We loved staying at Carolina Comfort. The house was clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious, private, and had an amazing view. The location was great for hiking in GSMNP, a day trip to Asheville and whitewater rafting. Would definitely return!

Property was just as awesome as advertised! Loved the views and all the amenities here within the Carolina Comfort residence! Had some great fun with some ping pong, horseshoe pit was awesome. They offered cards and other board games. House was fully furnished and plenty to offer. The WiFi here was very wonky which would be my biggest gripe. They had plenty of extension it seemed however for the most part I could not watch or stream anything over my phone/tablets on 720p up. Might be some room to grow there if thats feasible for the place. Only one tv in the location, would be cool to see a TV down in the ping ping room/Bar area. Jacuzzi/hot tub was awesome. We had a small problem with getting temperatures up and the host got us in contact with their hot tub guy at 11PM at night and got us running. Super cool to help us out! Loved our stay and would highly recommend!!

The stay was amazing. Only problem we had was there was not any curtains to the windows in the living area and kitchen. I understand the view is amazing but I think we should have had an option. Besides that. Everything was wonderful.

Excellent location, neighborhood, and views! The reason for my somewhat negative review is simply due to many issues. I will give the facts and you can be the judge. My family was very excited for this trip. The weather unfortunately got extreme. 1st night was -10°F. Anticipating issues, I reached out to Dave asking if we had to do anything upon arrival due to extreme cold. I was assured that we would have no issues with the cabin and I just needed 4-wheel drive. We arrived later that week, late in the afternoon. Tired, we went to sleep soon after unpacking. My boys are 2 and 4 years old. My 2 year-old woke up in the middle of the night repeating over and over that he was cold. When I woke up, I realized it was very cold in the cabin. The thermostat, set to 65°, read 53°F. My son was pale blue. I wrapped him in a wool blanket to keep him warm and went to find out what happened to the heat. The auxiliary heat was broken. The breaker kept tripping. We lit both fireplaces to aid in the heating of the house. I also went to start a warm bath so we could warm them up. The water wasn’t running. After a few hours of running the fireplace, it started to produce smoke inside the house. So we turned it off. We thought about using the hot tub to warm up, but didn’t have a way to rinse the chemicals afterwards, so we couldn’t do that. I reached out to Dave. Communication was a bit slow at first. Considering the situation was pretty serious, I would’ve expected more attention to the issues. Dave made a 4 hour trip out to the cabin since we weren’t getting anyone to repair it soon enough. Dave mentioned that owning a VRBO is sometimes a headache due to false alarm calls about issues. So I understand his hesitation in giving us full attention. After meeting with us, communication and desire to help was greatly improved. Unfortunately, Dave couldn’t get anyone to fix the water until the night before we were scheduled to leave, the heat was not repaired before our departure and the fireplace was damaged and could not be used. Dave offered a refund if we left. We did look into this but with such short notice, there wasn’t any options for my family. We had to rent a hotel room so we could shower, the neighbor provided 5 gal buckets so we could flush toilets, and we had to make countless trips to a creek to fill them. We accidentally overstayed by 1 night. We were given 1 out of 6 nights refund & no charge extra night. I asked if that was honestly fair. No reply!

The Carolina Comfort was perfect for our party of 6. The cabin had absolutely everything we needed. Each couple had there own floor and bathroom. The fire wood was definitely provided. The owner response and communication was excellent. We had a blast for our weekend getaway. Will definitely remember this location and would definitely use again. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home!

This was the cleanest and nice cabin I have yet to have had the pleasure to stay in. Check in was good and convenient. All the rooms was spacious and the beds was so comfortable. Everything you need and want was available and in the cabin . I loved the fireplace and the hot tub on the balcony. And believe it we actually got in the hot tub and it was light 30 degrees outside but the hot tub felt like it was a summer day. We didn’t want to leave😔. I asked for a late check and they replied and gave it to us. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CABIN you will enjoy it so so much. We would love to come back in the month of December it would be the idea place to stay for Christmas. I will plan on coming back very very soon. And I’m still telling family and friends about this absolutely gorgeous cabin… definitely a must stay again and we my family and I will be coming back very soon. TWO THUMBS UP!!!!

This a a beautiful cabin with beautiful views. You will need 4WD to get to the cabin year round.

This was our third stay in Carolina Comfort, which always lives up to its name - the best view you can possibly find, a large home to house all of the family (in our case, from ages 77 to 18 months), without sacrificing privacy, and everything you need for a successful, memory-making vacation for everyone! Thanks, Dave, once again.

The listing was just as described, the property was perfect and the views were breath taking. Do not slow down on the gravel road though. But the property felt like we were alone on a mountain top. Maggie Valley was only a few minutes away. Perfection I would go again.

House is in an amazing location with superb views. It's a very quiet "neighborhood" and the house has great amenities. Our only comment would be that the screens on some of the windows have holes in them so opening windows wasn't always an option. This did not affect the fact that we love the property and hope to return!

Stayed here 3 nights/4 days for a bachelor party and everyone had a great time. Only 20 min away from Harrahs Casino and other hole in the walls. Dave is very responsive and gave the instructions for everything. 4WD/AWD vehicles are highly recommended.

This cabin offered great views and comfortable spaces for two families with young children. Close to skiing and other nearby attractions. Owners are responsive and informative.

We played in the snow all day. Then hit the hot tub. House had everything we needed! Tube world was fun and super close.

Property was nice but hot tub would not get hot. Tried calling owner several times but no response. For the price we paid it should have been handled differently. My family was disappointed about the hot tub not working but enjoyed the house.

House is secluded and with wet road our first approach to the house was tricky, when the sign says low gear or 4x4 it’s no joke. We did encounter some housekeeping & maintenance issues but Dave was very responsive to take care of things and great as our host. We had 8 guests and seating in living area couldn’t accommodate us comfortably to watch the only TV in the house. Overall we enjoyed our visit to Carolina Comfort.

After the long trip it was well worth the time. The views are absolutely incredible of the mountains. The cabin was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities you need. Enjoyed several nights by the fire pit with family. The area was very peaceful and quiet.

The property was fantastic and quiet with great views. The road up was not hard at all, especially after the first time as you knew where you were going. The rooms were spacious and had all the needed amenities. The kitchen was well stocked. The downstairs fireplace was a bit weird (for us) as it didn't have a vent that we could see and left a bit of an aroma if it was on, so we chose not to use it. The fire pit is nice, although a bit difficult to sit around it on some sides as it is on a hill. The game room with ping pong is an added treat with both a beer and wine refrigerator (and second fireplace that we never used). Great place.
