Absolutely brilliant house in Asnelles. Directly on Gold Beach - so perfect for exploring the D-Day landing museums and memorials but also perfect for just having fun on the beach. House was clean and extremely well stocked with all the necessary items - from dishwasher tabs to washing powder. Would highly recommend!

The house, location, and views are amazing. We highly recommend this home!

Our stay was fantastic. The owner was very responsive, delightful, and prompt in his responses. The house was immaculate, great beds, a very well equipped kitchen & you just can not beat the location right on Gold Beach. The back deck was the perfect spot to end the day after exploring the historical sites in Normandy. We are a group of very tall Americans - with that in mind, be aware that there are a couple areas in the house when you may need to duck to avoid whacking your head. We absolutely give the location and the owner 5 stars.

What an amazing home. Very quirky & situated perfectly for our purposes. Home very well appointed. Would most certainly rent again.

Our stay in this home was perfect. The location made seeing the sites easy. The living space was comfortable , the beds comfy and the outside space is so interesting to view the beaches. The changing tide was amazing.
My only suggestion would be to perhaps upgrade the outdoor table and chairs.

It was amazing! Thank you so much!

Beautiful location!
We all loved staying at Rima’s beachside property. It was the perfect addition to a multi generational Normandy landing beaches stay.
We liked grilling b out, eating on the terrace and taking advantage of many excellent guided tours of the DDay sights. Rima has the most comfortable beds and the linens were the finest.
The only drawback was the dishwasher which is nearing expiration. Other than that, a perfect stay!

Great house on the beach
Great location, Gourmet kitchen.
A little quirky layout but it worked.
Worked well for 6 adults.

Great place
Lovely property right on the beach. Great for a family holiday . Had everything one could possibly need and being right on the beach was wonderful. Lots of interesting places to visit. Would highly recommend

A great house with a fantastic view! Everything was fine and we had much fun.

We spent two weeks in this wonderful house. The location could not have been more prefect. The sea and the long sandy beach was in front of us with unrestricted views. You could see everything from the wonderful terrace. The house was well designed. The bedrooms were far from each other; each with ensuite bathrooms except for the children's room. The kitchen was excellent. There was a secure place for the car inside the electrical gate. The views from the inside towards the sea and the beach were also excellent. Asnelles is a very small village, but there is everything you need: oyster farms, fishermen's fish shop, a small supermarket and a bakery in a walking distance.

Great location and beautiful views
We really enjoyed our stay. The place is right on the beach and there is a beautiful deck. The kitchen is well-stocked and there is an outdoor grill which was a plus. The beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of towels. The upper loft is an interesting layout with the bathroom and shower area; the skylights added to the room however and we really enjoyed the ocean breezes that swept through. Would definitely recommend!

Can’t get any closer to the beach
Owner was great to work with. Location was perfect for exploring D-day beaches and central to visiting the rest of the wonders of Normandy.

Even better than expected
Superb location as per the photos. Rima was very easy to communicate with. The place is a bit quirky, especially the upstairs. Tall people must be careful not to bump their head and the transition from the bedroom to the shower requires a bit of flexibility. The newly installed shower curtain worked well for us.
Be advised there is no sound proofing between the upstairs toilet and the rest of the house which can result in a few uncomforatble moments. Easily rectified by using blue tooth speakers when required.
The kithen has everything you culd possibly need to create the most outstanding of meals. There is also a bbq which uses real wood briquets.
We took advantge of the great deck every day, even when we had some rain showers. Sunsets are amazing!
We were there for 10 nights and the location made accessing everything we wanted to see very easy.
I would edefinitely stay there again.

Lovely spot
Great property. Fantastic location. Good proximity to historical places/attractions as it relates to DDay and Bayeux. Very hip architecture. Lovely deck. Big kitchen. Excellent welcome book. There were 5 of us who stayed. Shower upstairs opens to area below. Needed screen for privacy.

Perfect d day spot
From the excellent location to Rima’s help we really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful
The property is beautifully designed and outfitted with everything you need. It has a nice deck right on the beach.
Asnelles isn’t much. We spent all our evenings in Bayeux, which is a wonderful little town.

NORMANDY
The location of this home in the heart of Normandy is incredible - 20 minutes from Bayeux, and directly on the coast. Driving in the neighborhood to the house is a little worrisome - some very old and unkept homes surround it, but the house itself is nice. The accommodations are a little unusual - the upstairs bedroom has little privacy - the attached bathroom is open to downstairs and the shower itself has no curtain to shield it from the kitchen/living/dining area. There are three bedrooms downstairs - the one on the front right has a shower and sink in the bedroom, with a half bath with toilet just outside. One passes through the bunk room to get to the additional bedroom with king size bed. This room has a toilet about 12 inches from the bed, a sink and a small shower. The beds are comfortable, and the view is INCREDIBLE. There is a back gate that takes you directly to the beach. The kitchen is well stocked, but you need to supply coffee, spices and anything else you need. Also need to bring bath wash, shampoo and conditioner.

Excellent location surrounded by History
We all enjoyed the location and history of the surrounding area. Rima made things easy for us and was great to work with.

Beautiful, as described, great location with charming vibe, well equipped.
In addition to a beautiful house, the owners were very accommodating, timely and a pleasure to deal with. Biking the surrounding villages was beautiful and the D-Day sites and Bayeux minutes away. Highly recommend this house to others.

