A fantastic location and house, especially if you like seclusion and views.
Laurie, the concierge, was extremely helpful in orienting us to the area and arranging meals. The house is very clean, modern and open. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Bit of paradise
Picture accurately reflect the "Treehouse" feel of this place. Lovely view, open and airy, nice pool, terrific communication. Away from the crowds of Santa Teresa, but still close enough to enjoy the restaurants, surf, etc. I'd probably not have a toddler in the house because of all steep drop offs, but everyone else will love. Brad and Laurie were responsive and super helpful.

Fantastic Stay
What you see is what you get! It’s a stunning complex that easily could accommodate 2 families. Our family of four stayed for nine days and had plenty of space to chill during the hot afternoons. We made use of the kitchen one night when we hosted another family for dinner under the stars! Sleeping was wonderful and you can open the windows or use air conditioning. Either is great!
Laurie was attentive and a great source of information.
You definitely need a 4x4 and the drive down to the beach is 5 minutes and approximately 10 minutes into town. Between walks on the beach, yoga, lunches, outings we probably went to and from the home 5x a day, but that’s the fun of heading to a place like Costa Rica.
We plan to return!

Would stay here again!
Great property in convenient location. Only 5 min drive to beach (best to have SUV or pickup). Amazing views. House itself is spacious and well distributed. Would recommend more shade in main area, fans in kitchen, and windows with screens to allow for breeze. Property manager was helpful to book different activities, but the house was not totally in order when we arrived (leaves everywhere, only one water jug, no propane). This was corrected once we mentioned it to her.
Would def stay here again!

Tree House in Costa Rica
This house is fabulous. Secluded, great views, lovely pool, spacious with a very functional and fun lay out. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Laurie, the concierge is terrific and can help with random questions, setting up home chefs and various excursions.

"The Treehouse in the Sky"
Our family has travelled to Costa Rica many times. This was our first time in Santiago and it is now our most favourite destination. Our stay was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were in paradise. We affectionately named our house the Treehouse in the Sky. The accommodations, the view, the yoga retreat we were lucky to have so close to the house all made for a relaxing and surreal vacation. Having chefs in the family made evening meals in the outdoor dining area a special treat at the end of a fun filled day. Shopping for groceries was never a problem with easy access to fresh fish, meat and produce. We enjoyed a selection of restaurants on and off the beach. Laurie was the perfect concierge always available to answer questions and book excursions. The house staff were attentive and friendly and always went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Thank you Brad for sharing your unique home nestled in the hills shared with beautiful wildlife and stunning views.

Beautiful, secluded, comfortable, spacious
This gorgeous property is located up a dirt road, which at times can be very bumpy, as a lot of roads in Costa Rica are. But once you arrive, the property and view are so beautiful, the drive will seem like a distant memory. The pool is a good size, clean and shaded so the water is refreshing and crisp, a welcome reprieve from the hot Costa Rican sun. Most of the house can be left open and we only ran the AC at night in some bedrooms. Tons of fans in master bedroom which was nice. The kitchen is equipped with a decent array of dishes and utensils but no microwave, but that’s pretty typical I guess. Towels are lovely and plentiful, sheets are fine but pillows could use some refreshing. Lots of nice beach towels too.
A list of recommended restaurants and house check in dos and donts would also be helpful. But Laurie is a doll and answered all of our pesky questions very promptly. She arranged for the BEST surf instructor ever, and made dinner reservations for us and reserved our atv as well. (Hint... unless you don’t mind being really dusty, an SUV is a much better form of transportation around town.... although atv’s go faster over the rough dirt roads, you wind up covered in dust and feeling like you’ve been on “vibrate” mode when you arrive at your destination). We loved having an extra set of wheels for a day or two but overall we found that our Fortuner was the preferred mode of transport to/from the beach and Santa Teresa, which we traveled to almost nightly for dinner. So many good restaurants there!! Not much in playa Hermosa area but Santa Teresa is not too far at all. Loved being a little off the beaten path in Hermosa and felt very safe. Lots of gorgeous houses around under construction so we felt like we were in a hidden gem type of location. We had a power outage during early evening and afterwards the caretaker brought us many candles, rechargeable flashlights, and spotlights. Washer and dryer work great.
Lounge areas are mostly outside unless you want to hang out in your bedroom, but they are covered and shaded and remain comfortable even during the middle of the day. You can hear the surf, even from the elevated location, and you definitely can check out the conditions from the deck. Binoculars and yoga mats are a must. Bug spray and sunscreen too of course. But mostly it’s just a delightful house and property, beautifully built and maintained in a gorgeous location as close to paradise as one can get.

