As we were aware, this property is and older one. It was fine. If you are looking for the brand-new look, this is not for you. I think the property was great and shows the true life of the Outer Banks! The property showed age, just like us. This place was great and the memories were priceless! We will be back!

Overall this property was good value for the price paid. Pros were location, amazing views, good space, inside was clean, and the elevator and no threshold shower were lifesavers for my mobility challenged mom. Beds were pretty comfy as well - you never know what you will get in terms of a mattress in rentals but these were good. Cons: Outside of the house was a mess with toys, broken boogie boards and rusted deck chairs. I ended up trying to stack everything I could under the house neatly, but left the rusty deck chairs where they were in fear of needing a tetanus shot. Other cons were the house in general needs maintenance on a lot of small things. One burner in the kitchen was out, some wall outlets did not work, medicine cabinet in upstairs bathroom did not close properly, windows rusted shut, etc. All of these are small things and something to consider if these things will bother you. We enjoyed our stay overall and do not regret renting the property.

Location was wonderful!!!Definitely needs a facelift on decor.Cleaning left a lot to be desired. Spider eggs on side of the bedroom door frame, mold on the shower curtains, stove burners were black/burnt (every time we used the stove, it smelled like something was burning), feet were black within a few minutes of arrival and walking around upstairs. Some wood on the balcony steps was coming up too.Overall a good place and would stay again, but I highly suggest the cleaning be investigated or a new company take this part over.Also, worked out great for a family member who is in a wheelchair!!

Place is well stocked with kitchenware, had everything we needed,including sharp knives (which is a problem in some places). Bonus was a crib and two high chairs (one of the reasons we chose this place). Somewhat outdated, but it sad clean and there is lots of seating. Two decks are nice. Only thing missing was a walkway to the beach, so we ended up leaving most of our best out just before going down the dunes. Good fit for our 9 family members. Dog friendly.

We enjoyed our stay at the beach. The house was fine, nothing really stands out about it. It's a nice house on the beach with an elevator. I'm assuming that the people before us had a dog as dog hair was in the cushions of the couch and in the corners and on some of the bedding. The furniture was probably last updated in the late 90's early 2000's. Also, they seemed to be having an ant problem the week we were there, nothing to bad, just a few here and there. But we were there for the beach, not so much the house.

Nice place to stay
We enjoyed our stay at Flying Tiger Inn a lot as it was reasonably priced and fit all the needs of our family. However, a few suggestions for improvements to be made to optimize the stay for guests. Better beach access: no stairs or structure to maneuver to go to and from the beach. The stairs need some cleaning of weeds and possible poison ivy growing. Lastly, having a TV in every bedroom. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay! Thank you for the comfortable vacation.

When we got the key for the property, the agent told us the property was ready for us. However, when we arrived, there were workers building new stairs to the deck and we could not get into the property with a wheelchair. When our son called the management company to find out what was going on, the agent did not know there was work going on and wanted my son to ask who the people were. Poor management when property managers don't know what is going on with the property. We went to dinner and everyone was gone when we arrived, but there was some debris in the driveway and carport which we had to remove. Maybe we missed the instructions, but we did not know our sheets were stored in boxes in the carport. We did see dirty linens on the ground outside the boxes and realized that's where the clean sheets were stored after we went to put the kids to bed and didn't see sheets in any of the rooms. The accessible shower was great, but there were no grab bars by the toilet. The elevator worked well for us. The beach access was great for the kids and we enjoyed the view from the decks.(The pictures of the decks don't show how big they are, but there was plenty of room for our group of 9). The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped, although the dishwasher did not clean very well. It was a comfortable feeling house and was located near Jeannette's Pier, shopping, and in the middle of the outer banks so close to tourist attractions. We all had a very good week.Bathroom accessibility was a bit of an issue, but we would recommend this property to others.

