Neighbor on the right looks at you through their wondow. Made for a very uncomfortable stay. Houses are very close with little privacy. Check in process is outdated. Recommend shifting to Docusign for rental agreement and other documents that require signature. Recommend shifting to smart locks on the cabin doors to facilitate an easier check in/out process. Had an unprofessional experience with the rental company. Pictures of house are outdated.

Great time. Highlights were relaxing on the patio with a spectacular view, mellowing out in the jacuzzi while admiring nature and cozying with the family playing games. We enjoyed the visiting the town of Idyllwild and a hike at the nature center. Thank you for sharing a great place.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin in Idyllwild. Here are some pros and cons. Pros: Amazing deck with views, nice and clean hot tub that works, flat driveway (driving in the snow was tough), comfortable space for two people, wood burning fireplace, 8 minute drive from the town, clean cabin. Cons: Beds were uncomfortable/ hard, the couches were uncomfortable and dated, minimal overhead lights so it got a bit dark, the check in process was annoying (had to sign papers ahead and scan them and email them sensitive info and physically pick up / drop off the key in town). But overall we got past those things and still had a nice stay at this place.

The cabin was really cute, cozy and the view was gorgeous. The hot tub on the patio was such an added bonus. There were plenty of towels and blankets, which was really nice.
The biggest downside was that the beds were not the most comfortable and the stairs were a little worrisome. The steps were very narrow, so you really had to hold the rail and watch your step.

My family and I stayed for 3 nights and absolutely fell in love with property. The view was so amazing. Will definitely rent this place again. The town of idyllwild is so great and very friendly. Highly recommend this property.

Beware of False Advertisement/ Bait & Switch
Im compelled to leave my honest/thorough review as I do not want any other guests seeking cleanliness, desperate for relaxation & comfort to waste time and hard-earned money on this subpar property.
We paid holiday rates for Valentines wknd also.
Upon arrival our hearts sunk-we noticed immediately photos New Spirit Vacation Homes published were NOTHING like we walked into.
Lamps w burnt out bulbs,couches stained/collapsed, reclining footrest busted, area rug stained.
Property advertised as having a fully equipped kitchen,grill w BBQ tools provided and internet service. ALL FALSE
The 2 wine glasses provided were in fact not wine glasses and were even cracked! We had just bought wine from the local winery/art gallery and wanted to sit outside on the deck to enjoy.
We prepared for our 4 day/3 night stay and brought lots of groceries as we were celebrating the wknd and hoping to relax after a recent unfortunate family emergency so we remained positive & hopeful!
We contacted the 2 numbers provided and were given diff responses by 2 diff people over our concerns.
Instead of being met with compassion we were given more false info and argued with,ultimately told someone would come the next am to fix things and bring items not provided.UGH!
Against our better judgment we said OK and stayed.
Mistake! Would you consider pile of blankets stuffed into a duvet a mattress?? We were bit by spiders and found webs over the bed. We left first thing in the am! I did make owners aware again.

Know what you’re getting
The most important thing to know about this cabin is that if you’re looking for an open and spacious floor plan, this is definitely not that. The living room and kitchen are completely separate and both on the small side. There is no dining room and the only place to sit and eat is at the small kitchen table. The living room does have a nice wood burning fireplace but the two sofas are worn out and very saggy in places. The TV (only one in the cabin) is small and internet only. They should also have cable as an option for more ease of use. The master bedroom is decent size but desperately needs the bed to be updated. It’s very saggy and very uncomfortable. The master bathroom is also small and very confining. The other hall bathroom a little bigger. The two bedrooms upstairs are decent size. The one standout of this cabin is the exceptional mountain views and very large deck in the back. Just wish you could see the view more from the inside. It’s just pretty much when you’re sitting at the small kitchen table. Overall this cabin is just ok. Would not stay here again due to layout and worn out furniture.

