Abbiamo chiamato la nostra casa Sanctuary By the Sea perché è davvero un paradiso per rilassarsi e ringiovanire. Allontanati dallo stress quotidiano e vivi la vita come dovrebbe essere.

The location and views are certainly the standouts for this property. While it was occasionally socked in with fog, most of the time we had at least partial visibility of Whitesboro Cove and the coast on the opposite side, but it was always a different view. I woke up one night at 3 am and it was completely clear with the lights from the Ledger House reflecting on the water below. The house seems to be perfectly preserved from the 70s, and is clean and well-appointed (except for lacking a broom) with modern appliances. Lots of room with 3 beds for my 2 kids to spread out. The hot tub with the ocean view was great, though the filter didn't seem to be working/running great. Lots of firewood and the big fireplace was easy to light and cozied up the house on colder nights. The location was great, five minutes from a small grocery that has all the basics and two nice restaurants, and a short drive to Mendocino that has everything. The really great part was that in either direction there are state parks everywhere with beach/tidepool access on the coast an often hiking trails in redwoods inland. I wish there was more access to the coast within the subdivision, but its all private so can't be helped (though vacant lots provided new views of the coast). Elk is 20~ mins south and has a great beach, cafes, and a cash only bar open on weekends that is something to experience. We had a great 4-night stay and wish we'd spent less time in SF and more here.

I spent one month here with family coming and going. It couldn’t have been a better experience. The view was phenomenal and so enjoyed all the wildlife around. I will definitely be back.

Clean, well stocked. Pictures accurate on the listing. Views of ocean take your breath away. Plenty of room for 3 couples. 10-15 minutes from town of Mendocino.

This is our second time using this property and we've loved it each time. The house is a perfect for a comfy, relaxing getaway. We had easy access to the sites in the area, but you don't have to leave to enjoy the area. The views are spectacular from the house!

Our stay was very nice. Everything in perfect order, but the best was the owners communication. First, he pre-called on a possible potential issue with the hot tub and was going to talk us through any issues (which by the way were already taken care of before our arrival!). Then we called him due to an issue with the TV (and the world series on LOL). he walked us through that and eventually got support help on the line. Exceptional detail on his part. Lovely stay

We literally stopped in our tracks and gasped at the view when we walked in the front door and saw the coastal view! My brother and I were there to celebrate our parents 75th birthdays with our spouses. It was a phenomenal adult get away. House had everything we could ask for and we’d love to go back

Most awesome VRBO ever!
The owner went above and beyond to make our vacation stay perfect. Home was immaculate and everything in working order. We saw foxes, deer, raccoon in our yard. And house located only yards away from cliff in back yard. We plan on returning soon. Thank you, Flint!

Plenty of room for 6 adults- loved the big windows on the back of the house especially when cooking and eating at the huge dining table. Enjoyed using the wood burning fire place. The code information for the front door is a bit confusing and definitely needs more bath & spa towels for large groups staying multiple days. we had an amazing time at your beautiful property and would definitely book again in the future. The beds and couches were extremely comfortable, the hot tub looked out over the water and stars, and if you walked a bit away from the house, you could see amazing sunsets. The owners were highly responsive and left a detailed binder of suggested restaurants and activities. Check in and check out were easy and seamless. Guest should be aware that cell coverage can be limited and the internet was not high speed enough for streaming (not that we wanted to given the lovely natural scenery and outdoor activities in the area).

We had a lovely long weekend at Sanctuary by the sea. It had plenty of space for our family of 5. We didn't hear any neighbors and had all the comforts of home and plus some. As well as the house being perfect, it was a perfect location with lovely beaches and hiking nearby. We were sad to leave but will stay at this place again.

This property has been well cared for and you can tell. The views are amazing and so is the hot tub. The bbq was in good working condition which made our dinner plans go smoothly. They even had the fireplace all ready to use which was awesome. It was a beautiful weekend with great friends and an amazing place.

Pacific Reef Sanctuary
Magnificent Pacific Reef Property offered the best of views of the Pacific and Northern Cal cliffs. Nicely Equipped and comfortable home on the gorgeous coast near Mendocino Restaurants and shops, Wine Country and Redwood forests. Much more as well and my fall retreat here was without want. Friendly neighbors, wild deer visits every evening and ocean waves. Nothing could be more tranquil and relaxing. Highly recommend this property!

Truly a Sanctuary
Sanctuary by the Sea is spacious clean house with gorgeous view of the ocean. It is in a quiet gated community. We enjoyed all the state parks nearby that offer beaches and great trails to walk among the redwoods. We took the host’s suggest and had a fabulous dinner at Ledford, which right across the cliff from the house. Activities are just minutes away with the Village of Mendocino 7 miles and Fort Bragg and the Skunk Train 15 miles. But the best part is sitting on the cliff looking at the vast ocean.
