The apartment is HUGE and extremely CLEAN! Perfect for a family trip in the center of Matera. We liked that we didn’t book anything in the old city center, since here we were 5min away by foot from it, but also had our car parked in a garage near by.

A bit outdated, but since it is very clean and the bedrooms are renovated, I would say that shouldn’t worry you.

Spotlessly clean apartment and generous host. Would stay here again.

Ideal location very closed to the historical part of Matera. Welcome refreshment (sparkling wine, bisquits, coffee). Safe private parking place. Big comfortable flat for our family. Perfect introduction from the local staff (Domenico).

Our host was promptly there at the arrival time, he waited patiently for us to get the car from a public parking spot, and when we arrived into the apt. he welcomed us with instructions, and thoughtful gifts. He also provided us with info on dinner restaurants, and the one we were able to get into was exceptional.

It was a bit challenging to get information re arrival timing, but we feel his was due to technology issues, and our lack of Italian.

Our host, Domenico, was very nice and helpful. The apartment was spacious, with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms as well as a kitchen. It should be noted that one of the bedrooms is open to the living room and that cooking is not allowed in the kitchen. These were not a problem for us, however. Breakfast is not included, but I understand that it can be provided for a modest cost. However, we did not order breakfast because they did not have gluten free bread. It was very convenient to have an elevator (lift) in the building. The apartment is located a short walk from the Sassi (the historical district). We enjoyed lunch at Ohime and a fabulous, delicious, and upscale dinner at Ego Restaurant. Both are about a block or so from the apartment.

The mattress in the front bedroom was not that comfortable. (We didn’t ask our friend about the other bed.) The pillows were too hard and flat for our taste. Also, would be nice to have two pillows per person. Otherwise everything was fine.

The apartment was exceptionally clean, large, and comfortable. It is a five-minute walk to the Sassi and the most central areas of Matera. The host was exceedingly helpful.
