This must be one of the best units in the entire complex! Comfortably furnished, nicely appointed, amazing view. Convenient location right near the Ocean Club, which is one of the nicest community pool/spa/fitness/bar amenities that we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Kathy was pleasant and responsive. Highly recommended.

This VRBO was the ultimite condo for us! She had everything we could ask for. Fully stocked in kitchen, bath, utility room, and beach toys. Beautiful view and quiet! She even had ice for the day cooler in the freezer. It was perfect for our family and we will be coming back!

Place was amazing. Clean, nice decor and the kitchen had all the amenities a person could ask for. Great view of the ocean and golf course. Right next to the Ocean Club which had great food and drinks and all the better to be able to enjoy them by the pool as well. This place will not disappoint. We can't wait to go back!

I can’t say enough good things about our recent stay. The condo is exactly as advertised. The view of the ocean and golf course is spectacular. We enjoyed many hours on the lanai watching the golfers, the ocean and spotting whales. The kitchen had almost everything one might need to prepare meals. The washer/dryer was used often as well. We are already planning on returning to this unit.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Hali’i Kai and the best yet. Just as described with beautiful views. Well appointed with the extras - shampoo, body was, paper towels, toilet paper, dish detergent etc….. We would definitely like to reserve this spot again. Mahalo

The condo is exactly like what is pictured but even better. The ocean views looking over the 6th hole can't be beat. The floor plan is great and the bedrooms are separated so everyone has some privacy. Just steps away from the pool. Our stay was just fantastic!!

This condo is in the best location for easy walking quick access to the pool and restaurant. The deck has incredible views To watch the sunset! It was quiet and peaceful to be able to stay at a condo that helped make our vacation memorable!

Could not have been happier staying here. I was here alone for this work trip but can't wait to bring my family for future trips. Kapalua Bay Villas Maui is our usual preference and this Condo provided the same level of quality at half the price.

This property is "as listed". Check in / out simple. Very well appointed kitchen, bathrooms well stocked. The pool, bar, gym and restaurant are a just across the parking lot. View from lanai is outstanding. The design of condo is fantastic, bedrooms on opposite ends of unit. Beds were very comfortable, entire complex was silent at night. We spent nearly every night on lanai watching sunset and enjoying breeze off Ocean. Had a 5 star vacation, would highly recommend.

The property was wonderful. The location close to Ocean Club with a gorgeous view of the ocean from the balcony could not have been better. The condo was beautifully decorated and the best outfitted vocational rental we have ever had. The management team was responsive and owner Kathy made sure we had all information we needed, including a way to contact her if needed (it was not needed). The ocean club was fantastic and we enjoyed many snacks and meals there- the food was delicious and we loved the staff. We saw whales more than one day from the pool area. The location within the resort is great with shopping and restaurants close by. I loved the Halii Kai resort and this unit in particular. We would be thrilled to stay here on another trip.

Our family of 4 visited the Big island for the first time over Christmas week and hands down it was one of our favorite vacations to date. It will be challenging to keep this brief, but I’ll start by saying simply that Kathy’s unit at Hali’i Kai was perfect for our needs.
First of all, Hali’i Kai is one of the nicest—if not THE nicest—complexes in all of Waikoloa. Unit 12D in particular is one of a kind given: 1. its close (but not uncomfortably close) proximity to the Ocean Club pool, restaurant, and fitness center and 2. the unobstructed view of the ocean. The Ocean Club is exclusively for the use of Hali’i Kai residents and guests so it never feels crowded. The restaurant menu is varied enough to suit most palates and the cocktail and smoothie offerings were more than enough for the adults and kids in our party. The exercise hale faces the majestic Pacific Ocean and even has 2 peloton bikes!
The club and the unit are both perched on a cliff adjacent to a golf course and directly facing the ocean so the sunsets and whale watching are 2nd to none. The lava rock walking path that meanders for miles along the coastline is also steps from the unit and leads to the busier hotel areas of Waikoloa where there are additional restaurants and activities.
The unit itself is so comfortable and quiet with an ideally outfitted kitchen, smart tv with streaming services, efficient A/C unit, washer/dryer, and plenty of storage. The bathrooms are stocked with high end Hawaiian bath products and the water pressure is impressive. Beds and linens are so comfortable and the 2 bedrooms are situated on opposite sides of the condo for those who desire privacy.
Hali’i Kai is also less than 5 minutes driving to both Waikoloa shopping centers (kings and queens) which both have everything you might need for your stay plus a lot of extras. Kathy is a wonderfully kind and responsive host as is the property manager. Our flight home was delayed and we were able to have several extra hours of access to the pool and unit which absolutely saved us.
We had lot of of plans to explore and recreate across the island, but the condo, ocean club, nearby amenities, and beaches kept us as active and well fed as we desired. I guess we’ll have to come back! Mahalo, Kathy!

