Went down for a long weekend and although the weather did not cooperate we made the best of it. The home had everything we needed to enjoy a rainy game of games on the covered porch and seating for everyone to enjoy movie night! Love the location to the beach and the conveinent location .

There was a small snafu with cleaning, but that was resolved quickly. The house is in a great location and has some good areas outside on the decks to hang out. I hope to book again in the future!

We loved staying at this home for a full week. The pics don’t do it justice. The outdoor deck is basically a full extra living area. We spent most of waking hours out there. We had some unfortunate weather during our trip but were still able to be outside during the rain because of the deck. The beach is two houses away. House is stocked with everything you need.

For the third year in a row we really enjoyed our stay at the Perfect Getaway. Spent quite a few hours on the back deck admiring the new landscaping- great time had by all!

This house is such a wonderful place to stay in the outer banks. Dean, the owner, was extremely responsive to any and all communication I had with him. They recently completed backyard landscaping which is beautiful. A perfect place for my kids and their cousins to play in the evening in their bare feet. Beautiful grass and no sand or burrs.
Location provides a quick walk to the beach and other local restaurants.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a vacation rental in the outer banks.

The house is as described! Location is great. Short (1 block) and easy walk to beach was super convenient. Easy access to what Kill Devil, Nags Head and Kitty Hawk offer. House was comfortable, and is equipped with most of what you need. Communication with owner was prompt and straightforward. Really enjoyed our trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this beach house! The proximity to the beach is great - 2 minutes maximum. The outside shower is perfect for getting all of the sand off before going in the house. The outside spaces are lovely. The house was very clean and well maintained. We look forward to staying again!

We stayed at this property once several years ago and have always remembered it as one of our favorites. Schedules and timing allowed us to stay again this year and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. Great location, very clean and comfortable house, everything a family could want or need whatever the weather.

We loved this house! Very clean, had everything we needed, the updates were beautiful! Our kids were able to play on the newly laid sod without having to watch out for sand spurs. Right across the street from the beach and a delicious pizza place and in walking distance to a CVS. We had a great time and hope to book again at this house.

We had a lovely time staying in this cottage! The weather wasn’t the best but there were a lot of games to play and so close to shopping and other activities. When it was nice enough to hit the beach, the cottage is so close!! It’s nicely decorated and the fact that it had EVERYTHING and linen service made packing a lot easier….

My son and I stayed here for the OBX Car show. The house was cozy, clean and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking essentials. Very nice home. The flower beds were beautiful and well maintained. Would recommend.

We liked what we saw on the VRBO site and were very happy when we saw our choice. Dean was quick to reply to our questions and on our arrival gave us a dining recommendation that was great. Location was perfect, we went north one day and south the other days. Everything in the home worked and we had no problems there. We had plenty of room for the 4 of us to have nice, comfortable space. Very close to see the sunrise. We could definitely rent this again.

The house met all of our needs and it was so hard to leave yesterday. The 2 minute walk to the beach is exactly correct. Also walkable to many restaurants and the all important CVS. What struck me as different from every other beach house is the cleanliness of the outdoor areas (decks, carport, outside shower, outside storage closet). There was not a single cobweb or spider web to be found. Complete comfort using the outdoor areas. I will definitely stay here again.

They house was perfect, clean, functioning and goodness it’s just like the pictures! It was a short walk to the beach and surrounding areas in walking distance. The property owner was so nice and even gave a few websites to enhance our stay with rentals and activities. I would definitely recommend and be back! Thank you so much!

We had a great stay! Everything was accurately described and checking in was a breeze. The owner is very responsive and really nice so that was very appreciated. Also, he did a nice job with the colors and decorations he chose, and it made you feel like you were at the beach. We loved the outdoor deck and enjoyed eating dinner outside. Also, my favorite spot on the deck was the swing! :). Another plus was the outdoor shower. It looked great and I truly enjoyed using it. All in all, it was the perfect beach getaway. I would stay here again!

This house was perfect for us. It was located in walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The communication with the host was on point. The house was, on the surface, clean but the decor pillows on the bed were stained as were the sheets. The coffee pot was filthy and the inside of the drawers were in need of a good cleaning. Loved the patio. We spent most of our time out there. Would def stay again.

