So I may not have understood that I was booking a house on an island when I first did it, but I wouldn’t change it for anything! It’s a $55 round-trip ride to get over to the house, but it’s worth every penny!! We landed in Sarasota Bradenton, stopped and got groceries on the way to the house, took the ferry over and didn’t leave for days. The beach is completely private, because it’s on an island. The house is absolutely gorgeous and fit our family of six with room to spare. The teenagers loved all of the space and being able to walk to the pool and the beach, the little kids loved how warm the pool was and searching for shells. We were one of just a few families on the beach and it was so relaxing and peaceful. The house has everything you would need from all of the dishes to a washer and dryer to beach towels to beach toys and extra bedding. There wasn’t anything that we lacked while we were there , every little detail is covered and it’s just perfect! Would recommend this to couples or larger families. The lower level was also a great time as the kids walked out on the dock while my husband grilled, and we laid in the hammock. The host was immediately responsive and so incredibly kind. I would recommend a golf cart rental as that added a ton of extra fun together. We will be back!!

We had a great time! The accommodations were perfect for my family of 5, and the host was outstanding. She catered to every possible need. Her communication was really, really great. I admit I dropped a ball in communication early on, but she stayed with me. She was totally cool and understanding. Also, the house was exceptionally clean, and well-stocked with things to do.

We had the most relaxing vacation we have ever had and can't wait to return.

1st time staying at the island and we will be back. As a vacation rental homeowner myself I can highly recommend Diane and this property. The house is great, set up for just what you will need. Diane is a thorough and interactive host. Being able to bring our dog was a win win for the family for our vacation. Weather didn’t cooperate for boating but the quiet beach and island time was just what we all needed. Loved the ferry - it kinda adds to the disconnect and forces you to relax. Hearing the waves from the front porch with coffee will be what I miss tomorrow morning now that I am back at home.

As a family of 6 we had plenty of room and loved our stay. Diane(owner) is super responsive, has thought out all the details for you, the property is as described and well kept and had all the newer and creature comforts of home. We had tons of fun on the kayak, paddle boards, lounging in the hammock, and shark tooth hunting on the beach. All the little things(too many to list) made this one of our best VRBO stays. Tip; Rent the golf cart. At first we didn't think we would use it as much, but it was awesome to have.

This was the ideal house in which to host our Thanksgiving dinner for 12! We had two houses for sleeping but our Thanksgiving gathering was held in this house. Not many rentals this size could have provided the comfortable seating that this one does. It was awesome for dining and conversation and watching a game together. The oven was immaculate and served us well for re-heating the foods we prepared at home. We really appreciated that. The large counter made a lovely buffet space. All appliances were high end and like new. There was comfortable seating and living space for everyone- both indoors and out. All seating everywhere was very good quality. We all enjoyed the porch swing and hammock with views of the canal too! Our family enjoyed kayaking out back in the canal with the kayaks provided and out front they enjoyed walks along the beach. It was a little too chilly to consider swimming. But the outdoor shower and foot wash would certainly serve guests very well on summer days. We noticed there were fishing poles, beach toys, life jackets and more! We would suggest bringing your own beach towels so you don’t have to worry about losing the ones provided or washing them before you depart. All in all- we had a wonderful time in this sweet duplex. It is a perfect house for a single family to spend a vacation!

The island is a wonderful slice of heaven. We've been a few times over the past 20+ years. This was our first time renting a house on the lagoon. It was a nice location. The water toys and an onsite golf cart available (to rent) at the house were an attractive feature. Plenty of beach chairs and toys (if you have kids) There were a couple of oversites by the cleaning service that were addressed with the owner and resolved. Nice appliances. Having an ice maker was great. The kitchen is setup enough of things for making meals. Just remember you need to bring EVERYTHING ELSE, foodwise, right down to the spices. The sound proofing between the two bedrooms we used (1 up, 1 down) was bad. You can hear everything. Bring earplugs. Have fun treasure hunting for the perfect shells and sharks teeth, as well as gopher tortoises around the island!!

Could not more highly recommend this home. From making reservation to check out, everything went so smoothly. The home was beautiful and well furnished. Room d for everyone to spread out. The setting on the lagoon was perfect to watch the sunrises. Diane was so responsive to emails and texts. Thank you for a wonderful, much needed return to my favorite escape island.

