We really enjoyed staying here. The historical building had a lot of character. The property has a very convenient location to many sightseeing opportunities. We visited to view the eclipse and this place was close enough to the Hill Country for a reasonable drive. It is a college town so there are lots of eating places. There is a fun Irish Pub downstairs that was nice for a quick lunch and beer. Even though the pub is downstairs the sound really didn’t bother us. We heard some sound but the bed was comfortable and we were tired from all the sightseeing we did in the area. My usually noise-adverse husband had no comments about it!
The property owner is very responsive with questions and even came to the property to show us how to use the shower faucet.
The kitchen had everything we needed, although we only used it for quick breakfasts before going out for the day. The washer and dryer are top class and detergent is provided. A real plus in our opinion. There is also a nice TV.
The only thing I see lacking is enough hangers in the second bedroom closet and a luggage rack. Traveling from cross country, we had large suitcases with no place to put them or enough hangers to hang our clothes. This is a minor point though.
All in all, this is a great place to stay. It is a great location to see San Antonio, and Austin, as well as the Texas Hill Country.

This apartment was perfect for our 2 night stay in San Marcos. So many close, fun and yummy places to go and eat. Sean Patrick's just below was fun and has a great beer selection! Root Cellar Cafe for dinner was fantastic as was the Blue Dahlia Cafe for brunch. Everyone was very friendly and helpful at the property!

We had an event in Austin- Stayed here because it was cheaper and very convenient. Wonderful location. The Pub below has EXCELLENT food. Check in and out was really easy. We will stay again if we get the chance.

Property was great. Great location next to all the fun stuff in the square. Owner was easy to get a hold of and very responsive. Wish we had found this place years ago! :-)

Great Location
The property is accurately described.. The property is on the Square area so it's location is great for downtown activities... The unit is up a couple of flights of stairs. so if you are in shape beware... Inside nice open concept with two equal bedrooms and two bathrooms... We encountered a bit of a glitch checking in as VBRO did not send or provide the key box code... I contacted Brian and he was great and helped us get access.

This is our second time at this property and just like the first it was awesome! You can walk to everything downtown and to the Texas State campus. Brian, the owner is awesome and quickly responds to all inquiries. I would highly recommend this comfy condo!

San Marcos On The Square
Clean, roomy and comfortable. The apartment had everything we could possibly need and Brian the property manager was accommodating and pleasant. We found Matt who works at Sean Patrick's very helpful as well. The square has a variety of restaurants and boutiques within walking distance or you can opt to make dinner in the kitchen area. A parking space is provided which is really helpful in the evenings when the square is high trafficked. The location is excellent with easy access to local attraction. Sean Patrick's pub has a good selection from which to choose and we enjoyed the breakfast tacos before rushing into our busy days. It was very nice to come back to our comfortable digs and relax. If there are any drawbacks, which may or may not affect future visits, it is the street noise which lasted until the bars close and revelers have totally departed the square. There are sound machines at each beside which work well at diffusing out a lot of the sound. And, the large TV equipped with ROKU is a super nice addition but needs better speakers as the dialogue was often difficult to discern. Overall, a really great experience and a new favorite place to stay when we visit San Marcos in the future.

Loved it!
Stayed here for a small weekend getaway with a group of friends, and we all loved it! The Square is of walking distance, restaurants, and coffee shops! Tubing is not far either! We had a blast! I would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable
San Marcos is a charming town within driving distance to Austin. Near Lockhart which has some great bbq joints. Here for F1 racing at COTA and was only 30 mins to track. Accommodation was comfortable and clean. Located above bar and busy street so expect some noise- tolerable. Very easy to access unit. Owner very responsive and his recommendations regarding food was spot on....Root Cellar is excellent choice for breakfast.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed staying in this charming apartment. You can’t beat the location right on the square! Everything is in walking distance. The owner is very responsive and helpful too.

PERFECT location for a weekend away to the river, and enjoying the Square. So many great restaurants and bars all in walking distance, not to mention the fact that you stay above one of my favorite bars in San Marcos- Sean Patricks!

