Easily accessible by car, but don't think of walking anywhere because everything is far. It was hard to work at the desk since it was too low or the chair was too high.

I had a terrible experience with a taxi driver and the woman who runs the B&B bent over backwards to help me with it. She is fantastic. And absolutely meticulous about cleaning. Very concerned about Covid. The renovations are very well done In fact if I ever renovate a bathroom in Italy I want to find out who did hers. Also I’m really in love with the wood doors.

It is extremely difficult to get to without a car. Plus unlike hotels there is no place to leave luggage if you want to explore the town. If you were expecting a frilly B&b with that proprietress who hovers around and bakes muffins don’t. Everything is very minimalist. And one piece of advice, if you do happen to take the train do not get off at the The station called Catanzaro. Get off at Catanzaro Lido. There is literally no one at the Catanzaro Station. Not a human not a taxi.

We liked that Emanuela took a lot of time to explain how everything worked and even made dinner reservations for us! She was genuinely concerned for our comfort and well being. GIOIA is a lovely place and it is evident that Emanuela put great thought and effort into her guests comfort. Did I mention the spectacular view from our room? Also the private parking inside the gate brought us peace of mind. A great common area with items for breakfast was a plus! There is also a nice patio on the side of the flat where it is pleasant to sit. We sincerely thank Emanuela for her hospitality and hope to return some day. Grazie Emanuela!
