We had an amazing stay at Kanaloa at Kona . The owners were very extremely responsive when the TV wasn't working sent someone right away to address it. Our vacation was excellent. The only feedback I'd give is that the beach gear needs to be replaced. The single boogie board is falling apart and can't be used, the chairs were more lawn chairs than beach chairs and there was no umbrella which is a must have. We were only 2 people but seeing as up to 6 can stay, there were only 2 very old rusted beach chairs in additions to the 2 "more lawn than beach" chairs so if 6 were staying, 2 people wouldn't have chairs at all. This is different than other condos we have stayed in which were very well stocked with Tommy Bahamas chairs, boogies boards etc...It also doesn't make sense given past reviews about the gear so felt like something wasn't right. We ended up using none of it and using gear from our friends' condo that was exceptionally well stocked (staying in a different rental unit in same complex). We left behind a floatie we bought from Costco for the pool for the next renters. It wasn't an issue for us to not have beach gear but I am not sure if something happened between rentals as other than the coolers and the sand toys, the equipment in the closet on the Lanai was not as new and functional as described by previous reviews. I am guessing something got switched somewhere. ln the end, it was still a 5 star stay for us as the unit is comfortable and wonderfully located. The owners were super responsive and kind. The views are spectacular as is the proximity to the ocean view pool and barbeque. We would definitely stay again but would recommend the beach equipment be updated and/or the mystery solved especially for those who don't have friends travelling with them. That or find out if your gear got moved somewhere else by accident.

Just stayed here for 28 days. I highly recommend this condo unit. Is very well stocked with just about everything you would need, is clean and everything works, beds are comfortable, view of ocean and sunsets are glorious, owner is promptly available for questions, and property is well maintained. Great place to stay.

A lovely stay at a very roomy property with excellent lanai and beautiful sunset view from lanai. We enjoyed the pool conveniently located right outside the unit. Gated entry to property. Bring tennis racquets.

We stayed here with two adults and two teens and had a great time. The condo was clean and nicely updated. The grounds and pool areas were nicely maintained and very quiet after dark. The sunset view from the lanai was even better than we expected. The building is conveniently located near shopping and Keauhou Bay activities. Owner was excellent with communication. Overall, this was a great stay!

Beautiful view of the ocean and pool area, clean, up to date, kitchen is well stocked. Pool towels provided. Easy parking. Close to grocery store and easy access to Kona.

The home had many amenities. There were plenty of towels. It was wonderful to have a washer and a dryer. There were beach towels, beach toys, and if you needed them - a high chair, Pack and Play, and a booster car seat, as well as two baby gates to block off stairs. The lanai is a beautiful spot facing the ocean. The view is exactly as the pictures portray. The kitchen is well stocked. All of the appliances worked great. When you enter the condo, there is a flight of stairs up to the main living area with that beautiful view! The grounds are beautifully maintained. The location on the island was good. There is a shopping center just down the street with a Long's and a big grocery store. A beautiful spot for an extended vacation.

We stayed at this condo for 3 nights. It fit our family of 6 very well. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The location on the property was ideal- close to the pools and tennis courts and bbq! Not to mention the view from the lanai... amazing! Loved the large master bath with rain showers. The condo was very clean which I really appreciated. AC in August was very nice helped us sleep. We had so much fun and made great memories- thank you!

Beautiful property - easy access to pools, and tennis (ask to have lights turned on) amazing sunsets from lanai!

The condo was large and beautifully situated with a view of the pool and the ocean beyond. We all appreciated the air conditioning and loved lounging by the pool with the ocean waves crashing as our view. There is a grocery store and many restaurants .4 miles away. Great spot for a Hawaiian vacation!

Excellent location and amenities

I highly recommend this well managed condo which is well situated near Kona with a lanai view that cannot be beat. Our family all had enough space and enjoyed the amenities of the property but most of all loved having our meals on the lanai watching the sunsets which were different each night. The condo is well situated for privacy. Thank you to the owners for providing such a lovely place for vacationing on the Big Island!

