Really appreciated the hospitality of our host. She was super responsive and they provided a very clean very comfortable home in a great location overlooking Kona. We loved the sound of the frogs at night. The altitude of that location it really cools off nice at night and you can sleep really well. The kitchen was well equipped, clean, and very nicely designed. The bathroom Was great and everything worked really well. It was so great to have all the comfort of home nearly and it’s such a great price! Thank you so so much for sharing your home with our family!!!

We enjoyed this house so much the first time, we decided to come back this year. Before, we were in the upstairs unit, this trip we were downstairs. The upstairs had been unrenovated the first time, but we thought it was lovely nonetheless.
For this trip, we enjoyed the fully renovated downstairs unit and wow! Spectacular change! This property is on the slopes above the hot, flat lava fields that Kona proper sits on, so it's at least 10 degrees cooler and much wetter, a welcome relief after a day of rambling around the town. The view from the balcony lanai is stunning.
The unit was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was well-equipped for the simple cooking we did and the bed was very comfortable. Our only gripe was the family upstairs. There was a young boy who decided he had to run around the unit, dashing from room to room. His parents didn't stop him and they, themselves thumped around like elephants. This continued, even after we complained to the manager, who asked them to be considerate of their downstairs neighbors. We endured this for almost a week. The takeaway lesson--we will specifically ask for the upstairs unit, renovated or not!
But, all in all, we loved this place and will make this our go-to home away from home when next we visit Kona.

Originally we booked the property only for 3 nights but once we landed and found how close enough for things that we wanted to do we extended the stay by another 4nights. Property was clean and the host was awesome! We will stay here again!

Very nice place to stay. Beautiful sunsets and view from the Lanais. Close to Kailua Kona. Great place to relax and cool down after long days at the beach. Beds are comfortable and clean. Beach equipment and a washer and dryer were helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Pictures don’t do it justice- this house is stunning inside and out- The everyday sunset is magical- my teenage girls had an opportunity to take amazing portraits….
The neighborhood gave my husband and I an opportunity to do our morning hikes every day.
Great place to stay. Close enough to it all but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet.

This place was great for 2 people. Well situated between most places we wanted to go in Kona, close to shopping if needed. Would highly recommend.
Would recommend some privacy shades over the sliding glass windows along the deck if possible in the future. Definitely check this place out.

This was one of the best homes we have stayed at on vacation! So clean and in a great location for everything. The views were stunning and so relaxing to sit out on the deck and soak up the sounds and views of the island. They had everything we needed in the home and for the beach! Highly recommend and hope to return when we get back the big island!

The location was great for our stay on HI with easy access to the beaches, Costco, 15 minutes to Makani Golf course and the the airport. The home was spacious with comfortable beds and the lanai was a great place to unwind and enjoy the sunset. We liked being up in elevation which provided cool nights for sleeping. A big thank you to Laura, Martha and Kona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It was great. Host thought of everything. Toilet was clogged, host had it fixed within hours. They even offered us a full refund when the three guests above us were stomping and keeping us awake. Super clean, even by my high standards. Great location. Fantastic view. So comfortable. Literally perfect. Don’t miss out.

We don’t like resorts and getting away from the business of Kona and Waikaloa we’re important for us. This location was convenient and the views were great. At first we were concerned about no a/c but after a couple of hours with all of the windows open it was fine. The neighborhood is quiet except for the roosters which we loved!

So clean! Cool breeze was perfect. The views are even better in person with all those sliding doors. Can’t beat sitting on a porch swing watching the sun go down over the water. Owner took extra good care of us by delivering a blender to our door. So awesome.

The apartment looked just like the pictures, very modern and comfortable. It's a bit of a drive to Kailua-Kona (especially at night, the roads are very dark), but it was a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

Bad news: There is a camera on the deck that points directly into the living room. When we asked if it could see into the house, the host offered to turn it off. So I guess that is a "yes." I believe this is illegal under HI law and also unethical. VRBO policy says it is ok to have external cameras -- but I don't think that means pointing into the house. The camera also seemed to go back on if we got near it. There were other options so that the camera would not have been looking into the living room.
The flat was beautifully remodeled and view was nice. Location 10-15 minutes from town was a bit of a pain.

This has to be one of the best locations on the Big Island. Particularly if you want an authentic Hawaiian experience.
The property is nestled above and has wonderful views. It is clean and updated to feel like a home away from home.
We were able to travel down to enjoy what the Big Island has to offer, beaches, mountains, and great people.
Speaking of people, Maggie our host was extremely helpful in how she greeted us prior to our stay and throughout our journey Hawaii. We had a bit of a delay with our flights, she assured us the home would be there waiting our arrival. She helped relieve the stress of travel with her kind words.
I would definitely stay here again and have found that our love for the islands is because of the people. Great stay and great property!

This home is clean, nice and new. The view is amazing, the neighbors are nice. There’s a great local grocery store nearby that has all you need, and the house has supplies like beach chairs, boogie boards, masks and snorkels.

This house is updated and clean. The patio over looks the ocean and is the reason we chose this location. The only negative is that the house is 15-20 minute drive from anywhere. Would stay here again!

Up above Kona with a killer view - our group of four really made use of the lanai every evening after a day of play around this side of the Big Island. This home is fresh off a remodel with comfortable beds and bath, with quality touches from the shampoo to the lap blankets. A minor inconvenience was addressed by the owner who was quickly responsive by text.
Would stay again here without any hesitation!

Kona Hale is exactly as Laura has described and pictured. Clean, comfortable, modern, updated and well appointed just begins to describe this wonderful place. Located in a friendly hillside neighborhood, facing west, the views are stunning! The lanai is awesome, really surreal with a breeze blowing you overlook tree tops down the hill way over the airport to the Pacific Ocean. Sunsets never disappointed us. Centrally located provided easy access to anywhere on the island. Laura is a great host! Don’t hesitate if her place is available.

Nice view of the valley and ocean below. Clean and well kept. Could use a few more towels and a BBQ grill and the local TV stations. We didn’t realize we were on the lower level of the home with another rental place above us.

The house had many conveniences. And lots of space to spread out. The views were lovely of treetops and the ocean. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of warm water for bathing. We loved it there!

Our family of three stayed two nights at this cozy retreat. We stayed on the second level of the house with the beautiful large terrace and views off the ocean. The apartment is large and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked. The area is close to the airport, ocean and Kona town. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
