We just stayed at Vaughn's home in Corolla for the past week, with four families staying there, ages 9 to 81, and loved it. Not only is the community (Corolla Light) amazing with excellent amenities, but the location of the house with lots of great spots to walk to for shopping, good eats, and the historic Corolla Park which was a great spot for a walk or run. The house was great, with more than enough room and a nice pool and hot tub which our kids used daily. The owner was excellent. A great communicator and extremely welcoming. He took care of us when a little hiccup occurred that was out of our control, and we appreciated it, even getting us some drinks at the fabulous Oceanfront Grille across the street. We book quite a few rentals across the US and Vaughn has to be one of the best we have ever rented from. Thank you for sharing your amazing beach house with us! I would recommend this property and would love to visit again!

The house is located in a wonderful spot, close to the beach and the bay. The men enjoyed fishing off a pier on the sound side. Unfortunately the weather was not the best. We had drizzle the whole week. We would stay again as everyone had their own room. The master bedroom on the top floor had a comfortable bed, the other rooms not so much. We did have a problem with the ice maker not working. The office was notified they came & replaced it as the previous renters complained. Once replaced, ice did not come out as it should. We did buy ice plus notified the office of the problem. All and all we did enjoy our stay.

We had a wonderful week at OBX Star. It was steps away from the sound as well as the beach. The amenities, we used the fitness center almost daily, were great. We were a few minutes' drive from shopping, and biking around the area was easy too. We were avid OBX vacationers since 2004 but hadn't been to OBX since 2017. It was great to come back and share new memories with family at OBX Star!

This was our first time vacationing as a family. Corolla light resort in North Carolina was beyond family friendly.The planned activities were fun and the trolley was awesome to have available to carry our coolers and beach chairs!! We 100% will be back!!!

The house was perfect for our family. Very spacious with plenty of room for a large group. The house is in need a deep clean though. There were dead insects on the window sills and cob webs on light fixtures. The sliding doors were difficult to open/close due to the dirt build-up.
The property management was very responsive and immediately addressed the small issues when contacted.

The property was exactly as described. Check in was a breeze and communication with the owner and the rental company was excellent. We discovered a broken sliding door on the day we arrived. I contacted the owner and he responded immediately. Someone came and fixed it the next day.
The house is very roomy and we found basically everything we needed in the kitchen for making meals. Nice location between the sound and the ocean. Corolla Light Resort was very nice and the owner includes the use of all the amenities as part of the rental.

Communication with the property manager and the owner was great. We were missing a couple linens, and despite a late check-in, we were taken care of right away. Location was excellent, house was spacious and clean, and everything we needed was conveniently located (grocery, etc.). The only caution I have is to bring EVERYTHING you need. Things like hand soap, salt, pepper, etc. that are often available are not included. No big deal, but helpful to know ahead of time.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent, and the house was very spacious. The check in process was smooth. However, the house was disgusting on arrival. It was obvious nothing was swept, there were roaches and spiders everywhere. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher, chicken bones in the kid's beds and food on the floor. The windowsills and doors were black with filth and dead bugs. The pillows were on a pile on the ground and the couches were filthy despite having slip covers that could have been washed. There was a vacuum cleaner, but it hardly worked. We spent the entire first night cleaning the house. I have photographs to back up everything I just wrote. Overall, a good experience, but I would hire a different cleaning service.

We enjoyed our stay at OBX Star. It was conveniently located to many shops and dining. We loved having the bikes available to us, and we had plenty of room to spread out in the home with our party of 10. The home had most of the small items and appliances we needed to cook, and the gas grill was nice as well. The beach was nice, and the reservation included several amenities within the resort. Thank you for a wonderful vacation in Corolla!

I cannot recommend Corolla Light Resort enough! This house is conveniently located very close to a trolley stop, which made getting our group of 10 to and from the beach a breeze! There was a bit of confusion with check-in and accessing the house but that was no fault of Vaughn. The middle level queen desperately needs a new mattress but all other rooms were great. The main living area and kitchen were very open and spacious. This was our first experience on the sound side and we will never look back.

Location of the house was convenient to amenities and the beach. Resort shuttle was nice and frequent. The property itself was good and the owner was most helpful and responsive to our communications. It's a great unit for a family with small children!

So happy we finally made it to the OBX. We had a great time with our kids & their spouses.The house certainly met all of our needs. The house had both a high chair & pack n play which really helped out. Less things to bring with us. We took advantage of the kayaks & bikes that were provided. The pool was a nice thing to come home to after a day at the beach. It provided us with another place to hang out with everyone. Definitely something we would consider doing again in the future.

My family had a wonderful time staying at Star! The location was perfect and we enjoyed a lot of the activities at the community Center. There was always something to do! We loved watching the sunset over the bay and playing volleyball and pickle ball. The pool was enjoyed by all every day. Thanks!

The property is gorgeous, we all loved the house. Cleaning people do need to step up a little more as sliding door tracks and light fixtures are dirty and full of cobwebs. Same as swings on the porch and anything you touch around the grill area. Of all though it was beautiful and when we did all manager they took care of things right away..

First time renting a vacation property. This house was on a quiet street a few blocks from the beach and one block from the sound. We had every room full with Adults down to an Infant in our party. The high chair was a plus - something we didn't think about. Lots of extras were provided - kayaks, grill, beach equipment. Kitchen had everything we needed. Overall a great vacation and good first impression for renting houses.