The condo is exactly as advertised with the most incredible sunset views from your corner lanai. Watching morning golfers against a backdrop of green and blue - just zen! Location was close to several amazing beaches, shopping and the best fresh fish market. (Oceanfish) We enjoyed all the conveniences of home with this well-appointed ‘home away from home’. It was perfect for a relaxing vacation!

Beautiful view
We love Halii Kai complex. It is centrally located for what we like to do. The pool and Ocean Club are great. Food and drinks are delicious. The condo was ok. It was not very clean and appeared like it needs a deep cleaning or update. We tried following directions on how to operate tv and dvd…they didn’t match equipment. Only one dvd worked and property management came and moved it from bedroom to living room. Both beach chairs were worn and falling apart…one had someone’s face mask in the pocket. The view from the lanai was the best.

Beautiful property and ideal location
This property was absolutely beautiful, with pristine views and and incredible location. The upstairs corner unit was ideal - very close to the pool, walking path to the Hilton and a short drive to the local shopping center. The restaurant at the pool was perferct with very good food, drinks and staff. The condo itself very spacious and comfortable - even prettier in person. Kathy was a great host, very responsive to emails leading up to our trip. Check is was easy. Our teenage daugher (17) and her friend also loved staying here. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here.

Another Nice Stay at Halii Kai
We have stayed in Halii Kai units a number of times. Previously we stayed in Ocean Front units but this time we chose a unit with a view of both the golf course and the ocean. As it is also an end unit, you get an expansive view from the living room, master bedroom and the deck. We loved the view and preferred it to just the ocean front view. The unit was very clean and well stocked with condiments, supplies, etc. We would definitely recommend this unit.

The best part of this rental was the location! It was the perfect setting for us. Ocean, sunset, golf views were just amazing! Kitchen cookware and beach accessories were bonuses for us! Wish it would have been cleaner, especially floors, rugs and carpet. Could have been a 5 plus rating if for that.

The pool area is the best on the island. The food and drinks at the pool are amazing. We enjoyed so many wonderful meals and drinks at the pool area.

The property and resort was just what we needed. The location of the unit is perfect as well, close to the pool and ocean view. The unit is stocked with beach gear and kitchen essentials. It's a perfect location on the island as well right next to the best beaches.

The sunsets and sunrises where gorgeous, complete 360 degree views!! Being on the golf course & ocean & next to ocean club is second to none. We are feeling extremely blessed and grateful for this experience with our family, thank you Jesus for this slice of Heaven on earth.

Can't beat the view...cleanliness was a problem
We stayed at Hali'i Kai from 8/14/21 through 8/21/21. We love the property and this is the second time we have stayed. We absolutely love the ocean and golf-course views of this property and would be content sitting on the lanai and drinking champagne the whole trip, if there weren't so much to do on the island. Both rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Unfortunately, the unit was not clean. The floors were gross and the lanai was a real mess. We actually ended up using cleaning supplies to disinfect a disgusting kitchen trash can and to get the place to what we would qualify as a liveable state. We definitely left the place cleaner than we found it. On the second to last day our entry keypad stopped functioning. Fortunately, a call to the property manager got us back in our room within about 30 minutes, so kudos to them for a rapid response. Earlier that morning I had requested a later checkout (due to a later departing flight) via email. I got no response, so asked the tech that came to work on the lock. Her knee-jerk response was that they preferred those requests to come at least 24 hours before checkout. When I told her that we checked out the next day, she took a look and gave us a summary no response. There was someone coming in after us. I understand that, but given how dirty the unit was presented to us, I don't see how turning the unit in 4 hours, compared to 6 would really make much of a difference. All-in-all a great stay. The cleaning issue won't keep us away. I just thought, if it were my property to rent, I would want to know the state it was in, especially if I was charging such a high cleaning fee on a weekly basis. Enjoy your stay at Hali'i Kai! I know we did. P.S.: don't sleep on the bar and restaurant at the pool. Both times we have been, we've been so well taken care of and the food is always a pleasant surprise. Shout out to Kathy, Daniel, Sapphire, and Pua for always making us feel like friends rather than customers.