This place was in such a sweeeeeet location! Away from Kona but close enough for Mai Tai Happy Hour and an easy walk or drive to the Outrigger to see the mantas. Very cool beach to walk to and wonderful sunsets from the rocks. Shade on the lanai all day, amazing view of the ocean and supremely easy pool access. A/C throughout, spacious and lovely. Our best trip to HI, in big part to this place

We had a wonderful time at your beautiful condo on Kona. Everything went perfect and the condo was very well equipped and we ran out of nothing. The view from the deck was spectacular and we spend all our condo time out there. I highly recommend this location when you visit the area.

This was a great place to stay on the Big Island. The view from the lanai is lovely, looking over the pool to the black rocks and ocean. Being right next to the ocean is fantastic. The tennis courts are right across the street. We played ping-pong outside of the community building and golfed at the nearby course. Grocery shopping is close by, downtown Kona is a short drive, as are various beaches and parks. A real gem is the small black sand and rocks beach about a block away. The condo is nicely decorated, well-equipped, and clean, with several places to sit (including the lanai) and hang out. We used their beach stuff (towels, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc.), which was handy. Had some really nice sunsets! The loft (third bedroom) is less private than the bedrooms, but it worked okay for us. Minor suggestion: The pictures could do a better job of describing the overall layout - including the two main bedrooms (I assumed they were upstairs; a picture of the hallway leading to the washer/dryer and bedrooms would be nice), the initial stairs from the front door (some people would want to know they have to go up/down stairs every time they come and go), and the third "bedroom," which is really a loft (the pictures should show the curtains open and closed).

We very much enjoyed our stay in Kona at this property and loved the Lanai! The Lanai was comfortable both in the morning for breakfast and coffee and in the evening for dinner and sunset. My reason for less than a 5 star rating is no elevator (we traveled heavy due to the length of our stay on several islands), bedrooms not facing ocean side and lack of beach to walk (I spend most of my island time on Maui where both are available at the property I visit). I do understand that lack of beach to walk is typical of the Big Island.

Great place to stay. Has everything you need. Loved sitting out on the lanai every morning listening to the waves. Owners were very helpful when we had questions or concerns.

This property was everything we’d hoped for and so much more. We went to celebrate some big life changes and to escape quietly and it couldn’t have been better. The location was perfect, the property was quiet, and the insulation was amazing! The ONLY time I heard the neighbors is when we were all our on our lanai’s. No conversations heard while reading in the living room?! What a treat.

The hosts were amazing considering I had vacation brain and peppered them with questions. Fast response times. The location is prime for a luau, golf, and gorgeous views of the water. Just south of the heart of Kona, book it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The view was amazing, property was clean, & stocked with all of the essential items for a home away from home. The beds & furniture were comfortable. The location was great only about 15 min from "downtown" Kona. We would definitely stay here again. There was only 1 mishap...on day 3 we noticed ants in the master bathroom sink (closest to the toilet).

A wonderful condo

Very nice property. This condo is on the 2nd floor. It has a big balcony, two bed rooms and one queen size bed on the loft. They have almost everything you may need during your stay. More than enough of paper towel, toilet paper and towels for a week. There are three pools and jacuzzis. The highlight of our stay here is watching sunset and waves crashing on the rock out side the main pool every day. We will definitely come back next time visiting the Big Island.

Location as presented; unit and property very well cared for, plenty of room, plenty of towels, kitchen and needed kitchen items available and as expected. One of our requirements was AC and the unit had it and it worked great. The bathrooms were spacious and upgraded. The view and the waves were amazing and it was very peaceful. I would definitely stay here again!

The home was beautiful. Very clean. The beds were comfortable and the master bathroom was amazing. We had a great time. The unit was nicely stocked. I read other reviews stating there was minimal toilet paper and paper towel which was true but there was an adequate amount for us for the nine days we were there. We would absolutely stay here again.

This place was sparkling clean and very spacious. The master bathroom was incredible. Good location between great snorkeling and downtown. You are a few steps away from walking along the volcanic rocks lining the ocean.
