Thanks so much for the wonderful house. It was a perfect house for our family with 5 adults and 1 child. The house was larger than it looks in the photos and was in a perfect location on the island. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed and the outside showers were amazing! Mahalo for a wonderful family vacation!

Lovely, well-situated home on the Kohala coast side of the island. Good proximity for activities both north and south on the leeward side, and to gain access for cross-island travel to Hilo and Volcano. Comfortable beds, well-appointed kitchen amenities, responsive hosts, and a detailed, informative starters' and home-base guide. Room-specific air conditioning allowed for individual preferences. Quiet and private, and with a general store conveniently next door (without noise or sounds). We felt very comfortable and highly recommend it!

This is probably the best experience I've had with a rental home. Super clean, great layout, with lots of thoughtful touches to make us feel welcome. Across the street is a shallow tidal area that was an absolute National Geographic experience: fish! crabs! turtle! octopus! Next door is a small "general store" that had necessities and weekly snorkel rentals. It was a lovely place for a lovely vacation.

I can't say enough good about our stay with Island Beach Rentals, 9B in Puako. The house was just gorgeous, everything that we needed was there. Our hosts came to make sure we got checked in ok and helped us to know how to be good neighbors. The location, next to a small store, and across from Beach Access was just perfect. The neighborhood is very quiet. The outdoor showers were appreciated and helped to keep the floors sand free. We would stay there again in a heart beat and recommend it highly!

We were very happy with the property. While it was about a 30 minute drive to Kona, we had easy access to several beaches. The trade off was with it. The property managers were amazing and very responsive. We will definitely recommend this property to others

Loved this home in a quiet neighbor and easy access to the water for a beautiful sunset view. The house was spacious with a great porch on the back. The back porch had a grill with propane, tables, beach toys, chairs, etc. The house was clean and each room had its own AC unit. We had lots of room for our group. Had lots of supplies in the house for us to use which was pleasant surprise. Would definetly stay here again with a larger group. House was very clean and comfortable, only a few steps to get into the house.

Our stay at this house was wonderful!
Plenty of space, a big kitchen, a relaxing/secluded garden at the back, an nice outdoor shower, the hawaian feel! The fact that it was one minute from a small general store was useful. The beach and its ponds were beautiful and just 5 minutes walking distance: we did some snorkeling and it was great.
The house was very clean.
I would recommend this house without hesitation.

Family Vacation
Family of 8 adults stayed at the house, was clean and it was very nicely furnished. We had plenty of towels, beach gear etc.. Would stay again, perfect house for a large group.

Puako location, modern home, smaller lot
Nice home with helpful hosts in a great location. Decent beach gear. Lot is smaller than many homes in this area and outdoor space somewhat limited. Air conditioning throughout house is comfy. Propane grill and outdoor shower were clean and useful.

Love Puako
Love the area. House was very spacious with lovely backyard. Setting was not as private as I had hoped for, house is set back from road but two other residences directly in front.Backyard and deck (although small) was more private. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious outdoor shower. Right next door to general store which was convenient but noisy from rattling tanks from dive shop. Responsive property management

Quiet and Relaxing
The property manager handled an issue with the water heater quickly and it was super convenient having the general store right next door for daily ice. I love this neighborhood and highly recommend this property.

A great stay
We had a lovely time in Puako. The accommodations were great for our 6 adults. The outdoor shower, kitchen utensiks/appliances, and location were over the top!
Jay was an excellent property manager. He even called during our visit after an earthquake and storm to check on us. Mahalo

We LOVE this house
This house fit our needs perfectly! It was close to the Kohala resorts and shopping but not in the middle of the all that activity. We had everything we needed. A well stocked kitchen, plenty of bath + beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler. Great beaches are close too. Each of the bathrooms had full sized sham, conditioner and body wash - including the outdoor shower which was amazing. The owners left a welcome pack of coffee and chocolates which were very much appreciated.

Wonderful
This home was comfortable, light and had a homey feel to toy. The kitchen is well stocked and the location is superb. Owners are responsive and the property manager responded right away to a question or a problem. Highly recommend!

Great House
There are multiple beach accesses within walking distance walking left or right out of the driveway. The beach access to the right enters Puako bay, the second closest, perhaps a 3 minute walk is spectacular with lots of sand. Most of the big island shoreline is not sandy. Plus the bay is sheltered so the waves there are calm most of the time. The house is spacious, the AC works well, the lanai out back is great, the kids loved playing in the yard. We did remote work there for the first three weeks with clients and companies in Colorado and the internet was fine for multiple simultaneous video calls. The house had everything we needed save perhaps a knife sharpener, so pretty well stocked. This is a great place to park to enjoy the big island.

Great House
Loved this house. Big enough for our large group of 8, loved the large kitchen and the deck. Beds were comfortable, outdoor shower superb, location wonderful. Right across the street was snorkeling and great beaches a short drive. The property manager responded immediately to any concerns or questions we had. The only improvement I would wish for is more chairs on the deck. 4 chairs for 8 people did not cut it, as we spent so much time outside. A few fold up chairs would do the trick.
We will be back!

We were 3 couples and the place worked out great. Good size kitchen and nice outdoor space. Short walk to the beach across the street.

Ideal location to all of the top beaches on the Big Island! Amazing tidal pools and some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii is 2 minutes away.Home was very comfortable and well maintained. Kitchen was great and stocked with everything you need.

Wonderful Puako home
This was our 3rd stay at this affordable house in a perfect neighborhood, which should tell you a lot. It's spacious & comfortable & accommodated all 8 of our family members easily. The beds are great & the kitchen is well-supplied, with a lot of beach gear available to use. The location is very convenient to the activities we enjoy & the best beaches are nearby. The outdoor shower is so handy, as is the Puako General Store next door. We hope to stay here next year as well & highly recommend this vacation rental!