Ocean Breeze
Our family of 4 adults stayed at this property for a week recently, and we had a fantastic time.
The condo is spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning works well when needed, or there is great airflow with the windows and doors open if you prefer.
The view of the golf course and the pacific can't be beat. We found the complex to be really tidy and quiet and inviting. We enjoyed the pool area and had several good meals at the Ocean Club restaurant, which is just steps away from the unit.
Our neighbors were friendly and quiet, which suited us well.
Inside the condo there is a closet full of beach equipment (toys, chairs, towels) available for use. On premises there is a basketball hoop and a full tennis court as well.
Kathy was great to work with: super responsive and very helpful when we needed to adjust our dates due to covid restrictions. We had a minor problem on check-in and she solved it quickly and to our satisfaction and beyond.
The only negative to the experience was that the unit feels a little worn and could use a professional deep clean and a refresh on the upholstery. It's a luxury property with a luxury view and we would have liked it to sparkle a bit more on the inside. With that caveat, it's still a 5 star rental with a 5 star owner backing it up. We would rent it again.
The location is awesome and just minutes from several world class beaches. The enormous Hilton complex is a short distance away and offers interesting walking and views of sea turtles and a dolphin refuge.
TIP: if you want to try a quiet and beautiful beach, looks up Mauumae Beach. It is spectacular and just a few minutes away.
TIP: hire a charter and go marlin fishing. We have done this three times now, caught a marlin on each trip, and the experience has been a trip highlight every time! We have had great trips with Ihu Nui, Sundowner, and Beast Mode.

Perfect Location
12D is probably one of the best units at Hali'i Kai! The proximity to the pool and restaurant are perfect, the ocean views are amazing, and being on the end unit made the views (and tropical breezes) even more magnificent. The unit's layout and decor are very elegant - much more than I expected. The rooms are large, we had space to spread out. The kitchen is well equipped, and just the right amount of staples (ketchup, sugar), AND Kona coffee provided as well. Plus the well-stocked beach closet made it a snap for us to grab towels, mats, chairs and head out to explore the many beaches nearby. Cannot wait to return.

Quite simply, the Best of the Best!
This condo is in the single best location, in one of the very best gated communities on the Big Island! Western panoramic views by day of the ocean, black lava, sunsets, and the palm treed green of the signature golf hole - all from your comfortable lanai – and they are absolutely stunning. You are steps away from the Ocean club pool and restaurant, and a nightly serenade Conch shell ceremony takes place just steps away from your lanai as the sun disappears into the ocean. The night sky is breathtaking, just like everything about this condo.
Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to make certain your stay is the best of the best, from the well-appointed kitchen to the cornucopia of beach/snorkeling/activity gear that will please any family. It is the ultimate in location convenience for the active, while the beautiful views from the lanai as you are dining or lounging have no peer. Kathy, the owner was so responsive before and during the stay providing wonderful tips on what both Hali'i Kai and Waikoloa had to offer.
12D delivers as a priceless experience, that truly is the Best of the Best. We look forward to being repeat visitors to this unit in paradise.

Perfect vacation
Couldn’t have asked for better. Great communication with host, as well as property manager. Location was perfect! Away from crowds, but close enough to food, activities, and beaches if you wanted. Walking trail adjacent to pool was great for a walk along the lava shore. Very well stocked with everything you need; from towels, to beach equipment, to appliances. Would definitely stay here again if we found our way to the Big Island.

Beautiful location
Excellent vacation spot which is super convenient for the Ocean club. Apartment is beautiful with great views.
Only minor issue was the paucity of towels. Only on our last night did we discover approx. 20 towels in the dryer.

Superb and relaxing vacation
Perfect location, comfortable beds, great views. The beach club has a nice pool and good restaurant. The menu is small but everything is delicious

Hali’i Kai 12D
This is a fantastic condo in a highly desirable property. Amazing views of the ocean and signature green of the golf course, and conveniently close to the pool and workout facilities. We’ve been coming to Hali’i Kai for several years now and really enjoyed ourselves in this condo.

AWESOME!!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful condo. It is truly the best location in the resort. We enjoyed seeing the whales almost every morning from the lanai. The condo is just across the street from the pool and we spent time there every day. The condo was stocked with everything we could want or need. I hope to be able to make a return visit next year.

Winter Vacation in Paradise
We really enjoyed staying at this condo. The ocean view and the sunsets were incredible.
The condo was beautifully decorated and well stocked for all our needs. We had two issues while we were there. The condo floors had not been cleaned when we arrived and we had to contact the management company to have them cleaned. The air conditioning broke during our stay and it took 24 hours to get it fixed.