Great spot!!
This was a perfect spot for me and a few college friends to meet for the weekend! It's right on the square so within walking distance to so many bars and restaurants. I was initially worried about the noise since it is located right above a bar, but it never bothered us. The website says it sleeps six people. It has two rooms with queen sized beds and the other "beds" were a love seat and a normal sized couch. The couch was comfortable, but the love seat was small and I couldn't imagine a full size person fitting on it. So, I would say it sleeps 5 people comfortably. Overall it was a great stay and I'll definitely be staying again!

Perfect location right in the heart of San Marcos! I would easily stay here again!
Beautiful, cozy, downtown loft right off the square! Everything is within walking distance and the river is a very short Lyft ride away! Beds aren't the best but it really doesn't matter when it has location location location!!!if you like to drink this would be the best option as you can easily walk to some really cool bars! Also the owner was great and was very informative and friendly, simplest check in/check out process ever plus you get a super nice reserved parking spot!

Great stay in San Marcos!
My family stayed 3 nights in July 2016. Great location in downtown San Marcos. Close to the restaurants/bars and near the river. Property was as described. On our second day, the Direct TV was installed, so my son was happy he had ESPN. (thanks Brian). Property was very clean and well maintained. Comfortable and homey. Property manager was very attentive to requests and questions. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in San Marcos. We plan on staying here again in the future.

Beautiful building in an optimal location! The apartment was comfortable like a home away from home.
Such a cool place in downtown San Marcos. There was so much to see and do. The neighbors in the other units were super friendly making the whole experience great! It felt like home while. Next time the only thing I would change is extending my stay a few nights.

GREAT location and VERY cool loft!
#1 - Perfect location - right near MANY things to do, including the University, River, and Downtown attractions!
#2 - Such a cool loft! The layout is perfect for hanging out and the atmosphere is a delight!
#3 - We did a bunch of hanging out, even cooked several meals in, and were comfortable the entire time!
#4 - The owner was very helpful and even took his time to walk us through a problem we had getting internet connection, it was an US thing, but he was very accommodating and gracious with his time and attention.
#5 - The pub below was a lot of fun and had good food as well as some great local brews!
I would recommend this place for any reason, any time and we will be back!

Such a unique place!
This apartment is perfectly located near the campus and the square. It has been recently updated so it is very nice inside but still gives the feeling of staying in a 100 year old building. It has all the important things like coffee maker, wine bottle opener, hair dryer and comfortable beds.
We toured Texas State University, walked along the river and ate at the places Brian suggested (they were great !)
It was nice to walk home, open the windows and watch the college kids wander around the square. This place should be on everyone's bucket list !

We came in for Float Fest this year, and didn't want to be camping out in the hot sun. This rental was perfect! Great location, very nice apartment, and nicely placed above Sean Patricks where we ate each morning.

We truly enjoyed our stay! The apartment was perfectly located near bars and restaurants and a short drive to the river. The Irish pub downstairs was a little noisy but we didn't mind and had a great time. We were surprised and excited to see a farmers market downstairs near the Townsquare Saturday morning. We can't wait for another opportunity to stay here again.

We stayed at the apartment above Sean Patricks for the 4th of July weekend. It's was very spacious and clean! We enjoyed our stay! Everything was pretty close to walking distance too.

Stayed at the loft for two nights with our young adult daughters. This is a great place for small family or two couples. Everything was clean and comfortable. As others have mentioned, it is an urban setting so there is street noise associated with the location. Either go to bed early or bring some ear plugs. Not a big deal. There was no hair dryer, but again no big deal. It is a walk up so be ready for some stairs. We considered it our daily work out! Sean Patricks was very nice and this place is walking distance to many other cool eating and drinking places. We would definitely return for another stay.

This is our second stay at the loft and we were not disappointed! We loved the convenience of all of the surrounding night life and great local hot spots. We stayed for three days and were able to experience something new each day. I highly recommend trying out Café on the Square or Red Bud Roosters for breakfast. The Pub downstairs has amazing food and great drink specials. Great place to start your night off at! We cant wait to book again! Thank you for the great experience!!!!

This apartment is in an excellent location in downtown San Marcos. Friday evening was a bit loud and if I didn't have to attend a course in Saturday I probably wouldn't have minded. The property manager is very attentive and easy to work with. The designated parking spot is very convenient.
