The location was fabulous and the grounds were amazing. Cherry tomatoes and fresh fruit right out your door. Sandra is an artist and had some great pieces around the property and in the rental.

The bed was squeaky.

Nice location away from the bustle and noise of downtown Kailua. Very large and comfortable bed. Complete kitchen.

We loved being in the mountains where the condo was located. It was a close drive to everything and Sandra was very very helpful. The view from where we were located was just excellent, we got to see the sunset every night.

The only thing we could think of was a possible outside porch.

This property is an entire suite within the owners' home on beautiful grounds. We had all the comforts of home - nice king bed, well stocked kitchen, large TV with Netflix & Prime.

The furniture in the living room was extremely uncomfortable .

It is located in a calm area, in beautiful lush environment. The apartment is spacious, clean and equipped with most things you’ll need during your stay. Even beach gear is provided and we received a bag of Hawaiian coffee as a welcome gift which was a nice gesture.

What we missed was a drying rack to hang on our wet clothes and towels after a beach-day. Lack of washer/dryer can also be a negative point if you would stay longer. The other thing which made us quite disappointed was that there was another apartment in the house, on the ground floor, that was equipped with a nice swimming pool. That pool is only accessible for the people renting that specific apartment, so our children were pretty sad to see the other guys playing in the water. I think you should mention this in the description of the property so people know in advance that there is a pool but they are not allowed to use it.

Nice change from the hotel scene in Hawaii; apartment with seating area, dining area and sense of privacy from the rest of the house. Even had access to some basil leaves for cooking dinner; quick responses to any questions. Away from downtown area but very quick 5-10 minute access to beaches and parks. Responsive hosts.

Generally, this wasn't a major problem, but only having A/C in the bedroom made the space rather warm mid-day.

Great hosts! You really feel like you're at home at this property with the spacious living room, comfortable bed, and quiet neighborhood. Great location up on the hill. Cooler during the day than down on the beach, but still a short drive to all the action.

The location was excellent, close to downtown Kona and the airport. The unit has nicely maintained, beautiful grounds. Everything was very clean and decorated with Sandra's beautiful Hawaii paintings. Close to main roads leading to most parts of the big island. The neighborhood was quiet and very nice. Sandra was a fantastic host! She went way out of her way to help us when we ran into Hawaii's COVID regulation hassles. Looking forward to our next stay at The Great Kona Escape.

The owner was so friendly! She just seemed to know that I was worried about my kids possibly being too loud. Without me saying anything she sent me a text and told me not to worry about noise and that she loves kids.
