I strongly urge you to rent a Golf Cart so you can explore the entire Island! Absolutely Heaven. The entire staff was very nice and more than accommodating. The only thing I can think of that was negative was that the Caulking between the bathroom tub and wall tile needed to be scraped off and replaced. Most of it had come away from the wall which could cause leaking in the unit below if not repaired eventually. Not what we are used to but a minor cosmetic issue. We will be back!

We've always avoided anything with Resort in the name, thinking it would resemble a cruise ship with crowds. We happened upon Palm Island Resort while looking for a room for 1 night near Fort Myers. They had a vacancy, we took it, and liked it so much we extended our stay one night, then switched to a 2 bedroom villa when our daughter and son-in-law arrived. We all enjoyed the quiet, the biking and walking, the activities we chose to participate in (beach yoga and aquacize in the pool),shelling, and the delicious food at the reasonably priced restaurant on site. We left for a week to meet the rest of our family at a rented house on Anna Maria, then returned by ourselves for 2 more nights. Plan to come back next February! Still afraid of Resorts- I can't imagine they'll all be as nice as Palm Island Resort!!

Island and setting is beautiful! Our stay was very marred by rampant and relentless swarms of mosquitoes that seemed to be stemming from standing water around and under the buildings. Please consider having the area spayed and address the water buildup.
Our unit view was great. That said, with the price charged, it was very dated and the living and dining room furniture is stained. Dishwasher functional but racks do not pull out easily. Kitchen was well stocked and very clean though.
Bathroom shower doors are not easily functional and there were no hand towels, only bath and wash clothes.
Bedroom was good with exception f not having extra blankets.

The unit is listed as a 'deluxe' level of quality, which, I believe is the middle tier ranking. Our experience works out the unit at the bottom level due to dirty/worn upholstery and carpet, but the real issue is with the strong smell of mold in the unit. I'm quite sensitive to environmental mold due to allergies and asthma, so this was a real problem for us. Fortunately, the resort staff (Pam) was very helpful and got us moved to a superior unit in much better shape.

ELECTROCUTION hazard in bathroom with exposed lightbulb in shower, knobs missing on nightstands & dresser, weather stripping coming off front doorway, decorations old & rusted, carpet dirty, no coffee filters, bathroom sink faucet had to be repaired very hard to operate, coffee pot stopped brewing in mid-cycle, villa needs to be repainted

The rental rental unit was clean and provided an excellent view. The island was beautiful and very relaxing. The office staff were friendly and helpful. The drivers who took us to and from out unit and assisted with luggage were very helpful. The restaurant was not good. Wait staff were not competent and one actually argued with a member of our party after twice getting the order wrong. Service was slow. Food was not top quality.
The unit itself was not in the best condition. The furnishings were obviously old. There were missing knobs on night stand drawers in the bedroom. Paint was peeling off the bedroom door as was the finish on the bottom of the bath tub. There were only two ice trays and no automatic ice maker in 'fridge

A great place to go, so tranquil so serene. staff is very friendly and accommodating. it's a great place to go and I just unplug. When on the beach all you can hear is the waves and the wind sometimes you didn't see anybody for an hour. Although you could not see the sunset from this villa the location was actually very close to restaurant and a short walk to the beach even shorter walk to the pool and barbecue grills. The villa was comfortable although it could stand a few minor repairs and refurbishing

We had a wonderful time. Palm Island is less than an hour away from our home in Venice, but we literally felt like we were in another world!! I took an hour long walk on the beach and saw only two people! The wait staff was friendly and efficient and food the food at Rum Bay was outstanding. The menu is extensive; we ate lunch and dinner there every day and did not run out of things to try. The condo was lovely; it was beautifully decorated and neat as a pin; the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We discovered Island Community Church and worshipped there on Sunday. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!!

We were surprised and impressed with the tranquility of the resort, the organization, customer service and the efforts of the entire staff to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Rum Bay restaurant did not only add to the ambiance of the area, but the food, hospitality and service were excellence. We are already planning our next escape to this pristine and relaxing island experience.