Arrived with early check-in. House was just being cleaned. Housekeeping said they were not told of early arrival. Had a handicapped person. Had to wait 20 minutes. The house was filled with sand on the floors. had to recall the cleaning crew in to do the floors. Some of the linens were stained. I rewashed them to remove the stains. when I called realty place the first day. They came out and fixed everything. Ac Unit froze. Doing end of first week we called about the washer door being broken said they get some out. Never saw the person. I guess due to the Hurricane. We were very lucky during the hurricane. Electricity stayed on. Very minimal damage to home. Other than chairs outside that were already broken flew off the porch. I board on the side of the house was falling off. Which I reported. We did lose the sand in front of the house. We had a 4 foot drop. The house was nice. Need new dishes, not enough silverware. Which I called no one every brought us any. We bought some. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes properly. We reported all of this. Refrigerator also was putting out water inside. The second week we felt like we were on our own. Got one phone call asking if we were ok after hurricane. Lucky my son was able to figure a way for us to use the washer while the door was broke. Other wise we would of been in trouble with having a handicap person and two little children. Bathroom was not totally handicap. No bars in the bathroom to help get the person up at the commode. The property had everything we needed to accommodate the needs of 3 generations of our family. Having the elevator was a godsend. Overall the accommodations were very good. We had some problem adjusting the inside temperature to a comfortable level--there were hot spots and very cold spots. The outside doors on the ocean side were hard for the older guests to open (swollen from moisture maybe?). Other than this, everything was great. Couldn't ask for a more convenient location, and there was ample parking for our 4 vehicles. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved the location of the house but the house itself was disappointing. We did not feel the house was very clean. I don't feel the floors were swept very well before we got there because I was sweeping up black dog hair and our dog isn't black. Also, saw cockroaches on 2 different occasions, one being in a bedroom which resulted in my daughter sleeping on the couch all week. I don't like giving bad reviews but I felt those things needed to be voiced.

Good views; close to the beach; way too many stairs! Elevator was inoperable when we arrived, and after the elevator repair person explained it's nuances, we decided not to use it. The cable TV was also not working and after the cable guy explained that one of the power adapters came loose on one of the e TV's it caused the whole system not to work! Lastly, the hot tub did not work properly; minimal working here and no lights. I looked up the control panel instructions but no jet levels but basic level worked.

Great view but interior needs update
The evenings were filled by sitting on the decks or hot tub watching the night fall and enjoy the sound of the crashing waves. Mornings we were awoken by the sun breaking on the horizon and filling the house with light.
Our family enjoyed our vacation and this properties location and the elevator were just what we needed. We traveled with a family member that requires a wheel chair and the elevator provided easy access to all levels of the house. The elevator provides enough room for an adult wheelchair and a skinny attendant...
It has been some time since this unit has recieved a refresh and would definately benefit from some updating.
We had a couple of minor issues and the management company responded very quickly.
We would book this location for a family gathering again, especially if the unit is updated.

The main reason we rented this house was because of the elevator. One guest is in a wheelchair, unable to walk, even with help. The entrance into the elevator from the main floor requires lifting the front of the wheelchair to get in. The same for the first floor deck. We rented a beach wheelchair but the wooden path to the ocean was so ragged, it was easier to push it up the hill in the sand. There is no path from the carport to the back of the house. The path is overgrown. The deck outside the main bedroom was missing a few spindles in the railing with gaps large enough for the two five-year-olds with us to easily slip through. We had to cover them. The hot tub didn't work when we arrived and after putting in the request for it to be fixed the day we arrived, it wasn't fixed until Thursday. There was a lot of sand on the floors when we arrived. One bathroom on the lower floor had sand on the countertop. When moving the bed over about 12 inches, dust and balled-up paper was under there, as well as more sand. After seeing the "extra" cleaning being done because of Covid on a video before our visit, I wasn't concerned until we got there. We wiped everything down with Clorox. Turns out, everything was dirty, including the kitchen counter around the sink. The house was considerably cleaner when we left than when we arrived. Lamps didn't work in two bedrooms. Overall, very dissatisfied.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay tremendously, although there were a few issues with the property: no room in kitchen cabinets for our food (full of dishes, pots/pans, etc.), so we had to use the counter space to store most of our non-perishable food; the large collection of pots and pans were mostly gummy from previous use - please clean and/or discard; coffee maker was not clean; we noticed a definite musty/moldy smell on carpeted stairway. All of these issues aside, we LOVED the location!

The upstairs bedroom off from the kitchen is really not a bedroom. It is more of a sitting room and you can hear a lot of noise from the kitchen area.
There was trash and debris around the outside of the house. One of the bathrooms downstairs had not been cleaned.

Cottage was not clean. Microwave had food splatters. Sand on floor and some dirty spots in kitchen on floor. Sand on comforter that must have sifted through to sheets. Boardwalk was rotten and dangerous. Where hot tub is was missing a couple spindles on deck railing.

The house is in a great location on the beach but the overall condition of the house is horrible. It was dirty, rusty handles almost falling off the home, slats of the deck were missing, the nails on the decks were coming out, pieces of the decking floor were very loose. Roof leaking when it rained. Inside ceiling had paint falling off it. After running the dishwasher there was sand all over the clean dishes. The showers did not properly drain. When maintenance did come for the roof he was very rude and not professional. Alot of the outlets did not work. Overall this house needs a huge update because there are alot of safety issues.
