What a great house! The beachfront location made it so easy to come and go to the beach at our leisure. The view from the porch is spectacular! We elected not to watch TV or listen to music as we were mesmerized by the sound of crashing waves just outside our door. The house was beautiful and well set up. The pictures shown on line do not do it justice. It is obvious that the owners are proud of the house and take great care to make sure the renters have a wonderful experience. The rental company did an excellent job with communications and keeping us informed of anything we needed to know. This was our first visit to Edisto. We are already making plans to return and will schedule it around the availability of this house.

This was by far the best beach home we’ve stayed in. The best part is without opening any windows or doors, you can hear the crashing waves. Coming from the mountains, this was a real treat, and natural lullaby while sleeping. The home was well equipped with all you need to prepare gourmet meals. We enjoyed the large covered deck overlooking that beautiful beach and vast ocean. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We’ll definitely be back!

A wonderful house with a covered back porch very close to the ocean!

Enjoyed our visit very much. This is the first house our family has ever rented and if the occasion should ever arise again, I feel sure we would first to see if Sandy Bottoms was available

Well we always try to find different locations to go on vacation but we may have found our go to spot. This house and location were amazing. The house is beautifully decorated and was very clean when we arrived. Everything worked fine and we had everything we needed in the house. The best part of this house is the location, right on the beach and the ocean can be seen from just about every room in the house except the two front roadside bedrooms. You can actually hear the ocean at night in the front bedrooms when everything is silent inside. The covered porch facing the ocean is one of the best places here, we stayed there a lot because you feel like you are sitting on the beach from here. Amazing property that will not disappoint! We had to cut our vacation short because of Hurricane Ian but that's ok we found our spot and can't wait to go back soon! The host was very responsive when we had a question and were extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if your looking for that perfect vacation spot.

The location of this rental is optimal just a few steps and your on the beach Edisto Beach is a quiet little community that allowed for some much needed downtime The managers of this property are attentive to your needs and called back quickly when needed

My husband and I wanted to have a few days away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We have always loved Edisto and have visited almost every year with relatives who live in the area. This year we wanted a place on the water with all the amenities, and room for our granddaughters to come and visit with their parents. Somehow I lucked out in finding a time that would work and a home that was appealing. We were not prepared for the beauty and comfort of the house until we opened the door. The house is very clean and comfortable, and it is flawlessly decorated with an appropriate beach-y theme. Four bedrooms with Jack and Jill bathrooms between them make for efficient use of space. Modern appliances provide for the renters’ needs. The fabulous beach is right outside the front, only a few footsteps (30) away. The deck extends further than surrounding houses, so your view is unobstructed in either direction. Shelling, beach combing, and bird watching have been great but the biggest treat came this morning about 10:30 when a large pod of dolphins entertained us by feeding right off shore. The fishing must have been successful because they continued, competing with the pelicans, for almost an hour. Being here for a week gave our two children time enough to bring our three granddaughters here for a visit. The girls were delighted to be at the beach and have time to play with each other. They have begged for another week at this great home, so we are ready to reserve a week in the early Spring. No other place will satisfy any of us after Sandy Bottoms. Thank you for this wonderful getaway. Ten stars if it were possible!

When I requested the need to repair a board on the stairs leading to the house, I was calling the wrong number. As soon as I called Edisto Beach Rentals, the repairman was out in less than an hour. He not only fixed that one step but reinforced all of them. I plan to book the house for next year and will set up the payment immediately to insure that I am able to get it. We loved the house with its location on the beach. The town is great and not so commercialized. We did have to scramble for dinner when a couple of the restaurants couldn’t take any more orders but understandable. Will definitely be back to this beautiful island!

We loved staying at Sandy Bottoms and are thankful that the owners shared their beautiful oceanfront home with us. The layout was fantastic! We had 10 people that stayed with us and we never felt crowded. The porch is amazing and further out than many of the neighboring porches so the view is the best. The beds were very comfortable (a little squeaky but nothing to whine about). One of my favorite things, other than the porch, was the very large family table with two benches on either side. We could fit all 10 of us at the table for games and family dinners. We cooked crab legs on the porch and also shrimp that you can get fresh off the boat at Edisto Seafood off Docksite Rd. There were a few books about Edisto island there that I enjoyed reading among others. There were also some games but they were in somewhat of jumbled mess as if younger children had gotten into them and the adults didn't put them back like they should have. We brought our own games so this wasn't an issue for us and everything may have been there but I didn't organize it to see. This was probably from the previous renters and no fault of the owners or agency. Renters should treat these homes and items in them with respect and, unfortunately, sometimes they do not. We were able to see a turtle hatchling hatch, found sharks teeth, made multiple runs for ice-cream from the little strip of shops, visited botany bay (Beautiful!), went fishing straight out from the house and caught a few things (brought rods and lures and bought squid and shrimp from the bait store off docksite road), went crabbing off of the "sound" right before Big Bay Creek (brought our own net, crab hook/weights on a string and bought our bait at the same bait shop), and enjoyed lunch at SeaCow, as well as Briny Swine. SeaCow was fantastic and had a surf shop and a children's store right there with it. Briny Swine was enjoyable but I would try some of the other restaurants before returning there. The kids (teens and young adults) found nice vacation shirts and other nice items at the small strip of stores there. We rented our linens from where they suggested and they were there when we arrived. We planned our dinners and brought with us in storage Tupperware as much groceries and snacks as we could. Then, we bought the rest at the Food Lion which was often very busy and quite small, so I was very glad we did. It was safe enough to let our older children walk the nearby blocks. For those that play Pokemon Go there were lots of gyms, pokestops and pokemon to be caught. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we plan to book again for next year. I will be very sad when we outgrow this house with grandchildren! If the owners read this review, thank you again for sharing your lovely home with us!