We had a great time using the kayaks, golf cart and completely deserted beach! The owner was one of the most available and responsive we’ve ever dealt with. The condo was well furnished and outfitted with all the beach stuff you could possibly want (toys, chairs, cooler, etc). Other necessary items (TP & soap) were also provided. PLEASE bring in ANYTHING else you might want for cooking along with plenty of bug spray as the owner is very clear that only essentials are provided (bring oil if needed for recipes, extra TP if you tend to use a lot, body wash, shampoo, etc…). We got absolutely eaten by bugs and were grateful for bug spray. The location and variety of fun activities at the doorstep were wonderful!

This is our second stay on Don Pedro Island. We love the quiet beach. Our place was a short walk to the beach and when we were not at the beach we still could enjoy a great view. Communication was amazing. Would stay again!!!

The owner was very prompt in answering any questions and very helpful. The Island is are favorite vacation spot. The location of unit is a close walk to beach. Partial beach view from front porch, spent a lot of time there after I fractured my ankle and could no longer go up and down stairs. Overall great place, would recommend.

Diane has a beautiful home that was easy to get to and very clean. She had all the necessary kitchen items and towels, with plenty of beach paraphernalia. Diane was quick to respond with questions and promptly addressed any issues. Her check in instructions and lock boxes made for an easy check-in and check-out. I will definitely miss my early morning coffee view off the dock. Absolutely, gorgeous!! I have had family reunions on Palm Island and will definitely come back and stay at any of Diane's properties!! Thank you!

Brought my wife and kids and wanted some peaceful time away on a beach with some seclusion. Got exactly that. A wonderful small island community. Wildlife, beauty, peace all wrapped into one.

We picked the house because of the closeness to the beach as well as a private dock with kayaks and paddle boards. We had a few minor issues come up but Diane was very easy to reach and she quickly resolved any issue we had. We will absolutely be staying at one of her properties in the future!

The owner meets all your needs. Communication is wonderful. The screened patio is great to have morning coffee and the hammock is where you will relax in the evening after a day at the Gulf. Looking forward to staying again.

While have stayed on Don Pedro Island for several years this is our first year staying with Diane. Island Time has everything you could ever need and more, our family never went without. The home was clean and perfectly located, the kitchen had everything you needed and more and the “extras”, such as the beach chairs, towels and kayaks, were all well taken care. We already are looking forward to our return!

Everything about the house and location was literally perfect. Diane is a fabulous host. One item of note - this was our third year on Palm Island and the Rum Bay restaurant is in rapid decline. Not only is it run down, but the food is terrible. I will eat almost anything and I will never eat there again. So you need to plan on cooking your own food everyday or buying the weekly ferry pass to go onto the mainland for eating out. .

Property was great and represented very well in the listing. Island life was very quiet and low key. It made for a great stay.

Wonderful days

We absolutely loved our time on the Island. Such a peaceful getaway. House was perfect! We enjoyed the kayaking and paddle boarding. We saw a baby turtle one morning which was cool. Would love to come back and stay again. Diane was great with communication.

A wonderful time with family! We have been to the island a number of times and always stayed ocean side. This rental gave us an unexpected bonus to have both the ocean a short walk and the lagoon steps away. The grandkids (now adults) found the kayaks and paddle boards the best activity. To have everything on site and not have to worry about finding rentals was so convenient. The property was just as described, and the owner provided great communication from checking in to checking out. Explore the island in the golf cart, walk the beach, or just relax and enjoy the island life!

Our stay on Palm Island was an absolute blast. Island Time was the perfect size for our group (3 kids, 3 adults), giving everyone plenty of space and hangout areas. The views from the balcony and swing were wonderful. The walk to the beach is just a couple of minutes, and the golf cart made getting around the island a breeze. We absolutely loved everything about staying here and being on the island!

We’ve been to the island several times and stayed in multiple properties. I can say hands-down this was our most favorite of them all! The host was the nicest and most thorough host of ever dealt with! We never had to ask for anything because she was so good about mapping out every detail that we needed to know to make it an awesome trip! The location is perfect especially if you have a boat that you can park in the backyard. The golf is only a short walk across the street and so is the tennis courts and swimming pool. We took advantage of all the amenities and can’t wait to return to paradise again soon!!

Comfortable place near the beach with open communication with property manager. Mosquitoes made the downstairs unusable and it’s not a good property for toddlers.

This was a great place clean and simple. The owner was a pleasure to deal with. The beach is close, kayaking in the lagoon was great, riding around the island in the golf cart was lots of fun!

We had a wonderful time. The house and property had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