Amazing view!
The view is so gorgeous and the deck is really beautiful! We spent a lot of time reading and relaxing on the deck, enjoying the fall weather--that was really perfect. A few minor things: The hot tub doesn't get super hot no matter how we turned the knob. It was still useable though. Also, not nearly enough lighting, the living room in particular is really dim in the evening so we ended up bringing in some table lamps from the bedrooms so we could see! Overall, a great place to relax and enjoy Idyllwild!

We were a group of six adults and 2 children. We were confirmed that it would sleep the 8 guests, in comfortable beds which did not. The bed in the bottom floor was not comfortable at all. The toaster oven in the kitchen stopped working I had to reach out to the office and placed a complain. The following morning a toaster was delivered. Netflix worked well on both Thursday & Friday night. On Saturday night, we encountered issues, where the picture will just freeze. We turned off and on for three times and it worked briefly. We gave up on the fourth time and went to sleep. On the day of our departure the dishwasher started to leak and placed a text to indicate the issue. When I dropped the key off the office , I informed about the issue again , she responded do not worry. We will take care of it.

Nice Experience with Small Issue
Overall the rental property was a good experience: the property was as advertised and had enough room for six of us to hang out. Communication with the property manager and anyone from New Spirit was very easy and everyone was nice. The only issue we had was that when we arrived the floor was somewhat dirty with what seemed like sand, and there were a good amount of ants present, but other than that it was a nice trip.

Lovely cabin with an expansive view deck, quiet location. Had what we needed for a pandemic getaway. Even as the decor and appointments were simple, the cabin had what we needed, and we enjoyed a restful getaway with hikes, biking, cooking, etc. Some may find the downstairs sofabed creaky, our boys didn't mind. Upstairs beds are fine, if a tad hard. Showers worked well, all was clean and in working order. And stargazing at night from the back deck was magnificent.

Great getaway
Great weekend getaway. Thankfully we experienced lots of snow. The master bedroom bed was a fold out. They should really replace it with an actual bed. The checkout process should be easier by allowing the tenant to leave the key in the house.

Awesome view, murky water, lumpy bed
The location and view from this property was awesome. A great patio for my son to play on. King bed pullout was lumpy and uncomfortable (at best). The stairs to upstairs were very steep and narrow. But my 3yo loved them, just needed supervision.
The spa was unusable and was one of the key things we were looking forward to. The water was dirty (murky).
Outdoor chairs were broken and unusable and dangerous as chair collapsed when you sat on it. We had to keep moving inside chairs out.
No broom available for everyday messes (cooking, eating).
One of the bedrooms seemed to have dirty sheets (smelled).
Laundry was sitting in dryer.
When we messaged about these issues to the given numbers, we were told to call the office. They should have relayed message to the office or at least provided that number in response, instead of making me go somewhere else to lookup said number.
The property management company asked for additional paperwork outside of vrbo process at reservation time, but then lost the paperwork and had to reask. Very cumbersome these days to print and sign paperwork. At checkout, would have been nice to get a confirmation/acknowledgement that checkout was completed.

All and all a nice experience. Only a couple things that could be easily fixed, lamp in bedroom, hot tub took overnight to get to temp and some new patio furniture. We lucked out and had great weather to enjoy the deck and the views.

Gorgeous views
The cabin is nice and cozy, the location is great and the best thing about it is the hot tub & the spacious deck which over looks an amazing view. The kitchen has everything you need (spices, kitchen utensils, pots, serving dishes etc...). The only things i was disappointed with was the size of the beds, the two beds upstairs were double/full size beds not queen. Also the bathrooms are both downstairs one is en-suite and the other is shared. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

Mostly good, some bad
The deck area of this property is awesome, with a beautiful view. There were a few issues, though. The stovetop burners didn't work, and neither did the TV. The stairs leading to the second floor were dangerously steep and narrow, so I wouldn't recommend staying here if you have any physical limitations. However, the deck almost made up for these negatives. And the cabin was extremely clean.
