Our family loved our stay at Sapphire! The condo was very well equipped and had great views of the beach. The amenities are awesome. We enjoyed the gym and my wife and daughter loved the spa. Beach access was easy and the huge pool always had space available. The location was perfect for us. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again!

Great facilities, well kept and clean. Unit was very nice, balcony views were great. Only suggestion is to upgrade the beds. Master bed frame was not sitting level due to carpet under foot board and middle vertical supports had collapsed causing mattress to sink in middle. Vertical Supports appear to be too long for height of horizontal slats. Guest beds were just very firm. All in all, really enjoyed our stay and would recommend both the facility and the unit. Our first, but not last, Padre Island visit. Thanks!

The rental itself was excellent, well stocked kitchen, clean and quiet, except for the malfunctioning fire alarm one night. The check in process was cumbersome. Numerous emails requesting information with confidential information which was not needed as I refused to send all of it. There is never a need to send a picture of a Cc to a phone number. Besides that all the information was not sent by email which then required us to stop at your office. After filling out the requested form we tried to check in with at the Sapphire and were told they didn't have the form. After waiting, calling and repeatedly questioning the front desk we filled the form out there. With todays simple check-ins SPI rentals made the evening so cumbersome we will hesitate to use you again.

My biggest complaint is there were like 2 luggage carts. We had planned on stopping for groceries before we arrived on the island but with the confusion on check in, we decided to wait. I’m so glad we did! There is no one there to help get luggage moved to room, which was new to us. I’m fine with getting my own stuff but have luggage carts, NOT shopping carts! I felt like a homeless beach bum carting my stuff around. Not to mention it took 4 carts to move all our stuff.
The room locks also need to be updated. Key Cards that lose their ability to unlock the door if kept close to a cell phone is completely antiquated. Also, a silicone bracelet that can be slipped off and on instead of the cheap, tight, plastic resort bracelets need to be replaced.
These are suppose to be the most luxurious condos on the island, but these few things made it feel like a cheap vacation rental when I stepped out of my condo. They are easy fixes and really not even expensive fixes.

They said a restaurant and bar was available next door but that was not true. They were closed for renovation and did not tell use when they took our money. It was a holiday week so we paid higher than necessary to get access so we did not have to drive. It was false advertising and they would not compensate us. Wasted extra money to get this location. Be careful with what they promise.

We experienced a few minor maintenance issues that were handled quickly and with positive results. I would like to give special thanks to Joe A. for his professional and courteous attitude during our stay. The maintenance staff, especially Joey were very attentive and polite I would not hesitate to recommend SPI Rentals.

Overall rating for this unit is EXCELLENT along with SPI to rent through. Were there a few challenges? Yes...previous renter made such a mess that we were not able to get in on time. Not a big deal for us though. Key pad messed up and has to be replaced, maintenance responded very quickly. Wish the unit had a more comfy couch for lounging more people. There were lots of dining style chairs but we are loungers and we missed our big couch. These are all minor things and did not affect our week. The unit had a wonderful view, was clean, modern and included all we needed. We rented a full size baby bed from BabyQuip that was delivered along with a beach style wagon - Lifesavers for a 2+ year old. Pool, beach, SPA, kids game room, gym-amazing. Sapphire is the best place to stay on S Padre. We will be back soon.

First, the good: location, pool, beach access are wonderful!
Second, the not good: furniture is old, broken, and dirty. This is not a comfortable condo to hang out in. While the beds were comfortable, the bedding and bath linens were not great. We were given 2 towels per bathroom (worn and cheap) and the king size pillows had standard size pillow cases. We had to buy additional trash bags as well. The kitchen is not well-furnished so we ended up eating out every night.
We had a great stay, but would not reserve this room again.

The pools were closed for remodel. Wasn’t listed on verbiage and was told I should of looked on the hotels website to see that they were closed.

Nice condo, loud music
The condo itself was very nice with nice views, however, we stayed during Spring Break and the Holiday Inn next door hosted parties for college kids 3 nights in a row that blared music so loud nobody could sleep until it stopped at 2am every night. Also the pools were completely drained and inaccessible during our entire stay which was not mentioned by anybody at any time. Very disappointing.

PARADISE!
My husband and I came here to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. The resort, the island, the people, and everything about SPI exceeded our expectations! It was absolute paradise; The near 180° view, the condo, the pool, the beach! All superb! We are already talking about bringing our 5 kids every fall, to share the beauty of the island with them! We cannot thank you enough!

Good resort, dirty condo, high priced
This property needs updating and cleaning. The cooktop was chipped,, living room furniture dirty, and there was hair in drains. Advertised as 2 kings, but there was only 1. We would not stay here again. Check in was cumbersome. For the price, would definitely find something else.

The place is in a great location, close to the sea. Both balconies have nice views. Furnitures though in the living room need update. The BBQ in the balcony doesn't work, need to be replaced. I would definitely come back. Looking forward for next time.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful and amazing! Perfect vicinity to the beach. The pool is wonderful. Overall, would recommend. There was a lot of miscommunication between the Sapphire and SPI Rentals. The apartment was GREAT. Rental company, not so much.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Sapphire. The condo was very clean and exactly as described. Weather was great too & beach wasn’t super crowded. Just watch for jellyfish . The one thing we would have liked was to have a restaurant on site.
The Pearl next door had an outdoor bar & grill just a short walk away, but would have been nice to have one at the Sapphire as well.

Great beach vacation in beautiful condo!
We loved the condo. The views are stunningly beautiful. The facility as a whole is very nice and meets most needs. We were disappointed that the gym and game room were closed the whole week. When we ask they said you have to be an owner to use them. We chose this place because they are featured on the web site. The kitchen did not have basic items like salt and pepper, oil, coffee, sugar, etc. VRBO recommends these items be stocked. We will definitely return next year if a few changes are made.

Great unit!
Overall this unit was perfect for our family. Not too high in the building and not too low. South view is great for seeing what Space X is doing. Unit was clean and furnished with everything we needed. Only complaint was the hot water from the building system wasn’t very hot.

Great Space
We spend a week here over spring break. The location of this condo in the corner has the best views! The condo could use some updating with the bedding the pillows were terrible I did talk to the staff and they brought new pillows up the next morning. They also need to address the ceiling fan in the master definitely kept me up at night. It would have been nice to be able to check in at the location and not downtown. I also felt the staff at the Sapphire were not that friendly and we’re totally over doing it on the rules. But overall it was a great stay!

Condo was everything as promised. We especially enjoyed the view of Spacex at Boca Chica. We had heard of South Padre Island from others but it was better than expected.

Thanksgiving 2020
This is my third time to stay in this unit and about the 20th time in Sapphire. I stay in the building several times each year. The unit is fantastic but needs a little freshening up to match the other units in the building. It needs (1) new living room furniture, (2) deep cleaning and sealing of all tile, (3) the master shower door leaks and has accumulated residue by the door (this needs to be removed and sealed), (4) most of the toilet paper and towel racks are loose, and (5) the unit needs some touch up painting.
I love the unit and will stay there again. Hopefully the owner will find these comments with the positive/helpful tone in which they are intended.

We love this condo on the end with the great views. This is our second time staying in that unit. Only criticism would be to fix the noisy ceiling fan in the master bedroom and get some new furniture for the living room, it's pretty worn out.