Puako beach house
We were very comfortable staying here and would definitely consider coming back, next time we will bring even more of the family! My only suggestion is that the outdoor furniture needs to be updated and should be able to accommodate more people. The house sleeps at least 6 but only 4 people can sit around the small table outside. The outdoor furniture is also not as depicted in the photos.
The lanai leaks a lot during any rain and cannot be used if it is wet and stormy.

Lovely Neighborhood and Location
This lovely home was tucked next to the General Store. It had all the amenities that we needed for an ideal beach vacation. We have a large family, so we cook a lot. It had all the accessories that we needed to prepare our meals. The rooms and bedding were exactly as described and each room had its own cooling control. The backyard was tropical and inviting. The lovely Pacific was just across a small road and beautiful beaches were minutes away.

Return visit was great
We returned for a second year and thoroughly enjoyed this home once again. There were some nice upgrades such as new and improved in-room air conditioning units and a new TV. It's such a comfortable, well-equipped house. Perfect for a family vacation! Mahalo!

Comfortable place for a family
We loved our stay. Beach access was easy. Left to one fine spot. Right to another. And right next door to the market that was very handy. Just what we had hoped for and more.

Perfect
The house is back off Puako Drive, so it's free of any car noise. Ignore previous comments about the air conditioning, as it has been upgraded and is quiet and efficient. The house is nicely appointed and has everything you would need for your stay or a visit to the beach. It's a great place to stay for a large family.

Perfect location.
This house is in a perfect location to enjoy the water. Puako Bay is a 2 minute walk. There's good snorkeling, kayaking, and wonderful tide pools. Beach 69 is about a 5 minute drive, with even better snorkeling. It's also a great,shady beach for playing in the waves and enjoying the day.
The house is clean and well-stocked with all the essentials. The pictures and description s are accurate. We wish we could stay longer. Thank you!

Affordable, perfect house in best Kohala Coast location
This was our second stay at this wonderful house in Puako and we love it! It is located so close to the best beaches on the north coast & next door to the Puako General Store. The beds are comfortable & the 2 1/2 bathrooms are very nice, esp. the master bath. The outdoor shower is so handy to use when returning from the beach & keeping the sand outside. The kitchen is roomy & well-appointed with modern appliances...so much fun to cook in! The dining room seats everyone & is also great for games. Lots of beach gear is available on the big lanai as well. The whole house is attractively decorated & very welcoming. We highly recommend staying here!

The house was fabulous and accommodated our family beautifully.
We were on a holiday trip with our children and grandchildren.The house was spacious enough for all of us. The children enjoyed the yard to play in. The deck was great for meals. The ocean was just across the road and there was even a general store next store-very convenient, but very expensive. It was lovely with all the conveniences of home. Thanks much for your hospitality.

Quiet Local Getaway
This comfortable, well-appointed home was perfect for a 3 generation holiday. We loved the residential location, the market next door and the excellent snorkeling right across the street. It was also a good location from which to explore the rest of the island.

Fantastic Place To Stay
We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful home. It offered every convenience we needed for a luxurious, comfortable and safe visit. Great location to so many wonderful sites and sacred spaces on the Big Island. Plus only a few minutes walk to the beach. With a quaint local market almost next door. Who could ask for more. I highly recommend this place. The local rental agency pleasantly made sure we had everything we needed. Blessing upon all who go and stay here.

Perfect place for a family vacation
We've been visiting the Big Island for over 20 years and this Puako house is hands down one of the best places we have stayed. We had a very special 3 generation family vacation and loved the placement of the bedrooms, the comfortable family room, and open kitchen. The outdoor shower was another highlight. The house has great energy. It's clearly loved and well-cared for. The geckos are vocal and fun too :). Much gratitude to the owners for sharing their lovely home with us! We hope to return!

Great house in quiet neighborhood
This house is clean and comfortable and well designed to allow for gathering and privacy. We spent most of our time on the back porch. The general store next door has most of what you’d need and the people who work there are lovely. I would have liked to walk to a swimming beach but luckily Wailea and Hapuna are both a short drive away. After one day in Kona to go on a snorkel boat, I was so glad we weren’t staying in that town. Puako is much better if you want to get away from the resort scene.

Good location, pleasant home
This is a very pleasant home, close to some great beaches. The back deck is quiet, and looks out on an untouched forested area that is great for bird watching and listening. Large kitchen space, nice bedrooms, clean and airy. Being so close to the ocean, one of the only things the hose is lacking is an ocean view, but it is only a couple of minutes walk to the water.
It was nice to have a general store literally just around the corner, pricey but very convenient for any last minute purchases. The only other comment my family had was that the individual AC units in the smaller bedrooms were noisy, but they did a good job keeping the temperatures pleasant.
Given the opportunity we would be happy to stay here again.

Best rental house around!!!!
We stayed in this beautiful house with our 2 kids and couple other families, and we LOVED IT! We loved how comfortable the house was for 8 PEOPLE, and with kids. We didn't feel crowded and we had our own space. We also loved the location. Being near the local store was perfect, we walked over every day to get food, snacks, treats, it was a blast! We also spent time every evening walking the beach. There was public beach access minutes away, we loved spending our evenings watching the sunset and looking at the turtles sleeping on the beach. It was absolutely breathtaking.
We also loved the incredible care that the owners took in our stay. They checked in with us before we arrived to make sure we knew what to expect and answered any questions we had.
If you are coming to this area, this is a hidden oasis you must rent for your vacation, you will not regret it!

Beautifully appointed home with everything we needed for our island adventures! Fabulous outdoor shower and amazing beaches close by! Swam with turtles just down the street at Beach 69!