This property was perfect for our family! We were 7 adults and 5 children ages 6 months to 12 years old. The location was excellent with a short walk on a safe path or a trolley ride (that dropped us off right at the house!), to the beach club. You can drive your car but beware if you don’t go very early, you will not get a parking space. The pool at the house was great!

We booked this property a bit last minute leading up to a highly anticipated summer. The OBX star was a perfect spot for our group of 11 - plenty of space for us all to have our privacy when needed but a nice long dining room table for most our group to eat together ( a couple posted up at the counter - not a problem! ) well stocked kitchen, lovely pool, clean space. The only "negative" we had was all the spiders! It sure if that's the place or Corolla in July, though! Great proximity to beautiful sunsets on the sound, proximity to restaurants/shops, and just a short jaunt to the beach (with a free trolley service to cart you there if you don't want to walk the 7 min!)
Thankyou to the Brindley Beach team for giving our family an unforgettable trip - we will be back!

Loved the location - close to restaurants, the Sound, and Whalehead. Able to see fireworks from balcony - didn't have to drive or walk a long distance. Quiet community. Bedrooms were grouped so that noise was low - families could separate when needed. Big open kitchen plus family room allowed lots of interaction.

From renting, to staying, to leaving (didn’t want to go) everything was great. Had one problem but it was taken care of fast. House was beautiful just like the pictures. Kitchen had everything you will ever need for cooking. The grad kids loved fishing at the sound and ponds at the resort. Walking biking every thing was outstanding. The house is in a great location, close to the sound, beach, the Lighthouse, shops and restaurants. Car traffic is noticeable at times on the side of the house that faces the main road. The interior of the house is a little dated, but has all the basic amenities and was very clean. The property management staff was super friendly and responsive during our stay. Overall, plenty of room for a family to enjoy everything that the Outer Banks offers.

We really enjoyed our stay at OBX Star. We had 2 branches of the family all together, and there was plenty of space within the house, and options for all folks on the property - plus the sound is a block away, and the ocean about a 10 minute walk. Excellent location. We also walked both north & south to restaurants and the large park with the lighthouse. We were off-season, so some items were closed or in restricted hours, but that just meant planning for alternative options.
Overall, very enjoyable property in a terrific location. We will return to OBX. Thanks Vaughn!

My family and had a wonderful time here. The house is very spacious, loved the hot tube and pool. Any questions I had or issuses the owner was always quickly to respond. If I had one complaint the beds could use new mattresses. Overall we loved the house and our stay here, and would come back again!

I chose the OBX Star to host my family because of its proximity to both the sound and beach, and for the amenities it offered, and it did not disappoint. My brother and nephew used the kayaks for their crabbing adventures on the sound, and several of us used the bikes. The sound access is perfect, without paying the premium of being soundfront. We also really enjoyed time at the Corolla Light Resort pool and beachfront food and drink service. We rented golf carts which we drove to the beach, but it is a walkable distance to the ocean. Vaughn the homeowner was always very responsive to my emails and questions. The pictures and description of the house is accurate. While in OBX my husband and I scoped out other locations and homes and decided that we had definitely made the best choice for our family!

Our family was looking for a place where we could hang out during the coronavirus outbreak, where we could have some self-contained fun. The OBX Star definitely fit the bill. Really, the crown jewel of this place is the top floor, which provided an excellent place for the whole family to hang out before, during and after our nightly dinners. The layout was perfect. We took advantage of the bikes that were provided to take a ride to the lighthouse, and used the pool just about daily. We brought a few rafts and water guns. There is a nice propane grill that we used each night, a nice hot tub, and plenty of deck space. Loved it!

this house was the perfect spot for an easy and activity-filled summer vacation. the house was clean and comfortable. the pool was big enough for kids to play in. the upstairs deck was great for watching sunsets, ospreys, and grilling. all of the corolla light amenities were a short walk or bike ride away. we would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at the OBX Star was exactly what we were looking for! We loved having the private pool as well as the hot tub. We ran into a few issues with the quality of the beds as well as the outdoor shower not working, but it did not make enough of an impact on our stay to not recommend this place to any family looking for a relaxing fun vacation!

Great location to both the sound and oceanfront pool complex. Easy walk to shopping and sites. The house was clean and comfortable inside. The kitchen is missing some basic items such as a pitcher, a colander and fish utensils for eating crabs or lobster. The pool was clean and well maintained but the surrounding area and the decks did not appear to have been cleaned prior to our visit. The little refrigerator in the recreation area was unusable due to the buildup of ice. There were lots of games but no DVDs. We had nearly perfect weather so did not spend much time indoors and the location made up for the shortcomings. The owner was very helpful throughout the entire process. The property manager responded to the most important issues by Wednesday.

We vacation on the Outer Banks every other year and have stayed at OBX Star the past three times, which speaks to what we think of the house! But just as important is that it is part of the Corolla Light Resort. We love the convenience of the oceanfront complex - pools, restaurant, food and drink service, beach rentals, and more. We also take advantage of the many tennis courts around the resort and the indoor sports centre to get in a workout or two (and some laps in the pool if it rains). There is no other place like it on the Outer Banks. See you in 2020.