We had a wonderful relaxing week. So convenient being right on the Ocean. House is laid out perfectly for us and watching the dolphins from the porch was a treat. Plenty of parking, bathrooms were clean, kitchen was great.

Best vacation ever

We love this house and have stayed here many times. The layout of the house is perfect and there just can't be a better view. My personal favorite is the huge porch right on the water. My goodness, I want to live there!

Our first time at Edisto Beach and will likely return again next year. The home was in a great location with great sunrise and sunset views. Our furry friends loved the porch as did we. The only complaint I have is the cleanliness mainly with the kitchen and the floors. I’m sure there are weeks in the off season where not all weeks are rented. Housekeeping should return to prior to guest arrival to ensure it is “ready”. I would rent again and am thankful that my 2 small dogs are welcome. The house was great! The view even better!! The whole family was impressed with the location and house! Would rent again! But - you might want to check on the cleaning crew.... overall clean .... but had to clean a few things ourselves with some dust.

We rented this house with 4 adults and 2 kids and loved it! The house is spacious with nice furnishings. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots, skillets to cook at the house. The beach was quiet and clean, with tons of shells and lots of room to walk and play in the water. Highly recommend this home and Edisto Beach if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation away from the crowds.

We loved the place...Loved walking in and seeing the ocean.... We will stay again...Can watch the ocean from the couch!! However it was not clean...Found empty water bottles...Kleenex...etc...tubs had rings of dirt around them... Next time will request a cleaning if its this way again....

The property was clean, very comfortable, well laid out, easy access to everything, and the view was fantastic. When you walk in the front door of the home, you look right out to the beach and ocean. A row of rocking chairs and picnic table sit on the deck, plenty of outdoor protected seating with a fantastic view. inside the home I really like the layout. Bedrooms in the 4 corners of the home, separated by bathrooms, and the whole middle of the home is wide open. Kitchen/dining/living room is one open space, making it great for families to gather. Its great having the outdoor shower to clean off from the beach before going inside. The kitchen is completely stocked with every utensil, dish, pot pan, plate you can imagine- to cook right from the house, or there is a nice listing provide by the owner of local eats on the island. Try the SeaCow for breakfast at least once! AWESOME! The Owner texted before we arrived just to make sure everything was suited and then texted after we left to ensure we had a great time. So they are available if you need them and respond very promptly, which was great to know, but we never had any issues with the home as it is maintained with care. We will be back and will rent this property again. Had an amazing time!

This was our 2nd stay at Sandy Bottoms and we are booking year 3. We go in September which is heaven, almost feels like we have our own private beach! This house is super comfortable, but the porch across the back is our favorite spot. I don't think we had the TV on even once the entire week. We love to cook and the kitchen is super spacious with plenty of counter space and is very well stocked with pots and pans. Can't wait to come back this year!

We rented Sandy Bottoms for the last week in April this year. The weather was perfect. When we walked into the house we felt like we were on a cruise ship as the home was soooo close to the water! Sliding doors ran the entire width of the home and you just had to stop every time you came in the house to marvel at Gods beauty!! We as well as our friends had a beautiful oceanfront master with private access to the gorgeous covered porch that ran the length of the house. We each had a small but adequate bathroom, and used the back bedrooms to store our suitcases and clothes! That was a treat. The setup of the bathrooms were a little awkward and a mirror on the inside of the door would have been helpful. One of the rocking chairs was broken when we arrived. They fixed it, but it broke again. It needs to be replaced. Both of the couches really need to be replaced as they are quite soiled and the cushions are worn. The kitchen was really nice and had every appliance,gadget, pot, pan, dish and glass wear you could want!! We trails hated to leave and even with the updating that needs to be done, we are already in the process of renting it again next year!!!!!!!! For the money and location we think Sandy Bottoms is a great value and can't wait for our next visit⛱👣👙🌞🍷🐠🐠🐬🐟🐳🐋🐚🌊

It has been years since we have been able to go on vacation. We finally decided to go on "spring Break" It was the best decision we made. We took our 2 young boys and another family with 1 boy. It is a great house for families with small children, really for any family. We enjoyed being able to step right out on the beach especially with kids. We would recommend this home to anyone. This home is even more beautiful, the ocean much closer, the sunsets more spectacular, the design more vacation friendly, than we ever thought possible looking at the pictures. The days spent there, were better than we've enjoyed in over 31 years of renting beachfront homes from MD to LA. The owners have thought of everything. A trouble free, relaxing time was had by all.