Even in December it’s breathtaking
Our annual pre-Christmas trip to France was made all the more special by staying here. Even though it was December, the views and walks were amazing. Rims and her husband were so helpful. Sunday lunch at La Cale was scrumptious. And the fish market in Courseulles-sur-Mer resulted in the best scallops and mussels I’ve ever had. This home is gorgeous with all you could ask for. Look no further!

Excellent is every way!
We enjoyed our stay at Balcon sur Arromanches very much and would return without hesitation. The kitchen is very well equipped with all modern appliances, gadgets, dishes and flatware. Nearby you are surrounded with important historical landmarks, wonderful restaurants and a fabulous beach for long walks. A stones throw away are two oyster farmers with daily catches that included lobster. We were blessed with gorgeous weather which we enjoyed on the swank deck. The owner was extremely available and helpful, which made everything go smoothly.

Superb in every way.
Words can not express how incredible this Asnelles Beach Home really is. From the moment we walked in it was beyond all our expectations. We spent wonderful family time here walking the beach, eating the local oysters, and watching the most divine sunsets imaginable.
Rima personally came by to check on us after we arrived and made suggestions to eat at La Cale-highly recommend the sweetbreads-best I’ve had! There was so much room to spread out due to the exquisite and modern layout. My mother took the king pink bedroom, my son the other king bedroom downstairs and my husband and I had the upstairs bedroom with a magnificent view of the beach/ocean. My mother loved the view of the pretty rear garden courtyard. There was another bedroom with awesome bunk beds that could have slept 4 more people easily.
Days were spent lounging on the deck reading and watching the tides roll in or out. We cooked in most evenings-the kitchen is stocked. My husband is a chef and needed nothing because the Home was so well provisioned. We visited 2 food stores LeClerc and Carrefour-both in Bayeux, 25 min away.
We did visit the D day sights but honestly we never wanted to leave this home. In fact 1 week was certainly not long enough. We spent over 2 weeks in France traveling and this Home was the highlight of our trip. Truly history right out your backdoor. You see the artificial mulberry harbors and we walked out to them daily. We also walked out to the oyster farm a few times. The water was perfect-not too hot or cold and very calm for swimming.
There are many activities that are right down the beach -kayaking, water aerobics, horseback riding and beach sailing. A cute carousel and lovely creperie/ice cream vendor is just down the beach. We visited nightly.
The greatest thing is that the sun doesn’t set until 10 pm in the summer so the days are so long and you feel as though you can do so much.
Would I come back? In a heartbeat and I would come every year if we did not live in the USA. This will definitely go down as one of the best places we have been in our lives.
Thank you Rima and François for sharing such a gem with us.
Recommend taking Bayeux Shuttle for DDay tours. Mike was our tour guide and went above and beyond. We learned so much.

Fantastic
The house is amazing. We had a grate time on the waterfront.

Great waterfront location
Family of six spent three days at Asnelles location during July 2018. Everyone enjoyed the beach setting and the home was quite nice. The owners were very accommodating allowing to remain at the property until 4 pm on the day of our departure. One of my granddughters indicated we should have spent 10 days at this location rather than 3! Highly recommend the property for those interested in a beach setting in the Normandy region.

Wonderful location!
Saw all of Normandy from this beachside base. We were 3 couples and had plenty of space. Baths were a bit exposed but perfectly serviceable with nice towels. Kitchen was well equipped and all very clean. We would definitely stay here again!

GREAT LOCATION WITH BEAUTIFUL VIEWS
THIS PLACE EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS IN EVERY WAY. THE LOCATION WAS PERFECT FOR ALL OF OUR VISITS TO THE D DAY BEACHES AND MUSEUMS. WE EASILY BECAME FAMILIAR WITH OUR SURROUDINGS. THE BEACH HOUSE IS ON THE WATER WITH ACCESS TO THE BEACH FOR LONG WALKS AND A VISIT TO THE OYSTER FARM , PLUS WE BOUGHT SOME AND COOKED THEM WITH BUTTER, GARLIC AND SHALLOTTS. THE HOUSE IS WELL ORGANIZED AND WE LOVED THE KITCHEN AND USED IT EVERY NIGHT FOR OUR EVENING MEALS. ITS SO NICE TO MIX A DRINK, OR HAVE SOME WINE OR CHAMPAGNE WHILE WATCHING THE WAVES. WE COULD HAVE STAYED MUCH LONGER BUT HAD MADE ARRANGEMENTS IN DIJON FOR A VISIT. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND RIMA WAS VERY HELPFUL AND ACCOMMODATING.

Lovely property, perfect location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Asnelles. The home is beautiful, well maintained and well equipped. The location was perfect. A car is highly recommended in order to explore the beaches of the D-Day invasion and Bayeux. Although it was cold and stormy, we were continuously drawn to the outside deck to watch the sea and the sky. Spectacular to observe! The owners are wonderfully gracious and patient (we arrived 4 hours late! Again, so sorry). Our only regret is that we did not have enough time here. Thank you, Rima for making this available to us. We would love to return.

Great time by the ocean
The home was bright and clean. Great location to explore from. We also enjoyed walking to the oyster farm and taking runs on the beach.

Fantastic house, beautiful location. Perfect!
I highly recommend this home. Perfect for families, great location, close to all the d day monuments and a great beach. Rima is an excellent host. We looked at a lot of places in the area and we thought this one was too good to be true, but it is everything the pictures make it out to be.