Had a wonderful vacation at the Perfect Getaway for a second year in a row! Lots of great memories were created. This place has the perfect location, close to the beach and everything you need is close by! We really enjoyed ourselves once again!

This house was perfection!!! It was clean, comfortable, well setup, and in a great location. We walked 2 mins to the beach every day (we saw dolphins while at the beach 3 days in a row). Places to eat and ice cream are in walking distance. Nice quiet neighborhood. The decks were amazing, nice place to eat and relax. The outdoor shower was clean and super convenient with 3 kids. This was definitely one of our favorite vacations and it all centered around the perfect vacation house.

Myself and my three friends stayed here for a week in July and had the most wonderful time! The beach access can't be beat, and we had everything we needed to be comfortable, from towels and blankets to the blender and toaster oven! The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated! We spoke with a family from another rental site who had a terrible experience, and we couldn't say enough good things about ours- so happy to have found this rental!!

When I say this is the perfect house I literally mean it. My family of 6 adults stayed here for a blissful 7 days. It is a 90 second walk from the door to a beautiful beach that goes for miles either way you look. There are two full bathrooms in the house and a fully functioning super clean waterfall head outdoor shower downstairs in the driveway / covered garage area. LOOOOVEEE. There is also a 3/4 wrap around AMAZINGLY PEACEFUL deck with a swing chair I couldnt move myself from in the morning and the night with coffee and a book. AND THEN you also have another upper private super sunning deck. This is such a great house in the most perfect location - out the front door is not only the beach but a family bar and grill, a pizza place, cvs, walgreens, and starbucks all in walking distance. I cannot wait to go back.

We looked for an owner managed property for this trip, which was myself and spouse, two elementary age daughters and my mom. It was clear that this house is a home, little details that show it's well cared for (and has been beautifully updated and decorated) and it's set up for living in: washer and dryer, extra towels, night lights, plenty of blankets and pillows, a laundry basket, spices and paper towels in the kitchen. We thoroughly appreciated the details that Dean included in this house. The outdoor spaces were easy to use, loved the outdoor table and the easy chairs. We walked to the beach every day, one street to cross at a crosswalk to the public access: it REALLY is two minutes to the beach. We drove to many other sites, including Hatteras and Manteo, easy to access anything we wanted to do. Especially convenient for Wright Brothers memorial and Jockey's Ridge!
Thank you for being easy to reach (we loved not needing to carry a key with the style of lock you've installed) but also setting everything up so that we didn't have to reach you! We will look for this listing again when we return to KDH.

This is our third time staying at this beach cottage. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. The communication from Dean was wonderful. The cottage is in a great location with a short easy walk to the beach and a few restaurants/ice cream. The outdoor shower made cleaning our 4 kids off after a trip to the beach really easy. Our favorite part of the home is the nice covered porch with a swing and several chairs and large table. It’s perfect for relaxing anytime of day. Thank you for a great stay!

Enjoyed our stay and house was true to description and pictures. The new deck areas were a fabulous plus, especially the covered deck when inclement weather or to enjoy morning coffee. Short walk to beach and several restaurants within walking distance.

This property is small but was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The outside decks r nice. Property seems in good repair. They don’t provide a lot of the little “extras” other places do. It’s a great location. The only complaint I have is cleanliness. It was clean, but not quite as clean as other places I’ve stayed. It wasn’t enough to deter me from staying here again. Just think cleaners could b a bit more thorough.

Stopped for a few days on a road trip with the family. The house had everything you needed. Very cozy, but a lot of space to enjoy the outdoors. Lucky we had nice weather and got a chance to enjoy the deck. Also perfect location to visit Kitty Hawk, Corolla, Duck and Nags head which are right up Virginia Dare. Many great restaurants near by and a few walking distance. The beach entrance is a 5 min walk from the front door and very quiet spot.

Great property in a perfect location for tweens/teens. We were able to walk to rent bikes for the week and use the bikes for the week instead of drive. One block from the beach, and close to restaurants, shopping and site seeing locations.
The house is charming and we loved our time on the back porch and upper deck. We look forward to coming back!