Unreal location, attentive hosts.
Some friends and I Stayed here for my bachelor party surf trip in September. Had an amazing time, the home is very well taken care of and is in an amazing location. 5 minutes from a great surf break, and delicious food spots, but isolated on a hilltop patch of jungle making it feel like you’re miles from anyone. The host and local consierge were attentive and thorough, making sure we were enjoying our stay. We had our local contact arrange for zip-lining, for dirtbikes/quad rentals to be dropped off at the house when we wanted them, and also for a chef to come to the house and prepare us a dinner with local tastes. A trip I’ll never forget!
Would recommend.
Would come back.

Luxurious Surf Home
This is probably one of the most private but still easily accessible properties in the areas. We come here to surf and enjoy The beach several times a year, the property location is perfect. It is just up the hill from Playa Hermosa and a short drive from Santa Teresa. The views from the property are amazing and you can see and hear the surf. There are mature trees lending shade and cool winds, so you hardly feel the heat and many pleasant morninGs were spent having breakfast and evening dinners on the Pool deck. The master bedroom has folding glass doors that open completely. The property is elegant. Maid service was impeccable. Our host was nice and helpful and always reachable. I would give this house my highest recommendations

amazing house, great location
We staid here for 5 nights in April 2017 with our 9 year old son. The listing photos show everything perfectly but with such an unusual house and setting the real thing is of course much better. You feel like you're in a treehouse, the first morning we had a howler monkey family in the tree. It was very hot during our stay but up at the house the breeze was always pleasant (we only turned the AC on in our son's smaller bedroom for short period before sleep). You see a few houses in between the trees and hear people every now and then from afar but you feel completely alone up there in a good way. We surfed early in the morning (also at Playa Carmen) and then spent midday at the house as the breeze, shade and huge terrace with a ton of lounge options was so pleasant, and the pool is wonderful. Then we'd head back to Playa Hermosa right down from the house in the afternoon again.
We thought Playa Hermosa was the best beach compared with Playa Carmen and St. Teresa. Flat, long sandy stretch, great waves, lots of palm trees. St. Teresa 'center' was close enough (10 min) but Playa Hermosa also has some nice cafes, great pizzeria / restaurant and is even more mellow.
The concierge Laurie was great, arranged the rental car, set my husband and son up with an amazing surf teacher and gave us good advice on anything else we needed (restaurants, excursions).
We hope to be back to this beautiful and fun place and this house made it even more special.

Amazing spot!
We were fortunate enough to spend 5 nights in this wonderful place and we certainly did not want to leave at the end of it! This place is special. The view is to die for (both towards the sea and towards the mountains behind), the breeze makes even hot nights in March pleasantly cool, the pool is perfect and the several hanging-out areas mean that there is always the perfect shady spot to relax. Our kids loved it here and we all loved the private feel of the property. A bonus is that you can check out the waves at Hermosa beach from the terrace before heading down to surf. And you can watch a stunning sunrise from the comfort of your bed!

So Perfect!
Wow, what a dreamy place! I've been visiting Costa Rica annually for the past seven years and this is by far one of the most perfect spots to be. Reminiscent of a tree house, it's tucked in the canopy among the monkeys, tropical birds and kinkajous (it was my first time to see one- so cute!). With stunning ocean views, the space offered serenity, privacy and luxury. The multi-level design lent a feeling of spaciousness and provided plenty of choice when it came to deciding whether to spend time in the sun or the shade. Lounging poolside has never been so comfortable as the deck furniture was welcoming and immaculate. The home is modern, bright, beautiful and well appointed with plenty of clean linens and kitchen amenities. The maintenance and managerial staff were warm, considerate and efficient. I loved everything about this home. What an ideal place to marinade in the sweetness of Costa Rica. Pura vida!

Private, Quiet Oasis
My girlfriend and i stayed here in December, and we had an amazing time. Its located up in the hills of Hermosa in a very private and quiet spot. Its only a 4 minute drive to Hermosa beach, but located just far enough away that you have your own private oasis. I loved waking up in the morning and only needing to open my eyes to check the surf conditions. The thing i really liked about it was that it stays very cool throughout the whole day due to the great protection from trees. Super cool design though out the house, reminds me a bit of a boat (a big boat that is). You will not be disappointed!!

