We had a great stay at the Green House. It has a nice large deck that we enjoyed spending time relaxing and barbequing on. I was out boarding just down the street, and an otter was just hanging out in the water with me, after he left 2 dolphins swam by, great beach. I recommend this house to any family looking for a fun relaxing vacation. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed here with our two teens and a few of their friends and our dogs. Such a great place for us to hang in between fancy family lunch at the Crows nest and casual teen beach hang/ bonfire. Prefect location and great property. The hosts were very friendly and supportive. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again

The green house was a perfect house for my family! It was walking distance to two of our favourite beaches. Beach towels, sand toys, beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and even a wagon to tote all of it to the beach were provided. There is a place to store your bikes and your own beach things behind a locked gate. There is a beautiful deck that is wonderful to have coffee on or an evening drink. The inside has great space if it’s too chilly outside. We love this house!

Probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The house was very fun and unique. We enjoyed being close to the beach. The house had pretty much everything we would need. I have stayed in many places that do not have simple items such as glasses to drink from. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked most days we stayed. The deck was a really nice space to hang out. We loved that there was off street parking and a place to keep our mountain bikes secure. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home.

This is a wonderful, large, comfortable house…the photos do not show how big the rooms are…it is so amazing with the location, easy access, more than ample parking, huge kitchen, appliances that are great, stocked with all your cooking needs..colorful camellias surrounding the kitchen. The frontroom is huge, cozy seating, bathroom with washer&dryer, bedrooms with closets a movie star would love, the main bathroom is large, fabulous shower, spa tub, small sauna. The bedrooms have comfortable beds with nice bedding and extra comforters. The deck is beautiful and surrounds the front, wraps down to stairs that lead to high fenced dog yard.
We walked to the beach everyday, found wonderful restaurants within walking distance.
The Owner Kim is the nicest person, accommodating and her property reflects it. The Property Manager Nancy is such amazing with her Customer Service and warmth as well..
My whole family raved about The Green House and want to go back again. It’s the only place that has All Family Members with a Thumbs Up. There were 4 of us who stayed, but we had 8 for dinner and played board games…Barbeque is easy, professional size..

A unique home

My wife and our for babies loved it.
My wife and our for babies loved it. The house is unique, fun, and very relaxing. It has a beautiful large deck. The location is minutes away walking distance to the beach. The owner has thought of everything, Boogie boards, poop bags, toys for the kids to play in the sand, a crib, Band-Aids, everything you could possibly need for your stay. She and her friend Nancy are very responsive. And there is a young couple renting the other part of the house who are very nice and will help you with whatever you need.

Fantastic & Charming
This is our second stay at the Greenhouse as we loved our first stay so much. It's just the neatest house with lots of room, amenities and nooks and crannies. The owner - Kim - is delightful and incredibly accommodating. Kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils, pots, pans, ect. Use of boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels and even doggie bags are included. The main bathroom has a dual rain shower and a jetted spa. There are two additional half baths. Walking distance to Blacks Beach and we went there daily. An excellent value that captures the charming quirkiness of Santa Cruz while still providing all of the comforts of an upscale rental. We will be back!

Wonderful Vacation Home
We loved staying at the Big Green House! So much room for our family of 7 to spread out from the large kitchen to the big living area to the amazing huge deck!!! The house was completely supplied with everything needed for a great week of relaxing, cooking, going to the beach, etc. . The location was perfect...short walk to a beautiful beach, wonderful market nearby, walking distance to Twin Lakes beach, close to restaurants and shops. It was just great! And, Kim the owner lives on the property!! Wonderful person...right there if we needed anything! She was amazing!!! Loved the beautiful dalias in the yard. It was the best and we plan to return next summer!!!

Great family getaway.
Perfect for our group getaway with my spouse and our two adult kids and their partners. Lovely large main space with comfortable seating with large windows to large outdoor deck space. Also enjoyed very well outfitted kitchen/ dining room where our group could cook and hang out together. Things to know: only one full bath (clearly indicated on listing) but it was very large and nicely appointed and with two other half baths, worked great for our group. Also, the 3rd bedroom is up a narrow steep stair ( also clearly indicated in the listing) but as it has its own half bath, was a lovely private space. The other bedrooms included a very large and beautiful master and a very nice hall bedroom, with additional bunk beds that we did not use but would be great for families with younger kids. The outdoor space is a very large deck with lots of seating and both gas and charcoal grills. The house was well outfitted with a big beach umbrella, lots of beach chairs, beach towels and boogie boards as well as a wagon to cart the gear down to the beach, all greatly appreciated. The beach is an easy walk just over a block at the end of 14th street, that is part of twin lakes beach extending all the way to the harbor, and was beautiful, long, and clean beach that we all really enjoyed. Overall great stay and just what we were looking for.

