The location of this property is absolutely stunning!!!! The sounds of the coqui’s in the evenings throughout the night.. it’s a true rainforest experience. We were a little taken back by the conditions of the house. It could be cleaned out and polished up a bit even if it is difficult to update or remodel at the time. It’s not a home I would bring the whole family if you plan on staying indoors much but there is so much to experience in Puerto Rico that you probably wouldn’t be. It’s a comfortable place to sleep. There is cold a/c in the rooms and we didn’t have problems with anything while we were there. The pool is perfect! We did enjoy spending time at the pool enjoying the nature and landscaping. The hosts are great!! They were very accommodating, friendly and hospitable.

Location and property itself is superb. Very peaceful and private. Some of the home could use some updating but overall enjoyed our stay.

Great place for our family to use as a home base while we explored the east end of the island! Our boys loved the pool and yard, and the house was 10-40 minutes from everything we wanted to do - beach, snorkeling tour, El Yunque, great restaurants, old San Juan, etc! Great communication and easy check in/out. Rainforest noises did take a bit to get used to at night, kinda like indoor camping. Great spot if you want to stay out of the tourist traps and resort areas and get a bit closer to the “real” Puerto Rico.

We had an amazing time at this location. It was, just as described, a wonderful escape into the exterior bits of the rainforest. We felt like we got to hear and see more things staying here than when we visited El Yunque. The sounds at night were awesome. The house was open and refreshing. If you're a fan of rural living and enjoy being away from the crowds, this is the place for you. We didn't want to leave, that is for sure.

Just at the edge of El Verde/Yunque area. Excellent host communication. Good green areas and a clean pool. The inside of the house provides an open kitchen/dining/family. Good balcony for sunny days. Covered terrace and BBQ area for outside cooking.

Home was perfect for the 4 of us. Home had everything we needed. (We didn’t cook or use the TV) Property is tucked away on edge of El Yunque Pool is refreshing Owners provided information we needed.

The property was in the midst beautiful setting I've ever seen. The pool was amazing! Falling asleep to the sounds of the rainforest has me wondering how I will sleep back at home. Food. So much around from the kiosks to restaurants. Never had a bad meal close by. The owners are amazing very attentive and even bought beach chairs to use. The view from the house to the pool was amazing and we always looked forward to jumping in the pool after a long day at luquillo or playing golf at Rio Mar. Thank you all for the wonderful stay.

What a nice, very secure place to relax and listen to the sounds of nature. Amazing pool and plants and flowers and no mosquitos. Not one but two security gates, never saw another car while we were there.

The house is comfortable and exceptionally well-equipped. The kitchen is made for cooking with high quality pots and pans, knives, and so on. There are loads of spices, condiments, and even some olive oil for cooking. Another nice touch: beach chairs and towels waiting for you to use. We found good restaurants not far away (check out Brisas de Mar), but also cooked for ourselves and enjoyed meals at the outdoor table. A couple of questions came up and the owner responded immediately.

The location of this property is 10/10. WOW! We booked our stay at the house for 8 nights....Located just at the edge of El Yunque rainforest, the nature surrounding the home is absoultly magiacal. Falling asleep to the singing tree frogs at night was so peaceful. The pool area is picture perfect and a great place to hang out in the late afternoon with drinks. Check in was easy and hosts were communicative. HOWEVER, the home in the current condition as it is leaves much to be desired. It rained for several days, as it does in the rainforest, and there were some major issues with flooding inside the home. We had to end our stay a few days early because it was so damp and humid inside from all the water coming in that it was no longer comfortable to stay there. Hosts were very understanding and refunded us for the last two nights and we thank them for that. Hopefully the hosts will make the necessary repairs to the home before the next guests come to stay. If I were considering this rental i would ask the host before booking to avoid this happening as it is very likely that it will rain in the rainforest.

This property was so beautiful. It felt like our own private jungle oasis. The owner was so lovely and attentive. From the private swimming pool, to the comfortable bedrooms, to the patio and balcony. It felt like an old school puertorican hacienda which I absolutely loved!! Perfect getaway for families who really wish to get the full island experience. The beach wasn't too far either and there is a shopping center near by for all of your needs. Will definitely be coming back soon!!

The pool is a getaway from the world and the perfect spot for a refreshing dip in the morning or in the muggy afternoons. The bedrooms are nice and cool and fans throughout the living space make the temps comfortable inside the house. Thoughtful details including fresh flowers in vases, pool towels, two coffee makers and extra toiletries made for a delightful stay. We woke up every morning feeling blessed to be in paradise. And so much better than a crowded resort! Great Location!! You are about 20 minutes from Playa Fortuna (our fave) and Luquillo beaches (great food at the kioskos in Luquillo just along the highway) and an easy 45 from snorkeling trips and kayaking in Fajardo. If you book, try the FamCoop grocery nearby. We didn't have much success at Ralph's but you'll find everything you need at the FamCoop including a birthday cake for our teenager. Relatively small but great distribution of spaces. Spacious and comfortable. Excellent outside terrace and pool area. BBQ area in the pool and on the outside terrace.

La piscina privada era perfecta en las circunstancias covid. Hablar de distanciamiento social, si la tierra es prácticamente todo tuyo... increíble. Antonio fue asombroso. Su servicio al cliente, respuestas rápidas y flexibilidad con los horarios de entrada y salida fue excelente. En esta hermosa casa teníamos todo y no necesitábamos más. La casa está totalmente equipada con todas las necesidades. Hicimos una compra antes de la llegada y pasamos el resto del tiempo en la piscina, bbq, cantando, riendo y tomando hermosas fotografías, ya que el paisaje es para morirse. La naturaleza, los sonidos, la paz y las vistas eran absolutamente hermosas. Lo pasamos de maravilla y definitivamente volveremos! Gracias por tu hospitalidad Antonio. Antonio's place was amazing! Talk about social distancing, the land is practically all yours ... incredible. Antonio was amazing. Their customer service, quick responses, and flexibility with check-in and check-out times was excellent. In this beautiful spacious home we had everything we needed. The house is fully equipped with all necessities. We did a supermarket run prior to arrival and spent the rest of the time in the pool, barbecuing, singing, laughing and taking beautiful pictures, as the scenery is to die for. The nature, the sounds, the peace and the sights was absolutely beautiful!!! We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thanks for your hospitality Antonio.

We stayed in Villa Illusion from December 30 to January 2 to celebrate New Year’s with a group of close friends. It was the perfect getaway! The house is situated in the El Verde sector in Río Grande, which borders the El Yunque National Rainforest and is conveniently only 45 minutes away from the San Juan metro area. The house is inside a secure gated community. There is a gate at the entrance of the community and another at the entrance of the property. This was a plus! We felt very safe and very secluded at the same time. And the best part is that all the properties within the gated community have over 5 acres so each house is very private and you basically have the feeling that you are alone in the rainforest without neighbors. The house is nestled within a cove made up of huge and beautiful trees. Really a treat for nature lovers who want to get away and rest and relax and enjoy the cooler temperatures of the mountains. The house is a rustic country house and it has everything you need! All ammenities, dinnerware, towels, pillows, quilts, air conditioners in all bedrooms, hot water, outside bbq, wifi and smart TV! Antonio and Connie, the property owners, were so nice to meet us at the property to show us around and give us personal recommendations as to where to go and what to do. After doing our groceries we never had to leave the house and really enjoyed our time relaxing and exploring the grounds in full contact with nature at Villa Illusion. We had fun! We will be back!!!