Fantastic!
My family and I were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful jungle retreat in the beginning of August. I can't begin to tell you how spectacular it was. The pictures are nice but you must see this place in person to fully appreciate it. It's totally private and very safe with a lockable front gate at the top of the driveway. The walls facing the beach are almost entirely glass and can be completely opened for maximum outdoor living. The pool was always crystal clear and totally refreshing.
The house is practically brand new, and everything was well kept and clean - no clutter. The housekeeping staff came to clean every other day. They were very friendly and helpful. Fresh beach towels were always available and new washing/dryer machines made everyday cleanup super easy.
As a family we found it much easier to have several meals and snacks at home. The kitchen is modern and has brand new appliances along with anything else you might need to cook a meal - very easy to use and clean. Each bedroom has a easy to use and quiet a/c unit. Although because we were there during the rainy season we didn't even need the a/c very much... and the kids got to see their first real thunder storm!
This house comes complete with concierge service. Our concierge Laurie was always available for us. She recommended various restaurants and set us up with a fabulous horseback ride on the beach. Just having someone in the area that you can contact for anything was very helpful. She came to greet us on arrival and also came to say goodbye. Our stay at this property was relaxing and seamless.
We hope that we will be able to return someday soon. It will always be one of the sweetest family trips we've ever experienced.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Breathtaking, very private luxury retreat
We stayed here in August during the beginning of the rainy season. The property was beyond beautiful with an amazing upstairs master enclosed in glass. During the thunderstorms, the views were incredible . There is a direct view of Playa Hermosa throughout the property, but with the master glass doors open completely, you can hear the waves crashing. It feels like a very lush, expensive tree house. The property description and photos do not do the property justice. The layout was great for our single family, but could accommodate another couple in a downstairs bedroom that is separate from the main house. The flow of the house was lovely and we enjoyed many breakfasts and dinners on the terraces looking at the views of the jungle and beach or just watching the children swimming in the infinity pool. There was even a troop of monkeys that came to visit . The property was easy to reach with a 4x4 and is located close to Playa Hermosa and Koji's restaurant. The area is definitely quieter than Santa Teresa. But Santa Teresa was an easy 5-10 minute drive. The property is very well maintained and had really the best internet access we had had anywhere in that area. Air conditioners in the rooms kept everything cool, but the house had many mature trees which lent shade, such that we did not need air conditioning many nights- that we have never while staying in Santa Teresa/Malpais. The caretaker and maid service were excellent. We will definitely rent here again !

A Room with a View
This was our 2 nd visit to Santa Teresa and we will continue to visit this piece of paradise. The house is perfect for the outside lifestyle of this great resort. The location is ideal , close to the beach, great restaurants and a little supermarket. The view is the real Jewel in the crown from the deck, pool, and master bedroom. Many pleasant hours pass by not just looking at but hearing the waves as they break on the beach. Nature is all around with howler monkeys audible and visible, and various other creatures such as coatis, raccoons ans colourful squirrels. The house is in great working order with good wifi, water pressure and a nice kitchen. A great place to stay if you want to relax or explore Santa Teresa.

Stunning ocean and jungle views.
This year was our second visit to Costa Rica and as always we thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty and charm of the country. To explain our visit I have written as if to friends or others considering renting your home for their vacation, we loved it, as I am sure others will also.
This time we stayed with our family in the Santa Teresa area just past Malpais, in a unique, beautifully built new home, all wood and glass and open air. Even the wooden furniture inside and out has been hand built. Coming into the gated property you enter your own private world. Up above the beach with magnificent views.
Literally living in the Jungle, with vistas of the beach to check out the waves for surfing, an inviting, cool, infinity pool and decks and areas in different places to relax and enjoy either the sun or the breeze was truly delightful.
Our three grandchildren and their friends from the beach enjoyed several different sleeping areas, from unique bedrooms to an elevated outdoor sleeping deck, which made their stay very special for them and with the infinity pool right there as part of the house, you could not ask for more.
Our 'Grandparents' sleeping quarters were delightful, joined by decking, but just away from the main living area with our own private little deck and beautiful large bathroom area, made our stay even more pleasurable.
The huge upper floor, king size 'Master Bedroom' with ensuite that our son and daughter-in-law stayed in (that they let us use one night to experience) was beyond beautiful. It looks out over the deck area to the beach vista and with windows that folded out and opened up all around, along with large fans made this space very very special.
The Santa Teresa beach is magnificent. Perfect for surfing of course and we loved the ride on the supplied quads each evening, to catch the sunsets from right on the beach. Great restaurants, and so close to other areas for interesting day trips.
We have great memories of preparing meals in the modern fully equipped kitchen that has doors and windows that fold up and open to the outdoor living/dining areas, and sharing together, meals, coffee and evening drinks, literally in the jungle with Costa Rican wildlife in sight.
Staying in this beautiful home made our visit to Costa Rica just that much more delightful and we hope to use this home again in the future.

Beautiful and relaxing home
My family was the first to rent this home for a week. The house is very open and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking and looking out at the beach. The natural breeze was perfect that we didn't need to turn on the a/c at all. Every morning we woke up to the sounds of birds chirping and enjoyed the variety of birds in the surrounding trees. The infinity pool was a perfect to cool off in. The outdoor living space was our favorite area to hang out. Jez and Dahlia were very helpful throughout our stay from having groceries in our fridge when we arrived, to making dinner reservations, and much more. We loved our stay so much that we know we will be coming back again!