My family and I spent a week at The Green House and had a great time. The house is extremely clean and the kitchen has absolutely everything you need, but the real star is the host, Kim. Quissential Santa Cruz charm
Highly recommended. The pictures don't really capture the full charm of this property. Super comfortable beds, great large bathroom, more places to play hide and seek than you've ever seen in a house this size, fantastic deck, and only 1 block to Twin Lakes beach. Walking distance to food and coffee shops. Great, communicative owner who provides all the amenities and I can't wait to return!

unique, clean, convenient, friendly
We stayed at the green house for a family get together. The common rooms are very roomy and comfortable and it was well supplied and very clean. The place has a lot of character. it is in a great location, within a short walk of several restaurants, a coffee house, a brewpub and the farmer's market. Sleeping accommodations were comfortable. The owner is friendly and responsive.
This place is not for everyone as it has a lot of stairs and some are quite steep. It also only has one bathroom that has a shower/tub. This wasn't a problem for us but might be for others. Enjoy the green house!

Our experience at the Green House
This is a gorgeous house with beautiful knotty pine interior and a huge deck. The rooms are generous and comfy. Black's Beach is at the end of 14th Avenue - great waves and a life guard, But the real jewel of this rental is the owner, Kim Cupp. She made us feel at home throughout our stay. FYI there is a large gas BBQ that doesn't show in the photos.

Lovely home waking distance to the Beach
First of all, we were greeted with fresh cut flowers on the dining table as well as dog treats for our little four legged kids. The house was just as advertised. Clean and welcoming. Great instruction to all of the homes intricacies. Short 1 bock walk to the beach, in a quite neighborhood.

We had a great stay at the Green House. It has a nice large deck that we enjoyed spending timing relaxing and barbequing on. The first day we walked down to the beach to find a baby whale swimming in the waves, it was amazing. I recommend this house to any family looking for a fun relaxing vacation. Can't wait to go back!

Loved The Green House
We highly recommend this beach house! The Green House was very charming and spacious. Our family felt very comfortable for our week in Santa Cruz. The owner thought of everything...the house was very well stocked with everything we needed. Our grandkids loved playing with the toys...our dog loved having access to the yard...and the grown ups loved relaxing and cooking in the large kitchen. The shower room and humongous tub was a hit with all. We walked to the beach everyday...was an easy stroll down the block. Thank you Kim!

Great surprise
We stayed here for a week with a bunch of family. There was 3 couples and a baby in the house and it never felt crowded or loud at all. The house is waaay bigger than it seems in the pictures. Took us about 3 days to get used to the layout as it's a bit like a maze, in a fun way. The place was well stocked with everything you might need. The property has a huge driveway. We managed to fit a large RV on it as well as three cars. The owner does allow RVs for a small fee. It was about 7min walk to the beach at the end of the road. Very quiet neighbourhood. The owner was responsive to emails and calls. We had an issue with where we parked the RV (the renters at the neighbouring property, also owned by this owner, didn't like it). The owner was apologetic and her and the live-in caretaker in this house helped us work out a solution.
The only downsides I can think of for the property is that its upstairs (didn't bother us) and that there are some low ceilings here and there from the roof line. We're all quite tall so we banged our heads a few times before getting the gist of it. Definitely recommend this place and for the price, it's a great value.

Exceeded Expectations!
My family is well-versed in staying at rental homes whenever we travel. We prefer them to hotels so that we can avoid eating every meal out, and cooking our meals becomes part of the whole travel experience. Our expectations are based on what we've experienced over the years, and while most places reasonably meet our expectations, The Green House far exceeded them for several reasons.
First, the owner is wonderfully personable. Even though we never met in person, I got the feeling she was with us in spirit! We ran into heavy traffic our first night and arrived very late. I sent a message to her mentioning this, and she went to the house to make sure there were plenty of lights on when we arrived. We also found a *personalized* letter waiting for us, describing the things we needed to know about staying there, as well as freshly cut flowers in a vase on the table. This is just the first of many nice little touches we experienced during our stay.
This is not just a place to sleep - The Green House is a destination in itself! The house was well-equipped for our stay. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and all the extras in order to prepare many types of meals. We appreciated the detail that went into the design of the house, as well as all of the beautiful antique pieces that many people may overlook,such as an old-fashioned ice box. The house has plenty of room for two families to stay comfortably, and it offers a big grill on a large deck with plenty of room to roam. The kids absolutely loved the shower "room" and found The Green House to be quite a magical experience. The beach is only a short walk away and the Boardwalk is a short drive.
Usually when we return to any particular location, we find a new house to rent for another new experience. In this case, for future visits to Santa Cruz, we will always check on the availability of The Green House before we make any other choices. This is the first time I can enthusiastically say that I looking forward to staying there again!!
